FINNICK GREEN
There were eyes left and right just focused on me and solely me. I shifted in my seat, my head ducked into the book we were supposed to be taking notes inside of. Then came the whispers and the pointing and I swallowed, my throat feeling dry and anxiety bubbling up within me. I felt claustrophobic, there eyes pinning me down in my seat and making me feel overwhelmed with the attention.
My breathing became labored and that's when I felt that suffocation beginning to overtake me. I panicked, I'd have an anxiety attack and become the laughing stock. It wasn't like that wasn't already happening at the moment, they had these judgmental looks written across their faces. It wasn't on everyone's faces but they'd look behind at me and it was as if they were poking at me.
This was growing too much for me and I began breathing it audible pants and gasps, my leg began to twitch, my heartbeat accelerating as I shut my eyes and tried to remember my breathing exercises but it was as if they flew from my memory.
A growl ripped through the room, jerking me to halt in my beginning panic stages. I wasn't completely calmed down but I was able to recall how to breath and I allowed my eyes to flutter open. The eyes who once stared at me were turned back to the front of the classroom. I look to my left to see Declan, who had this class with me, with his hands clenched.
He wore a poker face and allowed his hands to unclench before he turned to look at me.
"Go home after this period," he told me.
My eyes widened but he looked like he wasn't in the mood conversation so I quietly and very much hesitantly nodded slowly. He turned back around and laid his head on the desk but he seemed completely and utterly bothered. I wanted so desperately to ask him why I was to go home, I also wondered about the growls he and Killian always emitted but that was a conversation for another day.
The period dragged on with this tension in the room that I assumed Declan had created with that growl but there eyes never turned back to look at me. I was truly grateful but that last for only a few precious moments as the bell rang and I packed up my stuff. I began walking out of class when Declan appeared at my back.
He placed a gentle hand on my back and was leading me towards the front entrance of the school. I stumbled in my steps before I became frustrated and stopped walking to turn to him.
"Why d-do I have to g-go home?" I ask quietly.
"You just do," he said with a lack of patience.
He tried to grab my wrist but I quickly avoided his hand and took a step back.
"C-can I atleast get my stuff f-from my locker?" I plead.
If he wasn't going to answer of my questions I had to at least get my notebooks and textbooks in order to do my homework while I left early from school. I wasn't even sure it was allowed for us to just leave school without reason but it didn't seem like Declan cared considering he used to be absent for most of the time. I cared very much about my attendance but I was afraid to argue with him and something inside me believed there was a scary reason as to why he wanted me to go home.
"Fine," he agreed with an exasperated sigh.
We began walking towards my locker, along the way I received stares and people would stop in the strides to get to class just to peer at me. Declan appeared behind me once again and pushed my back gently to go faster. I turned around and that's when I caught Declan glaring daggers at those who looked at me causing them to immediately avoid eye contact and look away. He noticed me looking at him and reached up to turn my head to face forward.
We get to my locker and I began to punch in my four digit code unlocking it. I pull it open and gasp as multiple papers fly out and drop at my feet. My eyes take in the numerous papers on the floor and my eyes squint as I bend to pick up one of the papers.
"s**t, Fin—" he cuts himself off realizing he was already late.
I'd seen what it was already. It was a picture of Killian and I from our date that was on Saturday night. I was hugging him tightly and my lips were on his and his arms were around my waist. We looked like a couple and though the picture was cute, my breathing constricted. Internally melting down, my shoes scrap against the floor creating a squeaking sound as I look around me and see people snickering slightly as they see the pictures scattered all across the floor.
Unable to formulate thoughts, I turn to the side and I watch as Kai frantically rips off the same repeated pictures off the wall. He's panting and rushing but once he turns, he sees me and falters, a frown on his face as he lets all the pictures he ripped off fall from his hands. He rushes to me and kicks away the pictures from my feet.
"Bolt..." He begins but says nothing more, unable to find words to say.
I didn't know how to feel inside. Seeing the pictures, I thought they looked adorable, it was Killian and I being intimate on the one and only date I've ever been on. It was a photo id want to keep to myself forever but such a moment was splattered everywhere and they were mocking me, mocking us. It made me feel smaller than I already thought I was.
I spot Killian walking down the hallway towards us and he dragging a guy with him by the shirt on the ground. His eyes were dark black with anger but once his eyes caught mine they softened almost immediately and he slowed in his steps. People watched him in fear and scattered, running in all directions as if to deflect his wrath.
Killian makes his way in front of us and sighs before slamming the guy against the locker. He groans and clutches the back of his head, staring at the ground to avoid Killians eyes.
"Pup, are you okay?" Killian asks me first and foremost.
He leaves the guy against the locker as he walks to my side and stands in front of me, shielding me from Declan and Kai as if giving me the isolation to break down if I wish to. I wasn't going to break down, I couldn't, not over this. I was petrified to have a repeat of what happened on that roof happen to me once again, that was my real fear.
"I-I'm okay," I confirm with a shaky voice.
Killian cups my face in his hands and lifts causing me to look at him. He places the gentlest kiss on my lips and I flush, melting against him and feeling much calmer than I felt previously. It was weird that I managed to get like this with him, it was almost unnatural how I managed to with him as if we were two puzzle pieces.
"You will be okay and I will be here even if I have to go to every single damn class you have, you will be safe," he said firmly.
I nod feeling reassured by his words. He gives me a kiss on my forehead before he pulls away and cracks his neck before he crouches down to the guy he dragged here and yanks on his collar bringing him up to his face. Venom laces his expression as he glares down at the guy, his aura changing completely from before.
"Which bastards did this?" Killian growls out in question.
"I-I-I swear I don't—" Killian cuts his words off as he slams his body into the locker, creating a dent and I wince.
Kai comes to my side and swings and arm around me to which Declan slips between us causing Kai to grumble in annoyance.
"If you want all your toes intact I suggest you start talking," Killian demands harshly.
The guy remains silent, still whimpering in pain and refusing to utter a word out. Killian snaps and engulfs the guys feet in his hands and begins to squeeze tightly. The guy screams and I flinch, unable to look at what was happening and touching Killians shoulder to calm him.
"Okay okay!" The guy cries out,"a girl, M-May Lee, she took the photos!"
Killian releases some pressure off the guys foot.
"Where do I find her," he questions.
"I can't—"
Killian begins to apply pressure once more and the guy screams.
"Okay! S-she should be in the p-photography room."
Killian released his foot entirely and stands, the guy cries as he cradles his foot. Killian has his fist clenched and irritation laces his expression. His eyes catch my anticipated ones and he sighs.
"Take Pup home," he instructs Declan.
"W-what? I want to come!" I urge.
"Pup—"
"Just let him come," Kai says and Killian glares at him causing him to sheepishly, involuntarily secure his safety by hiding behind Declan who scowls at Killian.
"Please," I plead.
Killian crumbles seeing the pout I wear and runs a hand down his face in frustration.
"Fine," he agrees.
He grabs my hand and we begin walking through the halls with Declan and Kai to tag along before we begin to walk upstairs and down a few halls once more. We make it to a double door classroom and Killian waste no time in ripped it open angrily. There isn't anyone in here besides a girl.
She's standing and taking pictures of fruit when she sees our appearance by the door and widens her eyes. She's quite small and looks to stand at five foot two inches. Her hair is in curls, the color of her hair a fading purple that I imagined were probably vibrant when they were first colored. Her features were small, her eyes small with colored blue contacts inside. Her lips were small as well but were colored with what I assumed was lipstick.
She was awfully and her skin was pale lacking color but she was stylish in what she wore. She was Asian, no doubt, but she was so adorable it was hard to think she'd do something like this.
Killian begins to take steps forward but I rush in front of him and hold out my hands to stop him. He looks down at me.
"Can me and Kai handle this?" I ask quickly.
Killian furrows his brow and I assume he plans to say no so I instantly cut him off before he can say it.
"She'll answer us, you and Declan will intimidate her," I reason.
He thinks about it and sighs, stepping backing and crossing his hands allowing his muscles to bulge in the shirt he's wearing and causing the tattoos he has to pop. I stare a bit and blush realizing what I was doing. His face expression tells me he knows I was basically checking him out but he's too defiant in his anger to even tease me about it.
I take Kai's hand and we walk over to the girl who looks hesitantly at us and looks back at Killian who glares at her and she gulps.
"What do you want?" She asks cautiously, dropping her camera on the desk.
"I, um w-well you s-see—" I planned to beat around the bush but Kai wasn't having it as he cut me off.
"Why the f**k did you litter intimate pictures that aren't meant for anyone's eyes all over the whole damn school?" Kai barked out in annoyance.
Her eyes widen and she tugs on the sleeves of her shirt nervously.
"I didn't," she tells us.
"Do you expect us to believe that bullshit?" Kai scoffs.
"Finnick," she looks at me, eyes begging me to believe her,"I swear I didn't, just hear me out."
"Hell n—"
"Okay," I say.
Kai's eyes widen and he looks at me like I'm crazy. I shake my head at him as if telling him it wouldn't hurt to hear here out. What criminal gets put in prison without hearing there claim? She looks relieved and thankful and she takes a breath out.
"Okay so I was at the planetarium the night of your date and I was going up to look at the stars to take pictures but then I saw you guys there. You guys just looked so cute, I-I had to take pictures, it's this thing about me where I love capturing moments and you two definitely had a moment going on. My only intention was to take them and give them to you guys as a keep sake but I don't know what happened, someone developed the pictures before I could and I just saw them all over the school and I swear I tried to rip them off the walls but there were so many," she explains without taking a moment to breath but she wasn't done.
"I'm so sorry, I never meant any malicious harm by posting them I swear," she pleaded for us to believe her.
I shift in my spot after hearing her story and chew on my lip as thoughts swarm all around. I contemplate everything she'd told us, thinking logically aswell as emotionally. I sigh finally releasing my bottom lip from my teeth.
"I believe—"
"How do we know she isn't lying?!" Kai screams hearing me about to forgive her.
"I'm not that kind of person," she insists.
"How do we know that," Killian is at my side.
She fidgets at his close presence, her cheeks turning a red hue and she tucks a strand of loose hair behind her pierced ear.
"Believe me or not, I have no reason to wish bad things upon Finnick," she tells us,"I like Finnick, he always helped me in class."
I narrow my eyes and it's then that I realized we share the same Psychology class together. She's a sweet girl truly, a bit sassy but a decent person usually.
"You could have a crush on Killian for all we know," Declan shrugs.
"Killian is gay—"
"Correction, Finnsexual," Kai says.
She raises a brow,"what the f**k does that even mean?"
"It means I'm only attracted to Finnick. It's Finnick or no one at all ever," Killian gruffs our rolling his eyes at the term, 'Finnsexual.'
Killian would deny being gay so often because it was a broad term that Kai came up with the term, 'Finnsexual.' I thought it was quite cute and it warmed my heart every time I heard it.
"Aww," she cooes, eyes looking between Killian and I.
I blush and I shift in my spot.
"If we're not to blame you, who do we blame? There are still photos all over the school and if people target Finnick things won't go lightly," Declan raises a brow.
"We need to at least know who developed the pictures and decided to spread them all over the school," I said calmly.
Kai looks hesitant but plays with his nose ring as he looks at me.
"Could it be Lyn?" He says slowly.
"Lyn?" May says suddenly, "she was at a sleep over with my sister and her friends this weekend at our house and they never left the house, I'd know, they were gossiping about...Killian."
"Were they raving about his di—" Kai cuts himself off instantly seeing as how Killians eyebrow raised,"Nevermind."
"My priority as of now is making sure Pup is okay, Declan you find out who did this," Killian said in this tone that demanded attention and sent shivers down my spine at how authoritative it came off.
Declan nodded immediately and May squealed.
"Pup? Is that like a pet name?" she asked with a bright smile.
The bell ring just as she asked and Declan began to leave, taking a Kai with him who groaned in irritation. Killian grabs my hand and we begin to walk away when small petite hands grab onto my own stopping me in my tracks and annoying Killian.
"I promise I'll catch whoever did this," she gives a supportive smile as if to tell me there would be justice.
"Thank you," I give her a small grin.
I know it was bad to automatically believe someone especially when they seemed to be the culprit but I was trusting like that, some may even say I was naive but I believed her even if there was a possibility that I'd be proven wrong.
We'd just have to see.
Who believes that May didn't do it? Do you think either May or Lyn did it? Time will tell.
I was thinking of doing the DecXKai spin off but I'm not really sure how to go about it.
The girl up there is May Lee just in case you were confused.
Unfortunately I've caught a really bad cold, it's so bad I couldn't even edit the mistakes in this. I just hope it doesn't take me a while to update because of how bad my body feels. I hope you understand.
Thank you for being amazing.
~xoxo, Babybird.
