"What do you mean she's gone?"
Marcus glared at Demetri as he couldn't bring himself to glare at his mate who was looking down at the ground, silently crying. Demetri didn't say anything as he knew the consequences of talking without being spoken to first. But Marcus wasn't who they were afraid of.
"How did you let this happen?" Theodore angrily paced around the room - his (and eventually hers) throne room - running a hand through his hair, tugging at it because he couldn't bring himself to hurt a girl or his relative.
His brother didn't answer again because of his fear but when the King took a few steps towards him, he muttered. "They set us up. We thought you had sent two guards from your Elite team for extra protection but when we were leaving the boutique, they grabbed her and disappeared in a blink of an eye".
Marcus cursed under his breath, letting his head fall in his hands as he sat down at the steps that led to the throne. Artemis grabbed his face and made him look at her and asked him something. The mate bond was already working Theodore thought But why hasn't she made a move to talk to me?
"What do you know, Marcus?" the Grace warlock shook his head, a few tears escaped his eyes.
"What is it, Marcus? Do you know where she is?" When the wizard didn't answer, Demetri held his brother back as he screamed. "Where is she? Tell me where my mate is? Help me find my Queen. Tell me now, goddammit".
Marcus, Demetri and Artemis stared at him wide-eyed as the King fell on his knees and a sob escaped his throat. He looked at his mate's brother with glossy eyes. "If you know where she is, please tell me". A King wasn't supposed to be showing any weakness. A King wasn't supposed to cry or be on his knees. A King is supposed to be strong to rule his kingdom. But a King needs a Queen by his side for a reason.
That's why he was on his knees, crying, showing his biggest weakness - Sophia Athena Grace. He already fell for her without even realising it and it hurt knowing that she had to be taken for him to realise.
Marcus nodded as he sighed, running a hand through his brown locks. "The warlocks have her because my dad fell in love and married a human - my mom"
Artemis frowned in confusion. "What do they want from Sophie?"
"They seek revenge. They already killed my parents and now, they want us dead"

She cried in pain as she fell on the hard concrete with a thud. She felt him punch her stomach and all the air was knocked out of her lungs. A knife entered her body, blood running down her thigh. She screamed in pain.
It hurt so badly and she couldn't stop screaming because of it. She didn't want to give them the satisfaction of her screams but she couldn't help it. It hurt like a bítch.
"Now remember that your father caused all of this because he fell in love with someone that wasn't a witch" Stab, stab, stab.
She couldn't feel her right leg and she continued to kick him off of her but he didn't feel it. It was like he was made out of rock. Punch, stab, punch.
"What do you want from me?" she whimpered, her voice hoarse from crying and screaming. He smirked, leaning closer to her face.
"Your blood"
Kick, stab, punch. "We want all of it" he still had that smirk on his face as he stepped away from her.
"Doctor you know what to do"
A man in a white suit walked inside her cell, with a needle in his hand. She stepped away from him until her back hit the wall. The doctor took small steps closer until he reached her.
"This won't hurt but if your blood is what we want then, it's going to hurt a lot later when I remove it all" he pressed the needle in her arm and started taking her blood and out of instinct, she screamed. But this time she screamed a name that made the doctor stop for a bit before he continued like he was ordered to.
"Theo!"

"We're going to find her" Artemis walked inside Marcus' room and sat next to him on his bed. She placed a hand on his cheek and he leaned on her touch.
"What if we don't? What happens then? I can't live without her, Artemis. She's my baby sister" he cried on her shoulder as she hugged him tightly.
"Shh. I know. We're going to find her" she kissed his forehead and he stared at her. He pulled away from the hug and grabbed her hands. He leaned his forehead on hers.
"Thank you, Artemis"
"For what?" she squeezed his hands and watched as he sniffed and closed his eyes.
"For always being there"

He sat on the steps of his throne, his head resting in his hands. He was trying not to cry but his eyes betrayed him as a few tears run down his cheeks.
He couldn't take it anymore, he wanted her back. He needed her back and she was only gone for a few hours. Marcus, Demetri, himself and a few trustworthy - like Artemis - warriors were going on a mission to get her back tomorrow. Marcus had objected the moment he heard his mate was coming with but eventually went with it when she told him she could protect herself.
Theodore got up from where he was sitting and walked away from that room to go to his. He passed Sophia's room and touched the door, sighing. He leaned his forehead on it and muttered. "I'll find you"
He entered her room, closing the door softly behind him. He gasped when he saw her sleeping on her bed with a book on her chest. He ran to her side and caressed her face, kissing her forehead.
She opened her eyes and smiled at him. "You're here," he said and frowned.
"Of course I am. I'd never leave you. I love you."
And that's when he knew he was dreaming. She was just starting to talk with him, he knew she hadn't fallen in love with him yet.
"You're not her" he took a few steps away from her and blinked. When he opened his eyes, she was all bloody with a needle in her arm. Her thighs, her stomach had cuts and bruises. Her eyes were wide as she stared at him before she screamed.
"Theo!"
