4. The charm of his presence!

4 At the impact of his voice, Emily shuddered and gulped her saliva. She was yet to meet her wolf and the effect he was creating on her was indescribable.  It has been like this for seven months not because he was the hottest guy of school but because Emily relished seeing him from close unlike other girls, who craved to see one close glimpse of him! He was the boyfriend of her best friend. She even moved around in his car twice or thrice on Sinjin's insistence. She had wanted Emily to join them at restaurants too but she got turned down since Emily was afraid of this kind of feeling.  Above all, she was afraid to betray her mate she was going to meet soon. That's why she maintained her distance from Jayden. But today... She didn't know what was wrong with her, but she could not keep a control on her heart beats.  When Sinjin detached herself from Emily and both of them looked at Jayden's car stopping across from them, Emily fisted her hands. The ever so elegant boyfriend of her BFF hopped out of the car, taking every girl by surprise as they stared and ogled at him at the same time.  He looked edible in snow-white t-shirt paired up with black denims along with a washed sleeveless hoodie over his white wear, making him more and more jaw dropping handsome.  "Hey, love!" He came forward, pulling Sinjin in his arms and dropping a kiss on the corner of her lips.  "I am surprised you are awake! You don't usually get up before 10. 00 am, do you?" Sinjin put her arms around his taut shoulders, allowing him to cover her body with his cologne.  She got a cute chuckle from him then an answer she really loved coming from him, "Well, I saw a dream in which you were wearing a sexy blue bikini! It seemed so fu*king real that I could not stop myself from coming here." "Really?"  "Yes." He whispered, taking her lips for a deep kiss while Emily stood there like a third wheel, watching them drink from each other's mouths.  She nibbled her lower lip watching them silently. She observed how smoothly his mouth moved on Sinjin's as a rush of heat covered her back and she couldn't help but wonder— what if she was kissed like that by him?  'Stop it, Emily! Stop it now. It has been seven months and you still CAN'T avoid thinking like that towards Jayden. He is your best friend's mate, damn it!'  Having scolded herself Emily turned her face away, giving the cutest and genuine couple their own time as she feigned to be busy with her phone.  Jayden Harris' personality attracted attention. His pair with Sinjin was admirable since she was selfless at heart and true unlike other girls in the school, who were gold diggers or greedy.  Nobody believed it when seven months back Jayden and Sinjin walked in through the school gate, hand in hand, as they happily smiled. Jayden loved her.  While they joined in the first year of high school, Jayden was in the second. Jayden had gone abroad with the basketball team and the coach for an overseas competition in another school to London. So he could not see the admission of the first year's freshers or the freshers party.  And it was on the day of Sinjin's birthday when he returned and it was love at first sight for him. When she approached him saying that he was her mate— he only pulled her close, kissing her in the parking lot when they were alone.  Sinjin did not tell anyone about it that day... And next day, everyone saw the Alpha's heir walking in the school with the fresher, hands entwined, her neck bearing a mark and crimson shade on her cheeks that was the darkest shade of blush anyone could ever notice. He also dumped his girlfriend who was the cheerleader of the basketball team. Jayden really loved her, it was obvious in his eyes.  'I hope my mate is just like him— such a loving and caring person. I am happy for my friend.'  Emily spoke to herself whilst staring at her phone.  She was hoping for them to part soon so they can go to their first class. The final bell was about to ring in five minutes. And if he didn't leave her, Emily would have to go alone.  It was at the same time Jayden let Sinjin go and caressed the back of her head, "You drive me crazy, Sinjin. Let me know the spell you've cast on me!"  He received a poke in his stomach from Sinjin by her elbow. He laughed in response and joined their foreheads since she was ruby red, "Hey, let's skip the classes and fulfill my dream?"  "Huh?"  Jayden hugged Sinjin as he brought his mouth near her ear and said, "We will go to a beach and see you wearing a blue bikini. That's what I saw, didn't I?"  "NO WAYS!" He was pushed away.  All this while Emily stood quietly, some steps away from them with her head looking in the opposite direction, as they relished their sweet moment together.  Emily heard Jayden ask why she could not go with him, and the answer caused him to look behind his girlfriend at Emily This was the toughest time— when Jayden graced her with his eyes. Those grey eyes always made her fall short of breaths. They resembled a frozen pond with a frozen sheet of ice above the water, appearing Grey under a dusky evening. They caught her immobile whenever he discerned her. At the moment, he was doing just the same!  Gosh, Emily wanted to run away. But it was just too late now. He was already eyeing her with his scrutinizing smoky pupils, stunning her. Freezing her.  "Oh, your friend! It's her birthday today that's why you do not want to go with me, isn't it?" He said and Emily still pretended as if she was engrossed in her phone.  She would have continued with the pretension if he had not chosen to leave Sinjin and walk towards her— bringing her heart to a point where it was really hammering in her rib.  Why did he have to approach her? Can't he see he was affecting her?   Shit! Emily needed to move away. But again, it was late for he had already held her wrist and failed her idea.  Tbc...
