The Big Reveal

1740 Words
Scott’s POV I know exactly why all of this is happening. It is very obvious to me that this is Luna Sandra’s doing but her reason for doing this is something I haven’t figured out yet. She has been behind the scenes, instigating and arranging this marriage. I don’t know how she managed to convince Alpha Damien, but she did and now my life is about to become a mess. It Is no secret that Elena has had a crush on Elijah literally her whole life. Even Elijah knew this but he still chose to play dumb. Luna Sandra is also aware of that but she doesn’t want her son to get married to someone from a low class family. She knew that if Elijah was to choose a mate, he wouldn’t waste a second in choosing Elena which is why she made her moves quickly to make sure that never happens and secure a good wife for her son. She’ll do anything and everything just to make sure her son lives comfortably. Severally, she has lied to my father and forced me to cover Elijah’s dirty life. Because of this, I became the bad son and my father’s disappointment grew each day thanks to the lies she kept feeding him. I cannot really blame my father when he’s completely in love with Luna Sandra. She has him at the palm of her hand and will do whatever she pleases with him. I have no one to help me in this battle and to be honest, I have given up myself. I do not have a voice in this pack anymore but I know that one day, the truth will prevail over injustice. My rightful place and rights were taken away from me and even my father doesn’t care about me anymore. The Elijah they praise and adore has impregnated a few wolves in the pack. Is that who is going to become Alpha? No one knew about this because his mother, Luna Sandra paid them off and made them abort the babies. For the ones who disobeyed her, she cunningly convinced Alpha Damien to banish them from the pack. She is always covering up for Elijah, making him look an upright man when he was far from that. Few months ago, Elijah had skipped the Alpha training academy to party with his friend. He got drunk and tried to rape a young girl. She resisted and fought him off her which resulted in him killing her. Luna Sandra quickly called me and made me rush to the scene of the crime where she gave me a shirt that was stained with the dead girl’s blood and told me to dispose the girls body and the evidence. I ended up taking the fall for him, again. The only reason I agreed to do it was because I love my brother. It turned out that it was another plan of Luna Sandra and before I knew what was happening, the pack came running to me and called me a murderer. They kicked me out of the academy, saying that a murderer wasn’t fit to be Alpha. No matter how much I tried explaining myself to them, no one believed me. I ended up staying away from everyone and developed a cold personality. Even though she had done all of these to me, she still wasn’t satisfied. Now, she wants to cage me in an arranged married. She really doesn’t want my happiness. If it were Elijah, she would burn the earth to make sure she gave him only the best, what she thinks is the best. The lives of others don’t matter when it comes to her beloved son. She would gladly kill for him. This is now the reality of my life. I desperately wanted to tell Elena all of this. She needs to know the truth. But, I don’t want to bring enmity to both of them but she deserved to know that Elijah was in on this too. He knew everything about this marriage from the onset. As long as it was what his mother wanted for him, he seemed to want it too. * * Elena’s POV Elijah came visiting several days after Alpha Damien and his other family visited. I sat at the back of the house, staring at nothing in particular. I was trying to process everything Scott had said to me earlier. He even let me know that they were all forcing the union, including Elijah. Now, I found that terribly hard to believe. I couldn’t look at Elijah the same. If Scott was indeed right, it would mean that I had been lied to all my life and Elijah wasn’t really who he portrayed himself to be. Has he been fooling me all this while then? After the party, I didn’t see Judith anymore and when I asked out of concern, his response was that she followed Devon on a trip and that was the last we ever spoke about her. Was she alright? I really hope so. “You’re becoming lean, Elena.” Elijah’s voice boomed into my ears, disrupting my thoughts. He took a seat beside me and stared at me, expecting me to say something. I disappoint him and keep shut. I had absolutely nothing to say to him. He sighed In frustration and stood up from where he sat. It was as though there was something disturbing him or a question he wanted to get off his chest. I raised my head to look at him, wondering what the problem could be. A part of hoped that he would tell me how he had connived with his mother to force me into marrying Scott. How he pretended to feel sorry for me. I couldn’t blame him. He is his mother’s son after all. This whole arrangement clearly had nothing to do with me making Scott a better person, just like they said. It was a notion that was moved by the selfishness and desire to make sure Scott is completely out of the way. He was as much of a victim in this as I was. Luna Sandra doesn’t see me good enough for her son which is why she’s making sure I go to Scott. “Why didn’t you tell me that Scott came to see you?” He said nervously. I was honestly shocked to see that he already knew of our meeting. Did Scott already tell him that he had revealed the truth to me? “I asked you a question, Elena.” He groaned, his hand moving through his hair in frustration. “Weren’t you surprised that I didn’t come visiting with them?” He asked but all I could do was sigh in relief. He wasn’t talking about Scott’s afternoon visit. This meant he didn’t know yet. “I…I’m sorry, Elijah. I didn’t keep it from you intentionally. It just skipped my mind. You know how stressed I’ve been with the whole marriage talks.” I tell him and he nods but says nothing. He stands there for a few minutes before leaving finally. * * I laid on my bed, staring quietly at the ceiling as I counted the days to my misery. I didn’t trust Scott but I didn’t know if I could trust Elijah either. I had been friends with Elijah for a long time so you’d expect me to trust him more with everything Scott had said, I really don’t know who to trust anymore. Getting married to Scott will definitely put an end to my happiness and now, the thoughts of resigning as Gamma was slowly creeping into my head. That was the only option I had now since I had lost the zeal to serve. After all, it was because I wanted to be close to Elijah I decided to become the Gamma. Now that I have lost that, there’s no need holding on to the position. There is a loud knock on the door, disrupting my thoughts and I groan in annoyance, placing the pillow over my ears to block out the noise. I already know who it is, her presence was too strong to miss. It was definitely my mother. Realizing that I wasn’t going to let her in, she opens the door and lets herself. The sweet smell of cookies fill my nostrils, making my tummy rumble. “Elena? Honey, have some cookies. You need to eat something.” I heard the desperation in her voice as she spoke. It looked like she was on the verge of tears but I wasn’t going to be fooled by anyone ever again. “I cannot believe that you’d show your face here after selling me off to Alpha Damien.” I spit bitterly, taking the pillow of my face to look directly at her. Her eyes shook, filled with sadness as the tears she tried to hold in began to flow freely. “No, my dear. We’d never do that. You should know us better than this.” She sighed, shaking her head sadly. “We tried to reject the money he forced it on us so he could have a clean conscience.” She explained but that only infuriated me even further. “But you took it, didn’t you? Did it ever occur to you that Scott may end up playing one of his dangerous games and we’d be left with a huge debt to pay? How do you plan on paying him back when that happens?” I tell her and she waves her hand at me. “It was a ’ take it or not, but I’m still going to have my way ’ situation. He didn’t give us much of a choice. Even your stay at the Alpha Training Academy is sponsored by him.” She says and my eyes widen is shock at her last revelation. How am I just finding out about this? Just how long have they been plotting to sell me off? How can I be sure that my position as Gamma was actually earned? What if Alpha Damien is behind that too? She says quiet for a few minutes and then as if what I previously said clicks in her head, she turns to me with wide eyes. “Why will he call off the marriage and ask for his money? You haven’t done anything stupid, right?”
