Chapter 3

One second she was running towards the man she wanted dead with her fists up in the air, and the next she was flying across the room. That was when Rose realized that she would be fighting a loosing battle. Although she was the daughter of the alpha of her pack, she was a female and unfortunately she-wolves didn’t inherit an element. She didn’t care though. She wanted him dead! The more she thought of her brother’s head on that silver platter, the angrier she became. Not only did he kill her brother, but he also made a joke out of it! Alexander smiled to himself. She had reacted exactly as he had hoped – by attacking him. Now he had a reason to kill her faster without facing any serious consequences. Rose quickly composed herself and stood up, however, before she could fully recover, she was once again thrown away, this time outside the dining hall’s window. Alexander followed with a feral smile on his face. Julian walked over to the window to get a better view of the fight. He was very curious about what would happen in this fight, but first he needed them to fight a fair fight. He used his own power to stop Alexander from using his elements. Julian wanted the girl alive, even if it meant his son’s unhappiness. But first, he needed to see just how powerful she really is. The closer he walked towards her, the angrier she became. “Looks like this is the end.” He laughed. “I’m going to have fun watching you burn; just like I did with your brother.” Her breathing got heavier and heavier with each word. “I must say though; I was thoroughly impressed. Not once did he beg for his life. Instead, he fought till his last breath. Unfortunately though, he wasn’t strong enough and well, I just couldn’t help but deliver his head on a silver platter. I was just going to burn him to death, but I thought of my sweet wife at home. I couldn’t come back empty handed, now could I?” He finished the last with a snarl. “So now, I’ll finish you off just like I did your brother.” He was now one foot away from her. She didn’t know what to do. She wasn’t strong enough to fight him when he used his elements, not even if she had shifted into her wolf. She didn’t know what to do; however she didn’t want to die without seeing him suffer as well. And if she were to die, she’d die in a way that made her brother proud. Alexander closed his eyes. Something wasn’t right. No matter how much he tried to summon one of his elements, they wouldn’t work. It was like something was blocking his mind from making contact with one of his pets. His eyes shot open at that thought. His father. Of course, the old man would interfere! Alexander tried one more time before turning to the direction of his father with a glare. Rose watched anger etch its way onto Alexander’s face. He looked like he was straining his mind to do something but was unable to. She didn’t know what was happening, but she found a great opportunity to attack when he turned his back towards her. Hadn’t anyone ever taught him that you should never turn your back to an enemy? She pounced on his back and knocked him to the ground. He was quick though. Before they reached the ground he spun them around so she was now on the bottom. She pushed him off and although he didn’t go as further as she would have liked, she was successful in getting him off of her. And then the fight began. She threw a punch: he blocked it. She kicked him: he was successful in blocking that too. He attacked her, but because of their size differences she was able to duck without him touching a strand of her hair. They started circling one another – both waiting for the other to make the first move. Alexander charged forward with a growl. Rose sidestepped. She quickly attacked him back with a blow. He avoided one flying fist, only to collide with another. She didn’t stop. She continued to attack him until she heard a satisfying c***k. She stepped back to catch her breath but unfortunately Alexander was quick to recover. He lunged towards her, causing them both to collide to the ground. She head-butted him, catching him off guard. That was enough for her to escape from under him. That was when Alexander snapped. Although he wanted to kill her, he felt that attacking a woman with his fist was wrong. To him, killing was more morally right than attacking a woman with his fist. He had had enough though. He wasn’t going to hold back anymore. Alexander was fast – so fast that Rose hadn’t even seen him lunge at her. One second he was a few meters away, and the next she felt a blow to her midriff. Her breath was knocked out of her, but more importantly she could feel a stinging sensation on her face. She could see him lunging towards her again. However, before he could even make contact, her wolf took over. Alexander was surprised. He hadn’t expected her to shift. Looking at her in her wolf form, he realized that she was quite small. He decided that a battle between their wolves would make things easier for him. Compared to her wolf, his was huge. He shifted too. She ran towards him on all fours and lunged for his neck. He sidestepped before she made contact with his body and then quickly whirled around to face her. She quickly composed herself and attacked once again. This time she used her paws to attack him. She was unsuccessful once again. His wolf was a lot stronger and faster than his human form. Realizing that she was feeling more and more tired, he decided that he’d wear her out more. Instead of attacking her to cause serious damage, he opted for scratching her with sharp claws. He wanted to kill her when she looked utterly defenseless and begging for mercy. She was tired. She didn’t know how long they had been fighting for, but she was both physically and mentally tired. She wanted to stop, but her pride wouldn’t let her. So she continued to attack and attack. She didn’t know when the fight would end, but one thing she did know was that this was a losing battle. He was an alpha, and the heir of the Royal Alpha family. Not only was he extraordinarily strong and fast, but he also had the stamina that’ll enable him to fight for years straight without dropping an ounce of sweat. She may have been an alpha’s daughter, but she wasn’t nearly as strong as him. The Royal Alpha family was on a whole different level. Alexander smiled when he realized just how tired she was. Now was his chance to end her. He went straight for the kill and lunged for her neck with his teeth bared. Rose gave up. She just couldn’t handle this anymore. She suddenly really wanted to see her brother. Alexander latched onto her neck just as she shifted back into her human form. She felt a burning pain in her neck before everything went dark.
