~Serena’s POV~

I was standing between Mrs. Beck and Leah. Everyone was whispering things about me until Taylor and his alpha came with stern looks on their face.

Noah started, “Thank you everyone for coming here. I think you already know the purpose of this meeting,” he said looking at me.

He continued, “A few days ago, your beta found a rogue she-wolf in our territory, her name is Serena. It was not her choice to become a rogue, but an accident did this to her. She lost her parents at a very young age and had a tough life after that. We found out everything about her. She is no harm.”

Taylor motioned me to join him. I went and stood beside him.

Noah said, "We are welcoming her into our clan. I expect you all will welcome her and accept her. I know trusting her will take time so there is no rush. Accept her when you are ready when you think she is no harm to you, but be nice. I don’t want anyone to call her rogue again. We are doing her welcoming now.”

I didn’t think they will do the welcoming this soon.

Star said, “Mate loves us already.”

Sere was silent all the time. I don’t know why she didn’t respond to any of this.

Taylor grabbed a knife and told me to give him my palm and I did as he said. He made a small cut on my palm and poured my blood into a cup. He did the same with Noah and I felt a connection forming with everyone, I looked at everyone and realized they felt it too.

Noah cleared his throat and said, "Welcome to Blood Moon Clan Serena.”

My heart fluttered when he called my name. I looked at him and smiled, “Thank you Alpha”.

I saw how his expressions flickered for a moment, but he was quick to cover them.

He looked at the crowd and said, “Thank you for coming. You all can leave now”.

Everyone bowed and left except that woman who was with Noah earlier. I thought he will talk to me but he ignored me just like before and left with that woman.

I was upset with his behaviour. Didn’t he feel the mate bond? Doesn't he know who I am to him? Why is he ignoring me and staying with someone else?

Taylor called my name, “Serena?”

“huh?” I said without looking at him.

“We should get inside. You need to know the pack rules and your training schedule.”

I blinked back my tears and followed him.

Taylor told me about my training schedule and pack rules. I want to ask him about Noah, he must be aware of this situation. Alpha and beta are always close to each other, and in most cases, they are best friends.

“Taylor, I want to ask something. You must be aware of me being your alpha’s mate.”

Taylor sighed and nodded, “I am, Serena but... it’s his call.”

I read his mind, ‘Taylor- how I am supposed to tell her that her own mate doesn’t want her, how will I tell her it’s because of his wolf why she is here.'

I was shocked would be an understatement. I was broken, my heart broke. Noah doesn’t want me. He welcomed me into his clan because his wolf wants me here. That means he doesn’t want me to stay here.

“I understand. Was this the reason why I was not treated as a rogue, why you didn’t see me as a threat, why you gave me a cabin instead of keeping me in dungeons?”

I asked with a forced smile and Taylor diverted his eyes.

“Taylor?”

He shut his eyes and said, “yes”.

I bitterly laughed, “You know what, I am the moon goddess favourite toy. She loves to play with me. Tell your alpha not to worry about me, I will leave this clan next month.”

"What? You can’t leave this clan. You wanted to live in a clan, you don’t want to be rogue. You can’t leave.”

“I know, I don’t want to be a rogue and I want to live in a clan, but I don’t want to feel that I am unwanted or forced on someone. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone, not even on my mate and I only have a month to take my revenge. I'll figure out what will I do after a month.”

Taylor looked confused, “Why do you have only one month?”

“Zedr, he wants to kill me on my 18th birthday and I will be 18 next month. I have to take my revenge before my birthday.”

“Zedr?”

“Yes Zedr, Zedr Bishop is that warlock who kidnapped me and wants to kill me.”

“Serena the day when I met you and you told me everything about you, a warlock called Noah. He gave us the description of her mate that matches you. He asked if we saw any girl who has a fair complexion, blue eyes, and long black hair. He said she is his mate.”

I panicked and asked who called him and he said “Dustin Fijj”.

No... No way, why is he using Dustin’s name to find me? Does he know he helped me to escape? Oh, goddess... I hope not.

I was panicking. Taylor told me to calm down, but I was unable to think straight. I was having a hard time breathing when Taylor patted my back and said, “Noah didn’t tell him about you, breath Serena breath.”

I calmed down a bit knowing Noah didn’t tell him anything about me. Taylor handed me a glass of water. I took it from him and gulped it all.

Taylor was looking at me with concerned eyes, I gathered myself and said, “Dustin is my friend who helped me to escape. He is using Dustin’s name, Taylor. It was Zedr, Noah talked to Zedr. He is finding me. I don’t have enough time. Please start my training Taylor. I don’t want to die.” I begged him crying.

“Hey! Stop crying. Please stop. I can’t see you like this and you won’t die, Serena. I won’t let you die. Doesn’t matter what Noah thinks, but I accept you as my Luna. It’s my duty to protect you and I will protect you as your beta and friend.”

I narrowed my eyes at him, “Luna?”

“Yes Luna, you are our luna. Noah has his own story and as I said it’s his call to tell you everything, I can’t tell you anything. I don’t know what he thinks right now, but he will come along he needs time.”

I didn’t want to think about the mate thing so I let everything slide and asked, “You will start my training tomorrow, right?”

“Yes”.

"By the way... You said you will be turning eighteen next month. So how do you know that Noah is your mate?"

He asked leaving me baffled. s**t! I didn't think of that! Wolves shift into their wolves at the age of eighteen. They can't tell who is their mate without becoming one with their wolf and here I spit my secret by myself. How will I convince him now?

I looked away from him and tried to think of something fast.

"I... Even I don't know. I think it has something to do with my father. Even without shifting into his wolf, he was also able to tell who his mate was. His scent senses were strong. Maybe this is the reason."

He didn't look convinced but nodded his head anyway. I sighed, thank god he didn't push it further.

“Take rest, for now. I will call you when dinner is ready,” He smiled.

He stood and went towards the door but before closing the door, he said, “Remember whenever you feel low and alone, I’m here.” I smiled at him and he left.

I was alone in my room, thinking about everything that happend yet. Did I have easy life that now my mate is rejecting me?

I linked Sere, “Sere is this the reason why you were silent on welcoming?”

She replied in a broken tone, “Yes when you saw him with someone else and he was fine with her touch, I knew something was wrong.”

I called Star, “Star? Star?”

“I am here, Serena. I didn’t know I was making a fool of myself by thinking that he want us. Who will want a broken mate like us who is tortured, abused, and raped? No one. No one will want a mate like us. I was distracted for a few minutes, but I’m focused. Focused on killing Zedr Bishop. We will kill him and if we didn’t win, at least we will die with dignity that we fought for ourselves.”

I was beyond shocked by her statement.

Star is a short-tempered lycan. She is always ready to fight, whether it's for life or love, but hearing this from her broke my heart. She is thinking of giving up on our mate. I thought she will fight for him but her little speech scares me.

“Since when did you start giving up Star? Since when did you start thinking of dying? You never lost hope and now you are talking like this. This is not the Star I know, you are not my Star.”

“I’m tired of everything Serena, tired of being targeted, tired of being rejected.”

Sere was listening to everything, she said, “But we are the legendary wolf star, we need to live, we need to prove to everyone who tortured or rejected us that we are worthy of everything. We are not nothing, we are not rogue, we are Werewolf King and Queen's daughter, their princess. We will prove everyone wrong about us. Don’t lose hope, Star, we both need you.”

“Did you both swap your body? Because Sere is taking like Star.”

Sere rolled her eyes and Star said, “I agree with what Sere said. I was lost for a moment, but now we will kick everyone’s ass who thought we are nothing.”

I smiled, my star is back.

Leah knocked on the door, “Hey can I come in?”

I opened the door and let her in.

“I want to give you a tour of the packhouse.”

“I appreciate Leah, but I think I’m good here.”

“Come on Serena you are staying here, you should know about this place. Taylor said I can’t take you outside the packhouse but I can entertain you here.”

She is sweet, I didn’t want to disappoint her or sound rude so I agreed. She clapped her hands and taking my hand, she leads me outside.

“And there, this is T.V room”

“Your packhouse is amazing”

She smiled, “I know.”

She didn’t tell me where is the gym, I asked her about the gym and she slapped her forehead, “Gym is the most interesting part of our packhouse, and look, I forgot to show you where it is.”

I laughed and said it’s fine.

“Gym is on the third floor. Come let’s go there”.

We were going to the gym when I heard moans. I looked at Leah. She rolled her eyes and told me to ignore it. I tried to ignore but those moans were getting louder, and then I heard a man groaning. My heart broke when I realized it was Noah. He was having s*x with someone.

Leah took my hand and led me somewhere but I couldn't focus on my surroundings. I didn’t know where I was going. I... I didn’t want to stay there anymore so I left Leah's hand and ran into my room.
