"I don't," I said, struggling to speak between my raspy breath. "Please move your hand away from me and stop touching me." I swallow another groan from his caress, barely controlling my feelings.
He whispered on my ear, "Then move away my hand," as he leaned in closer and kissed me on the neck.
An unstoppable fire ignited all over my body, making me hot.
'I'm not sure why, but it just feels right.' His kisses, me in his arms....as it's if a piece of me had been gone and had been resurrected.'
She had a tear fall from her eyes out of nowhere, and she had to blink many times to stop it. Draco, who was on top of her, became aware of what was going on and quickly backed away, worried that his actions had alarmed the vulnerable lady.
Kassandre brushed her tears away as she sniffed her nose.
'Wow, that was embarrassing,' she thought to herself as she straightened up. 'How come I even cried?' ’
"Do you mind if I ask whether you're okay?" Draco inquired, his gaze pleadingly fixed on her.
She answered, "I-I'm OK," as she lowered her gaze and fiddled with her fingers. "I just had the feeling that I had forgotten something crucial to me that I didn't realize."
Draco fell mute as he stared at her blankly. As agony assaulted his face, his eyes welled up with tears, but he managed to hide it before Kassandre noticed.
"It's best if you go to your quarters right now," Draco advised as he lifted Kassandre from the table and assisted her in standing. Kassandre pinched her brows, furious at the prospect of being imprisoned there once more. "And starting tomorrow, you can go out, but let Illad accompany you all the way to wherever you want to go."
As they exited the room, Draco placed Kassandre's hand on his arms, directing her to follow him.
"Tomorrow, we'll go to the center village down the road to formally introduce you to everyone," he added, his gaze fixed on the roadway ahead of us.
As we walked through the corridors and marched up to my chamber, the environment was deafeningly quiet. Illad stayed motionless, his eyes circling in surprise when he noticed me standing alongside Draco and quickly bowed in reverence.
Illad gently stood up and moved aside to let us in the door as Draco cleared his throat in response. After opening the door and admitting us in, he bowed again in submission and discreetly excused himself.
When we walked into the room, we were greeted by indications of my unsuccessful escape attempt.
"Quite fiery, I must say," Draco murmured as he sat atop my bed, gently untangling the blankets that I had tied together. He said, "You must do what I instructed you to do Kassandre, it's for the best," in a firm voice that sounded like a father speaking to his disobedient daughter.
Kassandre's entire being was consumed by a burning hatred, without thinking, she made a rapid stride towards him, bridging the gap between them. "Draco, no one is commanding me here." As their gazes locked, she whispered, "No one."
"They won't be able to challenge my word Kassandre, and I am your husband and the monarch of this world."
"However, I am your queen as well as your wife." She responded sarcastically, "You don't own me, Draco." She lifted her head in power, showing no sign of submissive behavior towards him. She is stating unequivocally that she is not someone who can be ordered around.
Draco stayed silent after she told him what he needed to know while untangling the bed linens. He left without saying anything after finishing what he was doing and closing the door behind him as he exited the chamber.
There was no complaint or reply to what she said. There was nothing but silence.
Kassandre moaned in exasperation as she sank into her crumpled bed and glanced at the ceiling above her, her thoughts drowning out.
'Everything is moving so fast that I can't keep up; I miss my old house, I miss the hospital where I work my exhausting shifts, I miss the patients I care for; I miss everything,' she muttered beneath her breath. Lifting her hand in front of her, she watches as the wedding band shines brightly on her ring finger. 'Hopefully, I will not be sorry for marrying him.'
As I stared upwards, I noticed small flecks of golden lights fluttering above me, as well as a voice that kept replaying in my thoughts as I fought the want to close my eyes, which began to drift out of nowhere as soon as I saw the golden lights.
'Wait...I'm a little dizzy... what's up?'
I tried to yell out my words of call for Illad, but nothing came out of my mouth; there was no sound at all, as if I had been muted for a long time.
My surroundings begin to blur, and before I knew it, I was lying in bed, wide awake, as the sun peeks out the draperies, hurting my eyes.
I get out of bed and begin walking all the way across the balcony. The room was similar to mine, but it was more active than it appeared. The surroundings appears to be very alive, with birds chirping outside the balcony. Inside, I have a sense of being alive.
The environment began to twist and distort as it changed, and I found myself once again facing a lake in front of me as I lay down on the grass, with a man spoke with me with his back to my view. My hands reach out involuntarily for him, and my cheeks get flushed as tears stream down.
'It's strange....why am I crying?'
’
"You have to kill me, Reshka," the man murmured as he turned away from Kassandre/Reshka.
‘Reshka?’ Kassandre asked herself confused on why she was called Reshka.
Kassandre wanting to voice out that she wasn’t Reshka in the first place, only exhaust herself as she tried her might to talk to the man to clear the misunderstandings between them, but in vain there was no voice that came out of her mouth as if she was not in control over her body.
‘If it was really her body.’ She murmured to herself as she watched a stranger’s hand as she tried to lift her ‘own hands’ in mid air.
Trying to confirm her assumptions, Kassandra took a slight glance of her reflection on the water and was shocked on what she saw.
A another image of herself appears in the reflection, a lovely ginger-brown haired girl with wings tucked behind her back. A species similar to the Myrrah species.
"I'm not going to do that!" I don't want to put you to death! " The words sprang out of my mouth in a flash as tears streamed down my cheeks as I cried. Hands trembling at the man's words, I tried to console myself from the sadness I felt inside. The feelings that my identical stranger felt.
Because of the girl's response, the man's fingers clenched and he turned to face me, but his face was hazy enough that I couldn't determine who he was.
He rushed over to the girl and hugged her firmly, as if he may lose her at any minute.
"I—I— I can't afford to lose you again......" The man fought to speak, his hands clutching the woman's face as they leaned against one other's forehead.
The words that come out of my mouth are "live, my love." "You have to keep going. I'm always a part of your heart, and I'll be there for as long as you want me to be. Our fate is beyond our control. This is always how our realtionship ends."
