I lay there in bed, my eyes wide open as I gazed up to the chandelier. It was dark, and I could barely see a thing, but I didn't care to either. Everything felt blank, and I struggled to wrap my head around everything. Nikolai's adoption. But how did my mother come into play in all of this?
