Alastair Doing mundane errands with Jacob felt completely natural, and it wasn’t forced or uncomfortable. I had finished up my responsibilities on the farm with Atticus while Sophia and Rodney entertained Jacob. We had gone to the grocery store, butcher, and pharmacy. Not once did he complain as I stared at the items while I tried to decide which one I wanted. Jacob did not say a word about walking to and from each store even though his feet and legs were paining. The whole thing just felt unbelievably domestic, and I could see us doing this a lot more often. It was nice. It was different.
