Low-key luxury items decorated the large living room. The beautiful designs were very matching and eye-catching, except that currently, the stiff ambiance in the living room will make one unable to enjoy the eye-catching sight.
The furious typing on Corby's keyboard continuously broke the stifling ambiance.
Since last night, Valencia has disappeared after she went to meet Mr. Hunt at the Exquisite Club, and every clue that can be used to trace whoever kidnapped Valencia has been cleared, causing the members of the Cirillo family to be worried.
Aviva bit her quivering lower lip and clenched her fist. Last night, Aviva planned to go with Valencia to the club, but Valencia vehemently refused.
Because Aviva had just arrived home after the multiple hours spent on the plane, Valencia insisted Aviva should stay back and rest while promising to be back within one or two hours, but who knew it's been over 12 hours and they hadn’t found Valencia’s location? It’s as if Valencia had disappeared into thin air!
“I shouldn't have let her leave alone last night. I should have insisted and followed her,” Aviva muttered, lowering her head in guilt. Had she insisted on following Valencia to the club, none of this would’ve happened!
Valencia had just arrived in Lex yesterday, and she was missing on the same day; how wouldn't they be worried?
Raven Cirillo sighed, wrapped her hands around Aviva, and hugged her to console her. “Aviva, no one expected that last night would end up that way.” Although Raven tried to comfort Aviva, she also couldn't help feeling guilty. Valencia had gone through a lot, and now she...
The most bewildering thing was that the person had done everything to destroy the evidence. All the CCTV footage had been erased, and all the people who attended the exquisite club last night kept saying that nothing happened in the club the night before. Even Mr. Hunt had disappeared into thin air!
The two elite guards that followed Valencia last night were suddenly teamed up by a strange group that fought and beat both of them until they were almost on the brink of death.
Although the two Cirillo guards who followed Valencia were elite, the strange group was elite, and they also overwhelmed the two bodyguards with numbers. And that made everything confusing.
That person’s precise actions made it hard to trace if the person went after Valencia because of Valencia or if the person went after Valencia because of the Cirillo bodyguards who were protecting Valencia in the club.
Raven’s head lowered, and a wicked glint flickered past her eyes. Once they ever get their hands on who had his or her hands on Valencia, they'll make that person pay extremely.
Fleet Cirillo’s brows knitted slightly. His gaze fell on Corbyn, who was typing on a custom-made laptop while talking to someone through a Bluetooth device, and he felt a strong sense of pride.
“Corbyn, have you found out whose guard...”
Before Raven could complete his words, he saw the cute quadruplets gloomily making their way towards them from the corner of his eyes, and he quickly paused his words in order not to make the quadruplet suspicious.
The family sat up and tried to keep a calm expression. After all, they all knew how smart the quadruplet was, and seeing the quadruplet’s grim expression, they all knew that the quadruplet must be worried and suspicious about Valencia's absence.
Aviva bent towards the quadruplet and extended her hand to carry Iris, a feigned joyful smile plastered on her face. “Cute princess, come to Godmom.”
Iris pursed her cute lips, took a step back, and shook her head grimly, evading Aviva’s outstretched hands. She stuck to Orson, Hudson, and Iverson’s sides immediately.
The four of them directly stared at the Cirillo family solemnly; the quadruplet were so serious that they didn’t bother to sit down. “Did mom go missing?” They asked, cutting straight to the chase.
A glint flickered past Corbyn, Aviva, Raven, and Fleet’s eyes immediately. Just as they expected, the children were extremely smart and had already begun to figure things out by themselves.
“What? How can your mom go missing?” Aviva exclaimed, stood straight, and widened her eyes, trying to act as if she never expected the children to say such words. “Your mom is an adult; she can’t...”
Before Aviva could complete her words, Orson raised his phone and showed Aviva, including the Cirillo family, his search results.
The feigned smile on Aviva's face disappeared. Although she knew the children were extremely smart, she didn't expect that their words would be backed up by evidence.
The expression on their faces turned solemn immediately.
Hudson’s brows wrinkled, and he began to list his evidence, his little adorable face scrunched up in a serious frown. “Mom's phone is switched off, mom didn't come home last night, mom didn't read a bedtime novel to us, and mom didn't put us to sleep last night or wake us up this morning. Mom had never done that before.” Hudson firmly articulated, one after the other.
The Cirillo's calm expression slipped, and they couldn't help but secretly exchange glances. These children are more intelligent than their age; just how did Valencia raise them?
Raven Cirillo cooed and bent in front of the quadruplet; she fondly stroked their cheeks one after the other and patiently weaved a lie without batting an eye. “Aww, my little grandchildren, nothing is wrong with mom, okay? Mom plans to open a Vaquel branch in Lex, so Mom will be busy in the meantime…”
Iverson smacked his lips together immediately. Mom will never be too busy to forget them. To mom, quadruplet are mom’s biggest treasures, not Vaquel! They definitely didn't believe Grandma’s words. He straightened his back and solemnly stared at Raven. “Mom is too busy to forget quadruplet?” He pronounced, and his voice unconsciously turned cold.
Raven’s comforting smile broke immediately. If she wasn't careful with her words, her words might cause Valencia and the quadruplet relationship to turn estranged, considering how intelligent the quadruplets are.
Corbyn placed his laptop next to him and stopped listening to the report from his assistant.
He strode towards the quadruplet in a large stride, and once he arrived in front of them, he bent in front of them and patted the quadruplet's head. “The area mom is currently in has a massive blackout. I’ve sent out my guards; they'll bring Mom home in a few minutes,” Corbyn explained. His voice was calm and sincere, which made the quadruplet's mood calm down.
Iris's large eyes lit up, and she touched Corbyn’s arms seriously. “Mom is coming? Is mom fine?”
“Yes, little princess.” Corbyn patiently replied and ruffled her hair with a fond smile. “Time to eat; Mom will be extremely worried when she returns to find her little treasures not eating,” he conveyed. He picked Iris up and strode towards the dining room.
The Cirillo family also held each of them and led the three boys toward the dining room.
….
Iris held her fluffy plushy bear and stared at Orson, Hudson, and Iverson with her big, limpid eyes widened slightly, her long eyelashes fluttering cutely. She bit her lower lips, and her limpid eyes darted around nervously. “Are godparents' and grandparents' words right?” She finally muttered after being unable to control herself.
Hudson, Orson, and Iverson paused their lips gloomily. Although the Cirillo family tried to act as if everything were fine, the three were smart and sensitive enough to know that everything wasn’t.
Mom had always put them first, so they didn’t believe all the words the Cirillo couple said to comfort them earlier.
They all knew that Mom planned to open a Vaquel branch in Lex, but if it was the right time to do so, Mommy would definitely let them know beforehand.
Mom always makes sure she takes no jobs that will take up the time mom spends with Quadruplet. Also, Mom doesn’t sleep outside because she knows Quadruplet will worry about her. Finally, mom always makes sure she hears Quadruplet’s voices every time.
How can Mom not talk to Quadruplet in the evening before Quadruplet sleeps and in the morning after Quadruplet wakes up?
Now, the time is ticking towards the afternoon and Quadruplet still hasn’t heard from Mom. How can they believe in grandparents' and godparent's words? Of course, Quadruplet doesn’t believe.
Hudson shook his little head and seriously responded. “I don't believe godparents' words.” He was so worried about Mom that his little self couldn’t pay attention to any snacks, despite being coaxed by grandparents!
“Me too.” Iverson silently replied while looking at the neatly cut fruit placed on his table absentmindedly.
Orson's gloomy expression turned grim immediately, and his body began to exude a cold aura. He clenched his little fist decisively. “We can only take steps ourselves.”
Iris blinked her teary eyes and stared at Orson. “Steps? What are we doing?”
