Forgetting the Alpha King

Disbanding the harem

Allisters POV 

After putting down our shot glasses we walk towards the elevator to get to the council meeting. Before I step in I’m hit with a strong fragrance of cinnamon and vanilla. Lance starts pacing back and forth and I already recognize the smell. 

“It’s from the campsite” Lance whispers. 

I also smell a hint of wood, but not only that other people here too. I forgot that we shared this elevator with others since the guest elevator was down due to the earlier incident or shall I say prank. I search for the fragrance and rub my hand against the couch. My body starts to curl up underneath me and I sit on the couch embracing the scent. 

“I love this scent” I said to Lance. 

“I do as well,” said Lance. I’m wondering if this is my mates smell, but why can’t I find a definite answer for that. 

“You think she can mask her scent?” said Lance to me. 

“Why would she hide her scent if she is masking it?” we both said at the same time. 

“We need to figure this out fast and soon before she finds us” we both nod in agreement. 

But first we must deal with disbanding the harem. 

“Are you sure you are ready to be with your mate?” Lance asks. 

“Isn’t it obvious” I say back to Lance. 

I have waited for her for 4 years and I finally gave up. We find our mates at age 18. I am 22 now with no luck in finding her. I stayed behind to find her instead of traveling the world and going to school. To be honest I wanted to live the college life with partying and messing around with other girls. I loved being the jock in high school. The popular life was my thing. Head captain on the football team dating the captain of the cheer leading squad. 

Prom King and Queen as naturally selected. I of course cheated on her and she of course loved me. I never wanted to be tied down to anyone. As high school went by with a blink of an eye I still did not find my mate and I wasn’t looking anymore. I lived my playboy life and partied more and went clubbing. I was planning to go to college but for some reason dad wanted to leave and stepped down from being King and appointed me since I am next in line. 

Now I am here a King with a harem doing whatever I want and whoever I want.

As we start going down the elevator to the first floor I state to my brother and beta, “Before I go into this meeting I’m going to disband the harem and announce that I will try to find my Luna. And both of you will accompany me.” 

They both looked at me and smirked knowing I’m uneasy due to my Luna coming into my life soon. 

“As you wish our king” they both say at once smirking and bowing annoyingly to me. 

Whatever. 

The party has already started and there is light dancing and talking among all the young ones. You can see a few have already found their mates and already want to start the mating process, but this is a 4 day event so they must wait before leaving off with their mates. As we walk into the ballroom everyone bows and we walk to the podium. 

Time to be king, “Welcome everyone to our annual Kings ball. We hope that you have settled in well in your rooms and here at the castle. As you know, today is a day where we get to mingle with others from around the world hoping to find our mates and more. In about an hour we will start serving entrees for dinner and then a performance after by a special guest and crew. After we will open the floor to dance for everyone to enjoy. “ I say while everyone applauds. 

“With that being said, I also have another announcement” everyone quiets waiting for my next words. 

“As I am now King I have decided it’s time for me to find a Luna” I hear whispers in the background and see smiles of all the shewolves darting straight towards me. 

“I have decided to disband my harem and look for your future queen.” I say happily. 

Everyone applauds and bows down congratulating me on my decision. 

I darted my eyes to my beta who I know mind linked my gamma as to why I made this announcement as I see my gammas face with a confused expression. Next thing I see is a huge grin on his face and smirk from both of them looking back at me. I just roll my eyes and get ready to walk to the meeting. 

“I hope that you enjoy the rest of the start of this evening and for the rest as well” I say while ending my little speech and walking off the stage to walkout of the ballroom. 

Instantly the lead in my harem latches onto my arm and walks me out of the ballroom. I can hear whispers saying that she will be the next Luna. I’m not happy with this at all and irritated at the fact they think she is the next Luna. While we are walking I hear a growl and sink in hoping to moon goddess that it is not my mate for I know she will not be happy seeing another shewolf on me. I instinctively move her arm off me and she looks up at me hurt. 

The next thing takes me by surprise. 

“Hello my King, I am Rose, daughter of the Alpha of the Silk Moon pack in Italy. It is a pleasure to meet you” she says as she bows down and curtsy. 

She’s pretty but she is not my mate. Thank you Moon Goddess for saving my ass today. I can see behind her that the growl was coming from her mate. How sorry I feel for him as he glares daggers at me. 

“Hello Rose it is nice to meet you.” I say and nod to her. 

“I was hoping that you could save a dance for me later this evening?” She asked. 

I know she’s not even my mate but since everyone is staring I will be cordial. 

“I may have my night filed for this evening, but if I have an extra spot open I will let you know” I say to her. 

She nods and I announce that I must leave for the council meeting. I walked out of the hall and walked towards the hallway.

“You are quiet again, Lance why is that?” I say to Lance. 

“While you were handling business you didn’t notice the same scent was in the room,” he says mad at me. 

“She’s here and she didn’t make her presence known. You ruined it by letting that w***e hold your hand while we walked off the stage. And to make things worse, it disappears as soon as we walked out of the ballroom.” 

He says more annoyed at me. Man I messed up again. I can’t think straight. I turned around and went back into the ballroom trying to find the scent again and it was gone. Moon goddess help me find her before I lose her again. I can’t find her scent and I don’t know why she’s masking herself but please help me find her. 

As soon as I say that I see a few Goblins bringing out appetizers and pick up on her scent. Why would her scent be on Goblins of all creatures? I follow the scent more and walk towards the kitchen. I’m hit with more of her scent and follow it towards the maids quarters. Is she a maid here? It couldn’t be I would’ve smelled her a long time ago and why would her scent be at the campsite and then in the elevator. 

That’s when it hit me. She must be in the council or a family member of the council for they sometimes bring friends or family members with them during their stay here. It has to be! I walk in unannounced and the whole kitchen staff stopped what they were doing and bowed. 

“Please continue working, I am just having trouble finding something I have lost” I say to the kitchen staff. 

“Is there anything we can do to find or help you with my King?”, the head chef speaks with kindness. 

I nod my head saying no as I follow the scent out the back door of the kitchen. 

As I walk out my gamma catches up with me and elbows me saying, “You need to go to the meeting like ASAP they are waiting for you and the faster we get this done the faster we can go looking for her".  

“Fine! You’re lucky I have pinpointed that she is here. As soon as I said that I heard a metal shriek and saw above in my mom’s garden that the swing was moving back and forth. Oh hell no! 

“Get whoever is playing in my moms garden out of there before I kill them myself” I yelled at my gamma. 

“Okay okay, go to the meeting and I will get them out! See you in an hour or two” he says while walking to the garden. 

Inconsiderate bastards! Who gives anyone the right to allow themselves into a private garden where obviously no one is allowed to be in. Keep in mind why was the guards not aware or even alerted me that someone was in there. I will deal with them later. Now on to get this meeting over with. 

Zack’s POV

I can’t believe what Jalen was saying was true. Allister literally started the harem a few months ago and is already disbanding it because he thinks he found his mate. There is no way he did because if he did he would’ve already sensed her. But we shall see what happens next. 

I knew I was supposed to go to the garden right after, but I remember a beautiful shewolve waiting for me upstairs so I dashed for a quickie and I’ll return back to the garden after in about an hour or two. As I walk towards the garden I hear noise coming from it and see a fairy and a human coming out from the garden. A human? Why would a human be here? I was about to scold them for trespassing seeing that I know that fairy works in the kitchen staff area when I was hit with a powerful scent. 

I followed the scent and it was towards the Luna. Oh s**t! It’s her! 

“The human is our Luna?” Nile's my wolf says questioningly. 

That is definitely her. She already has Luna aura all over her. I hit the corner and was confirmed while I caught two of our strongest warriors leaning against the garden wall stunned and dumbfounded as I was. No wonder they never alerted or kicked her out they can’t! So they just stayed there protecting her. That makes a lot of sense now. I knew something was up with our warriors today but couldn’t catch on and now I know. 

I am going to love telling the King this as I smirk seeing the two warriors sensing my presence knowing what I know too while they put their heads down. I hear the garden door open and we three turn around like we are patrolling the area and walk away. I turn back and look at our new Luna. 

She is beautiful. She has long black and silver hair with tan skin. Blue eyes that can search your soul with a powerful powerful Luna aura for sure. With curves that compliment her body. She’s not tall but she’s not short and she has a smile that can put any evil person in a slumber of happiness. 

“Our king is in trouble” Nile’s says. 

I agree. While I’m thinking that me and the other soldiers run into each other and laugh as we bump heads. 

“Looks like we are all distracted with this secret?” I say to the other two. 

“ I will be the one to tell our King, but to be honest I will let him find her on his own since he made me sit with the older wolves knitting blankets for 6 hours because I showed up 3 minutes late for a meeting” I tell them while we all laughed. 

“Oh what’s so funny I want to know?” I turn around shocked as I recognized who this voice could be. 

We turn around and all at once bowed down and said Luna. Our hearts stopped because we know we just got caught. I want to hide. King is going to kill me since I didn’t tell him and I know everyone heard through the mindlink what we said. 

“Run, run for your life”, Nile’s says cowardly. 

“We apologize if we have disturbed your outing here in the castle” as we bow down before our Luna. 

“No need for that I just heard laughing and must’ve thought it had to be that funny if you guys laughed that loud and hard.” She said 

“It was just a bet we made on who could stay quiet while patrolling the area. We can get bored sometimes while walking around patrolling” I said as they looked at me and gave the “that’s all you came up with look”. I just shrugged my shoulders.

 Kill me already I just can’t lie to her it feels wrong. 

“He hasn’t even mated with her yet and her presence is already very well known to us” we mind link each other between the soldiers and I. 

“Must be an inside joke then” she laughs and starts walking away from us. 

“See you guys later” she waves and we all instantly wave back. 

We watch her walk towards the castle and wait in silence till she is out of site. As soon as she is gone all three of us take a breath as we didn’t realize we held our own. By then we didn’t realize that our king was mind linking us in a separate link asking us what is going on. 

“My King, we just met our Luna” I say to him. 

Silence is all we heard from him. 

“King is going to push this meeting so fast to find her” I say to the warriors while we grin at each other ready to enjoy this mating ball.
