Malachi’s POV
I jumped out of the shower with a new spring in my step. I had no idea what I was really going to do, or what I thought I was going to achieve, but doing something felt better than doing nothing at all. I wasn’t sure how much more of Eero’s whimpering I could take.
Truth be told, the feeling of emptiness that was spreading through my chest and leaving a deep void was beginning to cause me pain. I had been less than 24 hours, but for most shifters, the connection was almost instantaneous, so I had no one to turn to, to see if what I was feeling was normal.
