Forgetting the Alpha King

Meeting My Mate Part 1

Kana’s POV

As we were walking to the castle you can see many kids about the same age as me and a bit older in beautiful elegant dresses and suits walking to the ballroom. It looks like this was the annual ball mom was talking about. All the girls looked so pretty and proper. Something I am so not. You can tell a few females were talking about how boring I looked and of course I stared back at them. 

They don’t phase me. I can put them in their place at any time. Plus im not here for the ball. I was just dragged here till my parents were done with their meeting. I said bye to Bella as she flew back to the kitchen and she bowed to me as well. What’s with all this bowing? How weird? The custom here is so proper. I was surprised that she left with me and took me wherever I wanted to go. I will ask her why the next time I see her. As I hit the corner I hear laughter and come across three men. They look like warriors. 

“Oh what’s so funny I want to know? I asked them. 

I was so bored and I wanted to make new friends so why not. They turned around and all at once bowed down and said Luna. Why the heck did they bow and say Luna? 

“We apologize if we disrupted your outing here in the castle” as they bow down to me again. 

Again with the bowing ugh. The one speaking sounds like he has authority over the two. 

“No need for that I just heard laughing and must’ve thought it had to be that funny if you guys laughed that loud and hard.” I said to them. 

“It was just a bet we made on each of us who could stay quiet while patrolling the area. We can get bored sometimes while walking around patrolling” the one guy said to me. 

The others stayed quiet and looked at the ground the whole time like little children. It was adorable and funny. I wanted to laugh but I didn’t since I feel like they would get embarrassed if I did. 

“Must be an inside joke then” I laugh and start walking away from them. 

Clearly I've interrupted something. I can sense a slight awkwardness in this conversation. 

“See you guys later” as I say to them while turning around and waving back at them. 

I was surprised all three of them waved back instantly. And turned around and walked back to the castle. 

This meeting should definitely be done now. As I walked to the top of the stairs I knocked into a very high ranked vampire. He was proper, courteous and well mannered. 

“Sorry for knocking into you sir. I can be a bit lost at times when I wander around.” I said as politely as I could. 

He looked at me and said, “ No harm in knocking into a pretty girl”. 

As I smiled back at him. He already knew I was not a werewolf and asked why I was there. 

“My mom and dad are here for the council meeting. They are the Blake’s. 

He looked at me with curious eyes and said, “ Ah okay! I am Mr. Ventalli.” He smiles back at me and I nod. 

“I hope you like the remaining stay here at the castle.” He says politely back to me. 

As he says, “Good bye” he told me to call him Stefan and that he will see me again some day.

I walked to the front and mom signaled me to come by her. 

“Hey mom” I waved to her. 

“Hi darling. I see you explored a bit around the castle?” Mom says while letting dad talk to someone else on the side. 

“I Sure did! I found a spot where…  she cut me off and told me to wait for her and dad upstairs on the balcony while they finish up. 

Then they can leave after. I sensed something was wrong so I moved quickly and out of the way. I know that voice she just gave. So I walked over to the balcony and waited. My parents always take forever when talking to other adults. It's so boring here now and I want to go home already to see Jax and show him my wings. 

I jumped on top of the balcony ledge and sat at the edge of it. The view was breathtaking, the moon was almost all the way out and the moon's reflection in the water fountain looked mesmerizing. I wanted to touch it and leaned closer down looking towards the fountain. As I moved forward I slipped off the ledge. I freaked out because I knew for a fact that I would have to use my wings to make it alive since I was on the 3rd floor, I think. Dad is going to kill me! 

As soon as I was about to flex my wings open two large muscular arms wrapped around me and pulled me up. I felt a tingling sensation forming around my whole body. What the heck was that? And who the heck pulled me back up? I turned around and saw dark black crimson eyes. 

Beautiful dark eyes, eyes that held lust and love and worry and excitement in them. Who was this person? Why is he still holding me? I hope I don't get into trouble for this? My parents are going to kill me! He pulled me over the rail but still held on to me. This guys was totally weird he kept sniffing my neck yet I didn't flinch at all. Weird! I held my breath the whole time as I could feel his body tense and squeeze me tighter.

“Ummm hello. You can let me down now and thanks for saving my ass I really appreciate it.” I said to him. 

He pulled back from me and still held me but put some distance between us. I could still feel the tingles in my body from his touch. I actually liked it a lot.  He was handsome. He had dark hair with a chiseled muscular face and no facial hair. He had a tattoo on the side of his ear. Looks like some type of feathers and a tooth? His torso was definitely cut and I can see his muscles coming through his suit. 

I can sense that he is breathing hard that even a little distance between us I can definitely feel his breathe going down my neck still. Silence was a comfortable silence to us and for some reason I felt like he was going into shock. So I stepped forward and tried to release myself.
