"So how is it so far at Lachlan?" Talia chats my ear off as we sit on my bed talking about our weeks to one another. We had texted back and forth throughout the week but with the new job and everything, things have been a bit chaotic. "It's everything I ever dreamed it would be!" I gushed over the perfect situation I was placed in. I had prayed multiple times a day that I would one day get hired onto Lachlan and now seeing that come true made my insides explode. "What about you? How is Roberts and Smith?" "Aw it's fine I will say I am not a huge fan of my dad being the boss. It's just a weird dynamic." Talia popped a piece of popcorn into her mouth and glanced at the tv for a few seconds. "But Niall says it will get less weird, it's only weird because this is all new to me." "How is the little Irish man by the way? Any plans for the wedding yet?" Talia and Niall have been engaged for a year now and haven't made plans to officially tie the knot. I wasn't sure what their reasoning was but every time I asked Talia she pawned it off as not having enough money to pay for it. "No, I just started this new job and Niall is still in school. We just don't have the money to spend on it right now. Hopefully, when he is done with med school we can think about the wedding and start planning you know?" Talia said almost like clockwork only this time to add in the fact that Niall was still in med school and she just started her new job. "You know I really think you should apply for the bachelorette, can you imagine?" Talia moved onto the next subject as soon as the show flashed back to the tv screen. It was a tradition that every Thursday Talia would come over and watch the new episode with me but with the new job thing for both of us we had rescheduled for this weekend. "Yeah but nine times out of ten they break up after the show. They never end up staying together." I pointed out watching to see who got the one on one date with Jo Jo. "Who cares, you get to travel for free! Not only that but you get to go on dream dates with a bunch of sexy ass men! What beats that?" Talia asked me shoving another fist full of popcorn into her mouth. "Speaking of sexy ass men, I think Harry might be into me." I bit my bottom lips waiting for a reaction from Talia. I had told her of Harry but didn't go into much detail about him... well the details I know about him. "What?! Tell me everything, what does he look like?" Talia's attention did a complete 360 when Harry's name was mentioned. She sat cross-legged with her hair brown highlighted hair falling over her face from the quick change in attention. "Well Harry, Nadine, and I went out to lunch this week and I asked him if he was single and he said he was but everytime we talked about relationships or the lack thereof he would smirk at me!" I confided to Talia seeing her already jumping straight into social media stalking. Pulling up her i********: account she found the search bar and asked me what Harry's username was. "It's Harry underscore Styles." I return getting closer to look at Talia's phone that was loading his account. Pictures soon start to load and pop up on her screen causing my demeanor to light up even more. Even when I wasn't near this boy he made me giddy! "Hot damn he is fine!" Talia cycled through his pictures letting me watch as she scrolled through a bunch pf pictures. "You are the luckiest b***h I know, I swear!" Talia tells me taking a break from stalking his i********: page to go back to watching the Bachelorette. "Plus he sits right next to you! What are the odds?" "Things like this don't happen to me, you know this about me! I am one of the most unlucky people I have ever met!" My eyes watch as Jo Jo gave Jordan the one on one which I had already guessed way back given Jordan having a clear advantage over Robbie. "Maybe all those text chains caught up to you!" Talia raised a brow at me as we both laughed. "You don't mean the ones that people sent you in middle school? The ones that if you don't forward them to 10 friends you get like 10 years of bad luck?" I chuckled just thinking about those text chains I never forwarded. My problem was that I didn't have 10 other friends not counting the one that sent it to me in the first place. "I always sent them because I was superstitious and I 'm beginning to think that is why you have been so unlucky!" Talia teased poking my arm laughing while I did the same. "Whatever!" I reply going back to watching the Bachelorette except for the entire time I was daydreaming. Replacing Jo Jo with me I watched the show in a whole different light. "Oh, Harry! I know I'm going to pick you I'm just stringing Robbie along for the purposes of the show. Plus it will be a lot more dramatic when I turn down his proposal!" Harry has me in his arms as we stand on a sandy beach just as the sun is about to set. I sigh out enjoying the show a lot more than I did before. "Madeline, I love you more than words can express if only I could sweep you off your feet now and take you away with me!" Harry says passionately pressing his lips to mine and pulling away leaving me dazed. Harry picks me up bridal style and we walk down the beach laughing before Harry stubs his bare toe on a rock. He begins cursing and drops me causing me to fall on my ass, getting sand on my cheeks. "I'm sorry I ate an extra egg roll today... you know nervous and all." I apprehensively smile at Harry before snapping out of my daze when Talia snaps her fingers in my face. "Earth to Madeline!" Talia shakes my arm until I push her off of me. "What? What? What?" I asked after she isn't shaking me vigorously. "You were totally zoned out that entire time!" Talia stood up to gathering her things. I rubbed my eyes and saw some of my eyelash extensions fall out. "Damn it!" I curse seeing the three lashes that had fallen out due to me rubbing my eyes. "Hey I have to head home but text me!" Talia says swinging her bag over her shoulder as I stand up and walk with her out of my room and to the front door. "Sounds good, drive safe!" I shout after her when she waves to me going out to her car. Hearing my phone notify me I picked it out of my back pocket to check who it is. Unknown: Please tell me this is Madeline and not some rejection hotline or wrong number. I smile to myself and reply back quicker than probably necessary. Madeline @ Harry: Sorry wrong number this is Natalia Harry @Madeline: Oops sorry! Madeline @ Harry: This girl must be some b***h giving you the wrong number! Harry @ Madeline: Yeah I guess so Madeline @ Harry: Rude! Harry @ Madeline: I knew it was you the whole time Madeline, you aren't as tricky as you think;) Madeline @ Harry: I'm tricky enough, I was just going easy on you. Thought I would take it easy on the jokes since we only barely know each other. I wouldn't want to scare you away that easy! Harry @ Madeline: I don't scare easy, give me the best you got;) Madeline @ Harry: Okay you asked for it!:) "I know that look!" My mother interrupted texting her voice pointing at me from the couch where she sat next to my dad watching the evening news. "What look? I don't have a look! Pfft!" I played off knowing that that was the worst lie I had ever told. I wasn't a good liar and it was at times a real curse, but then again do I want to be a good liar? Is that a bad thing if you are a good liar? "Madeline you are the worst liar this planet has ever seen! Who is he?" My mother asked in her thick latina accent. It's weird that my brothers and I don't share her same accent since I mean she has such a thick one. She gasps and slaps a hand over her mouth, "Is it that British man?!" "There's nothing going on right now, we just met this week mom." I played it low key even though I was thrilled to be talking to Harry over text now. When he had asked my for my number on Friday my insides exploded and that's no exaggeration. "Whatever you say, Madeline." She lifts one of her shoulders and turns her gaze back to the tv like she isn't believing what I am saying. "Yeah, it is whatever I say!" I tell her wanting her to believe that there wasn't anything going on between us... yet! "Like I said it's whatever you say." She says again in the same tone she had before. "Well, ya know what? I am going to bed, so goodnight!" I flashed the peace sign just for my mom to mimic me causing her to laugh and get my dad to join in on her teasing. I swear my family's favorite pass time was to tease me. N. I am literally loving writing this but are you guys enjoying it as much as I am?:)
