Ch.6 Feel The Curiosity

They were already in the backyard. Shea and Sofia were sitting on metal chairs not far from the pool. Shea immediately fastened the strap of her kimono while Sofia poured tea into a cup. "Here is your tea. Drink it," Sofia said as she pushed Shea's cup away. "Thank you," Shea replied with a smile. She still felt bad for Sofia for thinking about taking advantage of the woman's feelings. "Have you lived here long?" Sofia asked, starting the conversation. Her expression was so friendly that it made Shea feel comfortable with her. Shea shook her head. "No, I haven't. I just got here last night." "I thought you'd been with Marco for a month," Sofia said as she sipped her tea. Shea just smiled and drank her tea. She also took the curros that were served with the tea. Meanwhile, Sofia quietly watched Shea. "You're ... not curious why Marco and I got divorced?" Sofia asked. "It seems too personal. I didn't want to offend you," Shea replied. Sofia smiled without taking her eyes off of Shea. "What a naif," she muttered to herself. She rolled her eyes, remembering Shea's attitude a few minutes ago. "There was a problem that put a strain on our relationship. In fact, we haven't gotten an official divorce yet, because maybe Marco is still in love with me," Sofia said, looking at Shea, who had a serious look on her face as she listened to her story. "Did you know Marco for a long time before?" "No, I didn't. Actually .... " Shea lowered her head. She took a breath that suddenly felt heavy. She didn't know if she should tell Sofia the truth about the incident or lie. "Do you have to be here?" Sofia asked, lowering her tone. Shea immediately raised her head. She turned to Sofia. He was stunned to hear the woman's question. Then Sofia smiled. She took Shea's hand and held it. "You can tell me everything. I will definitely help you if you are in trouble. And... I can be your friend while you are here." "I... " Shea closed her eyes while she took a deep breath and continued speaking. "I don't really want to be here. I was kidnapped and sold to Marco. And the reason I dressed up like this was because I thought you would get angry and throw me out. So that I could get out of this house easily. I'm sorry I tried to use you." Shea looked around and then back at Sofia. "Can I ask you something?" she asked in a tone that suddenly sounded hesitant and scared. "Sure. You can ask me anything," Sofia replied, nodding her head. "Actually, what does Marco do?" Shea asked, making Sofia's forehead wrinkle as Shea looked around as if checking the situation and then brought her face closer. Shea continued her words in a whisper. "Do you know the room in the back? I saw a body in there." "It must be one of Marco's enemies. You have nothing to fear," Sofia replied. "What is Marco really doing? He acts like he's not afraid of the police." Shea was still curious. She paused for a moment and looked away. But only for a few seconds. She looked back at Sofia. "Is he a Mobster?" she asked in a whisper. Sofia was about to answer Shea's question. She turned to the side, followed by Shea. They saw Marco coming. Sofia stood up immediately. Shea's attention was drawn to her. "I'm going to go in first," she said as she walked toward Marco. Shea watched Sofia's back until the woman passed Marco, as did Marco, without greeting each other. After Marco was in front of Shea, Sofia turned her head back to look at them briefly. Then she continued walking. Marco looked at Shea from head to toe, causing Shea to turn her face away. "Where did you get those clothes?" Marco asked with a smile. Shea suddenly stood up. "None of your business!" she snapped, then walked away to catch up with Sofia. She didn't want to be around Marco with his ridiculous appearance. The man would definitely laugh at the lipstick marks on her neck and chest. As Shea was about to pass Marco, the man actually grabbed Shea's arm, causing her to try to escape. But Shea stopped struggling when she saw Marco's eyes fixed on her neck. The man furrowed his brow, then moved a hand to wipe away the lipstick marks on Shea's neck. "What's that?" Marco asked, laughing as if to tease Shea. Shea immediately wiped the lipstick marks from her neck roughly. Her face turned red with embarrassment. "Are you pretending to make a red mark on your neck? How ridiculous." "So what, I can't do that, huh?" Shea snapped. As if not to be outdone by the man, she tried to bury her embarrassment by raising her face to Marco. "If that's what you want, just tell me. I'll give it to you all over." "In your dreams!" Shea was still bluffing. Then she pointed at Marco's face as her gaze sharpened. "Listen, Mr. Torres, who doesn't know himself. I don't belong to you. To hell with the money you gave those kidnappers. I don't care. I belong to myself. My body, my soul, my mind, my heart, my happiness and my sorrow, are absolutely mine. Not yours or anyone else's. And don't ever wish you could touch my body. Don't ever wish you could make love to me. Then Shea slowed her speech. "It's all in your dreams," Shea hissed and pulled his hand roughly to loosen Marco's grip. But it didn't work. Marco gripped Shea's hand even tighter, making the woman try harder to pull her hand away. Finally, the grip was released. But Shea's body, already at the edge of the pool, immediately fell into the water. Suddenly, Shea panicked because she couldn't swim. Both of her hands tried to grab hold of something as she clawed at the surface of the water. "Help!" Shea cried in distress, her mouth full of water. Marco glanced over and thought Shea was joking. "Help me!" Shea screamed again. Her body sank deeper into the water. Marco was silent for a moment. He had his eyes on Shea, who was sinking deeper and deeper into the water. Finally, Marco took off his suit and threw it away. Then he jumped into the pool. Marco's one hand grabbed Shea's hand and pulled her in. He hugged her and took her to the side of the pool. He also lifted Shea's body before getting out of the pool. Marco immediately administered first aid. He also gave Shea artificial respiration. "Shea. Open your eyes." Marco patted Shea's cheek in the middle of his gasping breath. Marco gave Shea another breath. Meanwhile, Alejandro ran up to Marco and Shea when he saw their wet clothes. Alejandro stood ten feet away from Shea and Marco. "Shea," Marco called anxiously as he took several artificial breaths. Shea coughed as water poured from his mouth. Marco breathed a sigh of relief as he moved his face away from Shea. He removed the tie that was strangling his neck as he caught his breath. Meanwhile, from the direction of the door, Sofia, who had been watching, clenched both hands to see Marco's efforts at helping Shea. Sofia immediately turned and walked away as if she didn't want to see Marco with Shea.
