The trip to the room was short, and I held on to Nikolai's s**t like it was my key to life itself. Neither of us said a word, and I pulled close to him, burying myself in his scent, my lips slightly parting. This was a man who we both knew was using me. Suddenly, my back hit he bed, and a gasp left my lips as I tried to gain my stability. That never happened as Nikolai hovered over me for over a minute, his eyes dark as he let his fingers touch my wine. "I should feel good doing this," he said in a low whisper, his lips grazing my forehead, his fingers caressing my side. "I shouldn't hate the part of me that hates that woman." I swallowed, then wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him down to my lips. He didn't take like he always did, and I could taste the hate, the resentment.
