Chapter 45 - Kerby's family

Today is the day that Leyzel will talk to Kerby's parents. Leyzel asked Joffiel to come with her so that she can see if his parents are really kind.

"Tomorrow, I will go back to work. If you need my help, you can text or call me," Joffiel said.

"Noted, Joffiel. Don't worry, I can do this. I need to finish my task on my own so that our Creator will forgive my mistakes," Leyzel promised.

"Okat, that's good. Having a positive mind can lead you to a successful task. I trust you and I know that you can do it. You are almost done and Heaven, our home, is already waiting for you," Joffiel said.

The car stopped in front of a big gate. Leyzel talked to the guard and immediately allowed the car to enter the gate. Joffiel and Keidi were surprised by the look of the house. It is a big mansion and you can say that the owner of this has a successful business.

"Their house is so awesome. It's like a dream to every person," Keidi said.

"They are really successful when it comes to business. Sadly, their family is riotous," Leyzel said.

"I see. It is because of your ex-boyfriend, right?" Keidi asked. "Go ahead. I will wait for you guys here. I don't want to interfere."

Joffiel and Leyzel went inside the Mansion. The maids greeted and assisted them to meet Kerby's parents.

"People here really like you!" Joffiiel noticed.

"Even though I am not rich like them, they treated me like their own child. I communicated to them when I started my task, hoping to make them happy again. I didn't know that it was hard. I thought it would end easily," Leyzel said.

So this is how a family will treat you if you become the lover of their daughters or sons. Interesting. Joffiel thought to herself.

Leyzel felt the love of having a family because of Kerby's parents and sister. Since Kerdy has no money because his parents cut all his cards, Leyzel was the one who was helping him for his daily needs. He did not know that his parents were giving Leyzel budget for their additional daily needs. Now that they ended their relationship, Leyzel did not accept the latest money his mother was giving.

"Leyzel! I am glad that you are here. How are you?" Kerby's mother said.

"Hello, Auntie. I am doing great now. How about you and Uncle?" Leyzel said.

"Your uncle is busy preparing a big event for our company. Keiara is in her room," Kerby's mother said. "By the way, are you with your friend? This is my first time seeing her."

Joffiel greeted her with a smile. She already gained the trust of Kerby's mother. Just like Leyzel, they see Joffiel as a kind and honest woman.

"I am Clara. You can call me auntie if you want. I really thought you and Leyzel were sisters. I hope my son will be like you two. Still hoping that he will change and accept our decision that Keiara is the company's Heiress. We have resorts and restaurants and we are planning to give it to Kerdy, but he refused," Clara said.

Their properties are no joke. Even if Kerby accepted the resorts and restaurants, he would still gain a high income. Unfortunately, he was blind to the fact that the company will generate more income.

Joffiel was amazed by Clara for being open to them. It would make Leyzel's task easier.

"Did he explain why the company is what he wants?" Joffiel asked.

"At first, he already agreed that his sister would take over the company. I don't know why he became a rebel and started to oppose all our decisions," Clara said in a sad tone.

"I think it is because of the influence of his friends. We saw him yesterday and he was with his friends and new girlfriend. Based on our experience, his friends are not good to be with. They even invited us to join them and didn't think about our younger sister's situation," Joffiiel explained.

Clara is thinking of who her son's friends are. She didn't remember her son introducing his friends to their family.

Keiara went down the stairs and joined them. She overheard the last topic they were discussing.

"I know his friends. I also don't like them being with my brother. They taught Kerby to drink and smoke. Even his new girlfriend is not good for him. Based on my investigation, she only wants Kerby's inheritance. Her real boyfriend is one of Kerby's friends. I don't know how to tell him since he hates me so much. He won't believe me," Keiara said.

"You really investigated them?" Clara asked and was really shocked.

Keiara nodded. She confirmed, "Yes, Mom. When I first saw that woman, my doubts started. Until one day, I got to know all his friends' names and investigated them as well."

"I really hope that he will realize that and go back to Leyzel. Leyzel was there in his hard times. He deserves someone who will love him for who he is, not because of money," Clara said.

Joffiel sees how much Kerby's family cares for Leyzel. Unfortunately, Leyzel and Kerby are not destined for each other. She hopes that one day, they will understand Leyzel.

"Thank you, Auntie. I just want to help him become a better person and be with your family again. I have no plans on becoming his lover for the second time around. I will leave this city once he is back to your Mansion. I am sorry if I already moved forward, Auntie and Keiara. I really loved him and I really did. There's just something that is not for us," Leyzel explained.

The mother and daughter felt sad. They really like Leyzel for Kerby. Kerby lost a good woman just for his friends.

"If that's your decision, Leyzel, it's okay with us. Always remember that we are still your family. Thank you for helping us to get Kerby back. How I wish he can listen to us," Clara said.

"Where are you going? Don't you like to work under our company or resort? I thought you don't have relatives?" Keiara said.

"I will go back to the place I was born. Joffiel will help me so don't worry about it. I already resigned at my last job since I already planned this. Before I go, I want to see Kerby genuinely happy again," Leyzel said. "Before that, can I have proof that his new girlfriend is also his friend's girlfriend? I don't want you to fight so let me handle him."

Keiara is a bit hesitant but still managed to trust Leyzel and handed her a folder. The folder has a lot of pictures and there is also a flash drive which contains all the videos from different angles of CCTV footage. They watched it and confirmed that Kerby is being cheated on by all his friends.

Joffiel cannot believe that there are people who can do such a crime. They treat Kerby as a friend just because he is rich. His friends also planned the break up of Kerby and Leyzel.

"How low can they go? Their friendship disgusts me. If ever you are planning to talk to him, please let me join you. I cannot afford seeing them bullying you. As his mother, I was saddened by the fact that he fell to such a group of friends. Maybe he is not really their friend," Clara said.

"Actually, I am willing to give Kerby the company and I will be the one who will manage the resorts and restaurants. But he needs to learn his lessons first. Just making sure that he will not let the company fall. It is our parents' hard work afterall," Keiara said.

Kerby's sister is too kind. Joffiel can see the green color of Clara and Keiara. Kerby is the only one who Lezyel needs to change. Her task will never be accomplished if the red color wouldn't turn to a green one.

"Let's check him in his apartment tomorrow. He has no choice but to go back there. The parents of his new girlfriend do not even know him," Keiara said.

"Then I will wait for you there?" Leyzel asked.

"No, we will come to your place. You don't need to commute or walk. Just give me your new address," Keira answered.

After their conversions, they went home. Leyzel cooked for their dinner while Joffiel is doing paperwork for her job tomorrow.

"Looks like your task will be finished too early. Are you ready to go home?" Joffiel asked.

"Excited, of course. Well, it is our home just like what you have said. I will miss this place but I miss living in Heaven more," Leyzel answered. "Can't wait to see you there. I know you can accomplish all your tasks."

"Yes, yes! Let's meet there when the right time has come," Joffiel said. "After eating, go back to your bed and take a rest. Kerby's family will go there in our apartment tomorrow. Rest assured that they are kind."

Joffiel cooked for their breakfast since Leyzel is still sleeping. She also needs to go to work early and Leyzel on the other hand, will go to Kerby's apartment with his mother and sister.

Sheena went to Joffiel's apartment just to greet her and Leyzel. She's back to school again after a long holiday vacation.

"Leyzel, wake up. Eat your breakfast and prepare yourself. Miss Clara and Keiara will be here any moment," Joffiel said.

"Yes, Joffiel. Give me a minute," Leyzel said.

After a few minutes, they eat together. Joffiel noticed the second star on her bracelet. She did not tell about it on Leyzel just to make sure it won't bother her.

There are a few more days left for Leyzel to stay here in the Human world. Joffiel will definitely miss her but she assured herself that they will meet again in Heaven.

"How's your feeling? Are you ready to talk to him" Joffiel asked.

Leyzel nodded. She answered, "I prepared myself for this day. I hope he will listen to his parents and sister."

"I think you will make it today. Trust yourself. Inform me later what will happen," Joffiel said. "Here is your spare key in case you will go home earlier than me."

"Thank you, Joffiel. You are really advanced in thinking," Leyzel said.

"Well, we really need to think in advance just like a normal person. Having plans can make your life more advanced and productive," Joffiel said. "By the way, I will leave now since I don't want to be late at work. See you later!"

Leyzel went out of the apartment when Keiara called her. She is still hoping that this day will be an improvement day for her task.

She gets in the car and sits beside Clara. Clara sighed and looks like she is stressed today.

"Is there a problem?" Leyzel asked.

"I'm just nervous. This will be the first time I will talk to Kerby when he's not in our home. I hope that he will pursue college for his own sake and future. He is just 19 but the company is the only thing on his mind. How would he manage the company if he keeps on doing this to our family?" Clara said.

"He will realize it sooner, Auntie. He still has time to improve and be mature enough to handle this kind of situation. Just don't give up on him, if you do, he will feel that no one cares for him," Leyzel said.

"That's right, Mom. Let's fight for his peace of mind. He needs to get out of a toxic relationship with his friends. If he thinks that his friends are only the one who will listen to him, let's show him that we are just here for him and we are not planning to leave him behind," Keiara interjected.

Leyzel was happy because Kerby's family is too kind. He is blessed to have an understanding parents and a sister. What he needs to learn is to respect and love his own family.
