Chapter 3Saturday Late Morning, Early Afternoon
Despite their slow start they were at the park by eleven. Kitty immediately wiggled out of her booster seat, grabbed Eloise in her arms and was about to head for the grass when Zach stopped her. “Whoa, Princess, what’s the hurry? There are cars going by and you might get hurt. Wait for your brother.”
Zach and Bobby wrestled with the now heavy cooler while Jason grabbed Kitty and Eloise and the old queen-sized quilt the Michaels gave him to use at the park. Jason and Zach spread the blanket while Bobby went into the cooler and got a baggie partially filled with Honey Nut Cheerios and a juice box.
“Sit down and eat before you wear Eloise out.” Bobby told her and patted the blanket.
Zach lay down with Kitty, his big body half on the blanket
