From poverty to royalty

CHAPTER 4

I graduated at eighteen, one year older than average, albeit with honors as I set out to do.

Despite all this, inside me there was still a great emptiness, my mother had barely been dead for six months and that time had been a bit difficult.

Every day it was more difficult for me to continue concentrating on my studies, but little by little I returned to the course and managed to reach the proposed goal.

Lucy was a very big help at this stage, she never left me alone for a single moment, she knew very well that, even if I didn't say it, I needed someone by my side supporting me, and Lucy was always going to be that person who would be there.

Each got a part-time job, Lucy took care of the children of the owners of grapeVille's largest vineyard, two tender blonde gems that were  adorable,  they didn't give any problems. With this Lucy earned good money.

While I was a nursing home aide, I took care of the elderly, read them stories, or made them chocolate chip cookies that they loved. And I loved to see them happy.

Soon we went to live together, we already had money saved to pay the rent for several months and live comfortably in a building in the center of GrapeVille,it was not very big, but it had what it took for us to live comfortably. And we loved our apartment. 

This one had a slightly spacious living-dining room, a not very large, but very nice American kitchen that fulfilled its function, three medium bedrooms and three bathrooms, one in the part next to the living room and in each of our rooms there was a private bathroom.

There was a small library not very endowed with magnificent books, along with a floor-to-ceiling window where you could see the entire GrapeVille Valley and beyond,  HeavenhillCastle, for that reason I kept myself in that place, my favorite.

Lucy's boyfriend, yes, Professor Adams, got us a place in college at two of us.

In this town all university study was free, so the value of the study did not have to worry,although the university was very strict and we had to keep our averages high.

It was one of the most prestigious universities of all the towns that surrounded us, our town was small, but it stood out for many things, it was somewhat prestigious.

Even at GrapeVille University they came to study the ministers, governors, presidents, princes, princesses and kings of  GrapeVille,as well as the same of  Hillbigang,the enemy palace of  Heavenhill.

Everyone in GrapeVille  knew about the rivalry of these peoples, but no one understood the reason for it, many said that many years ago there was an infidelity or perhaps it was a scam, that is still in doubt. What's more, it was rumored that the current kings wondered why it was the dispute since they did not remember it. Or maybe they did and they ignored it. 

We would never know.

Returning to the university, I chose the career of business administration together with international relations, it was practically two careers in one and because it was so it did not last five years, but six, but it was valid as it was a double degree.

Lucy, on the other hand, chose a career in psychology, nothing to do with her strength in mathematics.

Lucy had a nice relationship with Luke, pretty no, she was beautiful!

Although at first he always rejected the feelings of the professor because he felt a lot of distrust with the male population, love can always with everything and yes it could with his cold heart.

I loved to see them together, they were a personified tiny.

Luke treated Lucy like an ice doll, fragile, delicate, his love for my friend was so noticeable. And that Luke did not want to be conquered by his student, although it was obvious that he was already surrendered to her.

I was arranging to go to class, Luke would come for us as usual.

I heard the sound of the horn, Luke was here.

"Lucy, hurry up,Luke is here,"  I said.

"I'm coming!" She jumped around the apartment looking for his bag while putting on her last shoe." Ouch! "I heard her scream when she tripped over the carpet in the living room and fell on her face, it was no secret to anyone that Lucy was the favorite hugger on the floor.

"Love." That was Luke, Lucy stood still with a silly smile, she was so tender."Let me help you”

Laughing, he helped her up from the ground.

"When will you stop giving me jealousy with the floor?" he said jokingly, he knew my friend very well to know that she had a face that she would soon release some vulgarity, but it was her boyfriend who spoke to her, Luke was just spectacular, she still didn't think he was her boyfriend." Lucy?

I laughed, one of my favorite hobbies was watching them and Lucy looked pathetic looking at him, another reason to the list: reasons to make fun of Lucy.

It was about time he realized it was his!

-Amm... this... Hello? Lucy babbled. Luke and I laughed, it was always the same. 

"Hello," Luke replied, giving her a chaste kiss on the lips, Lucy turned red with embarrassment, I laughed harder. It was amazing, these two were the best couple in the world for me.

"Hey, I'm sorry to interrupt your passionate encounter, but we have to go. "Neither of them seemed to hear me." Now! I exclaimed. The personified tenderness returned to reality, both laughed and walked to the exit.

I smiled, what would I do without this pair?

After a lot of laughs in Luke's car, we arrived at the university.

Luke took Lucy's hand and took her to the entrance of his faculty.

I liked being in college, I was optimistic and I knew that big changes were coming in my life.

I was sure.

- I'm coming! - I jump around the apartment looking for her purse while she put on the last zapator - Auch! - I heard her scream when she stumbled on the carpet in the living room and fell face down, for no one it was a secret that Lucy was the favorite huddler on the ground

-Love - that was Luke, Lucy stood still with a silly smile, she was so tender - let me helpyou.

Laughing, I helped her get off the ground.

- when will you stop making me jealous of the ground? - she told her jokingly, she knew my friend very well to know that she had a face that she would soon release some vulgarity, but it was her boyfriend who spoke to her, Luke was simply spectacular, she still did not think it was her boyfriend - Lucy?

I laughed, one of my favorite pastimes was watching them, and Lucy looked pathetic looking at him, another reason to the list: reasons to make fun of Lucy.

It's about time you realized it was yours!

- Amm.. This.. Hello? - Lucy, Luke and I babbling, it was always the same.

"Hello," Luke replied by giving her a chaste kiss on her lips, Lucy turned red from shame, laughed louder. These two were the best time in the world for me. 

- Hey, I'm sorry to interrupt your passionate encounter, but we have to go - neither of us seemed to hear me - NOW! - the personified tenderness returned to reality, both laughed and walked to the exit.

Smile, what's been going on without this pair?

After a lot of laughter in Luke's car, we got to college.
