Cody is a young boy who was just 7 years old when their parents left him and his sister who was 13 then. His Grandmother Lena, has helped and worked hard for them, in such old age, baking, and selling biscuits, and cakes, and also working as a helper in a rich house, so that she can earn money for Cody and Emma's food and living.

Ginny's father has helped them a lot in coping with the daily necessities and sometimes he too would have helped them financially when needed.

He is a construction worker, who always goes out of town to wherever the work is provided. One day, an accident happened at his site, and he died on the spot, which made Ginny and Fiona mother of Ginny's lives miserable. This happened 2 years after Emma's parents left them.

Grandma Lena and Fiona helped each other to take care of the kids. But, they both earned very little doing the odd jobs which became tough for them to handle for kids' education, food, and living expenses.

After Emma and Ginny had completed their college diploma, they both decided to start working so they could help their family to look after. Ginny and Fiona's lives got better as they had 2 working hands in their house, but for Emma, it became harder. by the time she reached 17 years, Cody was 10 years old and was detected with heart disease during one of the tests made by the school.

Everyone was heartbroken, and Grandma Lena, couldn't bear the fact that her beloved grandson had such a disease and she had no money to treat him. Their parents left them and never even tried to contact them for the past 3-4 years. She wished if her husband was alive he might have done something to get the money.

All the retirement money, her husband has left for her is robbed by her son, and now all they have is monthly expenses to go live on every day.

Grandma started working overtime and took so many orders than she could handle, without Emma's knowledge. Even with the help of Fiona, it became tough for her to bake cakes and biscuits just in 2-3 days for so many batches.

Due to pressure, tension, and worry about Cody, her health started deteriorating. It was then Emma came to know about it one day, 'Grandma, if you fall sick like this what will happen to me and Cody? Please don't do any work from now on.'

My child, if we don't work hard, how can we earn money for Cody's operation? We should at least earn some, so we can take a loan then.

Cody, who is listening to all this came to his Grandma, 'I'm okay to live how many months God wants me to. But, I don't want to lose you. I love you, Granny, please don't worry about me. I'll be fine.' All three of them cried that day so hard, and Emma decided to do another job, so she could meet month-end living expenses and also some money to save up.

For now, Cody's doctor is helping them by giving them medication for free, and also he waived hospital consultation. He is trying money from the organization, so he can operate on Cody. But, nothing is helping them in their favor.

It's been a year, and Emma has celebrated her 18th birthday by cutting her Grandma's handmade cake, which is her secret recipe. As a gift for her birthday, Grandma gave her recipe book to Emma, and told her, 'If nothing works in life, you can start baking for a living. I know you don't love to bake cakes, because of your mother, but trust me, it helps you in life to survive.'

Emma felt very emotional hearing Grandma's words. Indeed Emma used to like baking just like her Granny, she used to do all that with her mother every Sunday as a bonding time. But, she never knew why her parents had abandoned them. Since they left, Emma stopped participating in Baking and she even avoids eating them. She only eats if Granny feeds her lovingly.

Emma could feel, that her Granny is trying hard to live one, though they are managing money for now, but her Granny's health is deteriorating every day.

When she heard from Cody that her Granny was no more, she felt heartbroken, and more hurtful than when her parents left. Cody managed to handle his emotions, and Emma, perhaps, silently relied on Granny for emotional support. Now, with no one left they have only for each other to rely on.

After Granny's funeral arrangements were done, every in the mourning mentioned Granny's kind nature and her loving baking delicacies. I decided, that if everything in life went smoothly, and if she had money, she would start her baking business, to make her Granny alive through her recipes. Emma felt it was her Granny's last wish as well.

Sis, you have to stop thinking about my operation and save for your future. I know, I won't live anymore, and I don't want you to waste more money for me.

Emma cried so hard hugging Cody, 'So, you have decided to leave alone in this world, right?'

No, I won't. I will always stay beside, you as a ghost, don't cry.

Emma jabbed his forehead, ' Don't say such stupid things again. If I can't arrange money and let you die, I'll die with you as well. There is no one for me except you. '

I know, but I don't want you to waste more money on my health. Why don't you study, so you can get a good job?

We don't know when we will get 5 million dollars money for my operation, and there is no guarantee that I will live. Why do you want to waste money when there is no use?
