I was still lost in thoughts when Eric Dark suddenly spoke up, “Muffet, I never would have guessed that you’re married.” Eric’s voice carried a hint of shock. I sneered, “If you heard him now, you’d know that I’m about to become a divorced woman. Mr. Dark, I’m leaving.” Eric watched as I left the private room. His narrow eyes were filled with a whiff of inexplicable amusement as he gazed at my slender and straight-back. Coming out of the room, I took a deep breath and pushed the events of the day out of my mind. I called Zoey to get the latter’s location, she texted me her location after the home call. However, When I found Zoey, she was drinking with great enthusiasm. I rolled my eyes and walked to her, “let’s go.” I waved at my bestie. “Now?” She staggered to stand up. Seeing that Zoey's face was reddened, I knew that she already had too much to drink. I could only accept the situation and walked closer to Zoey while gritting my teeth. “Why didn’t you tell me that I’m married?” I asked the question burning in my heart. In a haze, Zoey murmured, “Huh? I thought you already knew.” She wrapped her arms around my neck. “Didn’t your brother tell you?” She blinked her eyes drunkenly. I hissed and cursed Landon in my heart. He only told me to be wary of Liam Romano that he was a scumbag, ‘why didn’t he also tell me that I was married to that Jerk?’ I wouldn’t have looked like a surprised fool, I breathed heavily. Meanwhile, Zoey was quite drunk and couldn't return home alone, therefore I took her back to Albert’s villa. As soon as we entered through the portal, the keeper at the portal gate took our names and registered them in a black book. With the assistance of the lake fairies that I found on my way home, we were able to reach the doorstep of Albert's villa. “Thanks, Shimmy and Chandra,” I uttered gratefully, they cooed and flew around my head before they went back to the sea. I typed in the passcode of the door and it unlocked, I saw Landon sitting on the sofa with a sullen expression and crossed legs. At the sound of the door slamming, Landon looked up. “Oh, there you are.” Landon paused when he saw me supporting Zoey’s body, he was stunned. “Why is she here?” He pointed at the unconscious Zoey. “Huh?” I raised my brow and panted heavily, I threw Zoey onto the sofa and she mistakenly rolled and bumped into Landon. Zoey groaned in discomfort and frowned, she bit her lips like she was chewing on her favorite food and instantly fell unconscious. ‘Who knows the weird dream she’s having.’ I thought to myself and wiped off the beads of sweat forming on my forehead and neck. Landon’s body stiffened. Awkwardly, he pushed Zoey’s head to the other side with his index finger. Meanwhile, I moved to the table and drank a big glass of water before giving orders to my brother, “You should help Zoey to the guest room.” I said tiredly and climbed the stairs. “Hey…” Landon attempted to speak, however before he could utter another word, I suddenly turned around and gave him a cold stare. “I haven’t settled the score with you yet.” I huffed and continued climbing the stairs. Instantly, Landon became silent. Although he wasn’t aware of what had happened in the bar and was confused with my utterance, I preferred to stay quiet at times like this so as not to create tensions between my brother and that damned man. My brother Landon cares about me a lot that he would definitely fight with Liam once he learns of our encounter in the bar. Landon turned back and kicked Zoey’s feet lightly. “Hey, can you stand up?” His voice held a hint of displeasure as he talked to Zoey Anderson. Zoey didn’t respond nor moved, her eyes were shut tightly, and it seemed like she was on the verge of falling asleep. Landon stood in front of Zoey, he looked down at her for a while, and let out a heavy sigh. He bent down and carried Zoey up from the sofa. One of his arms went under her legs while the other went under her back. I was standing behind the banister of the second floor and saw when my brother carried Zoey into the guest room, I was dazed that I rubbed my eyes, thinking that I might be seeing things. I snapped back to my senses, rubbed her chin, and smiled. ‘It seemed like something had happened between these two four years ago, so bad I have selective amnesia.’ I shook my head and returned to my room, took a shower, and lay down on the bed to prepare for sleep. Abruptly, I suddenly recalled the man I had met earlier in the bar. It dawned on me that the weird man from the bar would be considered my husband now, I let out an amused gasp wondering how I ended up with such a lunatic. Suddenly, I remembered my old phone, although Landon had gotten a new cellphone for me after the car accident, I kept the old phone in a cabinet in my room. At the thought of that, I turned on the bedside lamp, got out of bed, and searched the cabinet where I kept the cell phone. I found the old phone within a sec, but there was no important information on the phone, maybe I wasn’t the type to keep a diary. However, I found a photo album and clicked on the photo album, my fingers froze on the screen. All of these photos were about my daily lifestyle, some were taken when I prepared a table full of dishes and was clearly waiting for someone with a face full of smiles. I guess that was on the eve of my marriage as I was still putting on a ball gown. There were lots of photos taken in rooms that I was not familiar with. I scrolled down through the albums and found out that Liam’s photos took up most of the storage, which was mostly his side profiles. The photos were blurred and unidentifiable, this shows that it was taken in secret or without his permission. I clenched the phone tightly and felt a strange discomfort in my heart although I couldn’t remember anything or how the photos got into my cell phone. Abruptly, my gaze landed on the last photo, It was a photo of Liam and a feminine figure embracing each other lovingly. The discomfort in my heart instantly disappeared and was replaced by anger. “Liam Romano is indeed a jerk! He flirted with another woman while married to me, so of a b***h!’ I toss the cell phone on the other side of the bed, “good! It’s better to get divorced,” I covered myself with the quilt and forced myself to sleep as the discovery I got tonight was too much for my brain cell. The next morning, I got up early, got ready, and went to the city hall. Liam arrived shortly after I had arrived, he wore a white shirt that accentuated his tall and slender figure. Meanwhile, the rays of the morning sun were shining brightly on Liam's face, his features were unbelievably handsome, however, his expression and aura were extremely cold. I was standing in the corner with my eyes on him and soon suspected that I might have married him because of his good looks. “You’re on time today,” he mocked. I was irritated by his icy and taunting tone. I only glanced at him with indifference and said, “Cut it out. Let’s get this divorce over with.” I walked into the city hall alone immediately after I had spoken and gave him no chance to respond. Liam’s pov I was taken aback and stood at the same spot while my eyes were glued on McKenna’s back, ‘is she that eager to divorce me?’ My brows furrowed slightly as I wondered what could have gone wrong with her. “Did she really lose her memories?” I still have some doubts clouded in my mind. Meanwhile, Last night, I had asked my beta to look into McKenna’s medical records, but no hospital in Wolfen City had records of her past medical treatment not even a piece of information about the car accident was found 'is her amnesia real? If it wasn’t, then why did she suddenly become so resolute?’ I scratched my hair and couldn’t dissect the situation as the more I thought of it, the more confused I got. Shortly after standing outside the city hall for a while, I recovered from a trance, shook my head and ignored the strange thoughts in my mind, and followed McKenna into the city hall.
