~Noah's POV~

I was trying hard not to think about Serena but I guess she already reserved her place in my mind. I don’t know how I’m going to face her today. I decided to do her welcoming today itself. Only her one look had me this much insane, what the f**k will happen to me if I'll start seeing her often?

I need to clear my mind and as if, Vanessa read my mind she came into my office wearing her signature smirk. I wanted to pull her to me but my stupid wolf growled in my head.

“Need a quicky alpha?” She asked in her seductive voice.

I went to hold her and kiss her hard but Duke interrupted me, "We have a pack meeting. Now.”

It felt like he was ordering me but he is right. I called a pack meeting to introduce Serena to everyone and complete her welcoming. I told Vanessa about the pack meeting and said we will have our time later.

We left my office together when Vanessa said, “I want to use the restroom. I’ll see you in the living room”.

I nodded and went to the living room. I was shocked to see Serena there. She was trying to smell something or I should say... someone. I realized she was trying to smell me but why didn't I catch her scent?

Her eyes found me and our eyes locked with each other. Her beautiful big blue eyes held happiness and she was looking perfect with her bright dimpled smile. She stepped in my direction but suddenly halted in her tracks.

I came out of Serena's haze when Vanessa wrapped her arms around me. Serena diverted her eyes from me and looked at Vanessa, she was pissed at her and I was angry at Taylor for bringing her into the packhouse. I ordered everyone to go into the garden and mind-linked Taylor, “Stay”.

It was me and Taylor in the living room. I asked, “What the f**k she is doing in the packhouse?”

“You will welcome her in our clan. She needs to live between everyone so she and everyone can get to know each other better. She can't make friends if she will live alone in that cabin. And doesn’t every member of our pack welcome in the packhouse? Especially those who are alone.”

I gritted my teeth at his answer, he is right. “But you know everything. I don’t want her.”

Taylor sighed, “Who said you need to accept her, it’s totally up to you. She is living here as a pack member, not as your mate.”

I left the packhouse huffing and Taylor followed me. I hate when he throws truths at me.

I stood at the centre of the stage with Taylor standing on my left. When I came outside, I heard what everyone was whispering about Serena. I didn’t like any of it. Though they all went silent when they saw me but all of them were calling her rogue or killer which hurts me.

I saw Serena standing between Mrs. Beck and Leah, so she already made friends, that’s good. I started telling everyone about Serena and told them that their alpha and beta trust her and she is no harm to us. They are still unsure about her but still obliged to my decision. I think Taylor was right, she should stay in the packhouse to become fond of everyone in the pack.

I completed my speech and told Taylor to call Serena on the stage to complete her welcoming. Serena came and stood beside Taylor. I felt a pang in my chest, she trusts Taylor more than anyone.

“It should hurt you, you are the one who is hurting her. Taylor is always nice to her." Duke taunted.

We completed her welcoming and her happiness didn't go unnoticed by me. She looked at me with her cute smile and said, “Thank you Alpha.”

Hearing Alpha from her hit me differently. Her soft voice attracted me and I wanted to take her in my arms right there but controlled myself, I can't let my guard down easily. I masked my emotions and dismissed everyone except Vanessa. I didn’t look at Serena but I know she was looking at me. I left with Vanessa without looking at her.

I had a meeting with my allies so I told Vanessa to wait. After the meeting, I was exhausted and worried about Serena staying here. Mate bond makes you weak when you are not with your mate, when you know she is near but still, not together. It drives both human and wolf crazy. I have my reasons for not accepting her. I sighed, I will think about Serena later but for now, I need Vanessa.

I called her to my room and she came after 10 minutes wearing a short tight black dress making me hard instantly. I pushed her against the wall and she gasped. I got the opportunity to put my tongue in her mouth. I kissed her hard and she moaned louder. I grabbed her hips and pulled her to me kissing all over her neck. She unbuckled my belt and took my d**k in her hand. Sitting on her knees, she started licking my d**k and I groaned loudly. She took me in her mouth and started sucking roughly. My world stopped. Serena heard me having s*x with someone. What the f**k I have done?

Duke growled loudly, “I told you not to do that. Now mate will hate us. She will leave us because of your stupidity.”

No... I don’t want Serena to leave. She might get into danger. The thought of her leaving me gave me a pang in my chest.

Vanessa asked, “What’s wrong alpha?”

Vanessa placed her hand on my shoulder and tried to kiss my cheek but I told her to leave.

“I’m noticing you. You are behaving strangely for the last few days. I don’t know what’s the reason behind this but you can't ignore me like that.”

I was angry with the way she questioned. I already told her that it's just s*x between us nothing more and now she is behaving like I made any commitment to her. How dare she talk to her alpha like that?

“Don't you dare raise your voice on me. I am your alpha. I know you don't have feelings for me, you only want Luna's title. You won't be my Luna, Vanessa. I cleared this on the very first day that it will be only s*x between us nothing more. Go on pack grounds and start your training we are done, Vanessa. Leave.”

She stood there shocked and tried to explain her actions but I was in no mood to take her s**t. I used my alpha voice, “Leave or you will be punished for defying me”.

Hearing those words, she left in a hurry without uttering a word.

I was pacing in my room thinking about what I’ll do now. I cheated on my mate, I broke her heart. What if Duke is right? What if she decides to leave me?

I can't let her leave. Duke will never forgive me, hell not I will be able to forgive myself if something bad happens to her. I don’t know what the f**k is wrong with me. I didn’t want her before but now I am thinking about how will I make her stay. How will I make her stay?

I was supposed to be with her, love her, pamper her, spoil her and protect her but instead of that, I broke her heart. She is suffering because of me. I don’t know what should I do. I want to have her with me but I don’t want to be hurt again nor do I want to hurt her.

“I don't think Serena will repeat the same things as our mother or anything like that. Give yourself a chance and trust her. She is broken too. You both need to give each other a chance. Talk to her.” Duke spoke with concern.

“I’ll think about it.”
