“I have to go to Cidwood this week,” Erik said as he looked over at Corey and me. It was our Monday morning meeting, and I wasn’t surprised at his announcement. “Eugene is having some issues with a contract, and he has his hands full with Joah,”
“Poor little guy,” Corey whispered, and I silently agreed. Joah had suddenly shown symptoms of being sick and under the weather. It wasn’t unusual, but it was still worrisome.
“I was thinking that you could go with me,” Erik then said to Corey. This was also something that wasn’t unexpected. While Erik didn’t travel to Cidwood all that often, he did suggest one of us go with him. Normally it was Corey, but this time I felt a little butt hurt that he hadn’t even considered me.
