Chapter :- 27.

“So, can we get started with our work?” Zene nod to Erlik's question.

On the bright and clear morning, Erlik and Zene met each other in the flowery forest. There Erlik told her that he would keep her company as long as she needs him. Zene felt so loved from Erlik's little actions that she couldn't stop herself from falling in love with him. The restrictions of both kinds are already forgotten as they started showing their emotions for each others. But the biggest truth were still hidden from each other, waiting to be revealed one day.

Without caring about anything or anyone, they started their work. Erlik helped Zene pick flowers like he did before this day. It was the same as yesterday as they couldn't stop themselves from touching each other and feeling some forbidden attractions. It was Zene, who finally got her senses back and got herself in control.

“What are you doing? Calm down. Don't forget he’s just your friend, and mostly he’s a Devil. You can't gain these kinds of feelings for him. The world won’t approve it. You would be heartbroken one day.” Zene said to herself as she moved away from Erlik and tried to keep her distance from him.

Erlik understood her sudden change of mood and the reason behind it. He thought to himself that, to make her accept their love, he needs to make her forget about the world. But how? All of a sudden his eyes fell on a pile of dried leave right under the trees and he got an idea. He picked up a handful of them and threw it on Zene. Zene was shocked from his sudden childish act and looked back at him. Erlik took the chance and dropped another handful of leaves on her.

“What are you doing? Have you gotten mad?” She asked him is shock.

“Maybe yes, maybe not. Find it out yourself.” Before Zene can say anything else, Erlik again threw some of it again on her. This time it made Zene angry.

“That's it. I’m not letting you go anymore.” Saying this, Zene picked up some dried leaves on her little hand and threw it at him.

Without any intention, she started a war in between them as they kept throwing leaf, flowers, dirt, anything that came into their reach. All the boundaries were long forgotten, and they kept laughing and playing with each other. Soon Erlik picked up a handful of dirt and Zene started running to save herself while laughing her heart out. While running around, they reached near a part of the beach and there they kept fighting or playing with sands. They have no idea what they were doing. Zene was in Erlik's arms as they were rubbing each others’ hair with sands, making a mess on themselves.

“Owe… Ow… Something got in my eyes.” Suddenly Zene screamed out while holding her left eye. She kept rubbing it to get it out.

“Stop. You're going to hurt your eye if it’s a grain of sand. Let me check.” Erlik said while holding her hands. He removed her hands from her eye and tried to open it. But Zene kept flinching as it was burning in her eyes.

“Hold still. Don't move. I can see it.”

Erlik put her head in place before opening her eye forcefully and blowing the dirt out of her eyes. After few blows, it was out of zene’s eyes, and she blinked it to clear her vision. When she became normal, she looked up to see Erlik still holding her head and looking at her with intense eyes. His face was so close to hers that they can feel each other's breaths on their faces.

The proximity was affecting Zene do much that she couldn't make herself move away from him. Erlik's eyes were also on Zene's plumped lips as it was inviting him to taste them, but he couldn't dare to do it. After staying in that position for a while, and he noticed that Zene wasn't pulling herself away from the closeness, Erlik took the next step. He slowly approached near her lips and touched them with his owns. Giving a small kiss, he stopped himself for a bit to see if she pushes him away or not. But when he noticed that Zene has no intentions to break the heat of that moment, he took her lips in his again.

This time he deepens the kiss more and more as he felt Zene was cooperating with him. He slowly slid his one arm around her waist and another one her head to keep her in place while he devours her lips. He sucked her lips to get the sweetness out of it, but it didn't seem like enough. According to him, her lips were the sweetest thing he ever tested. Not only him, but Zene was also enjoying that moment to its full. This is the first time she’s truly enjoying someone's passionate kiss. Erlik's touch on her body was sending shivers through her whole body. Thousands of butterflies were erupting on her stomach and trying to get out. Erlik was making her feel different sparks for which she was trying to put her body more and more into his.

They don't know how long they were kissing each other, but sadly they had to break it eventually to take some breath. If it was possible for them, they would have never broken it. Once they were separated with each other, Zene realized what they were doing. Realization hit her as she felt really ashamed of herself for kissing a man out in the open. She couldn't decide what to do next as she started fidgeting. Should she apologize for what they did or just smile it away? But before she can do either of it, Erlik spoke up to her.

“You don't have to say anything. We both have equal part in it, and I’m not a bit ashamed for it. So you don't have to be too. To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed every single part of it.”

Erlik's words made Zene blush, and she tried her best to hide her red shy face. But it was not possible because Erlik already noticed it before she can hide it. He was relieved that Zene was accepting him sooner than he thought. It won't take longer before she completely falls in love with him.

“Oh mighty God, we’re a mess! Look at our hairs..! It’s all covered in dirt.”

As soon as Zene exclaimed that, Erlik noticed that they were truly covers in dirt. Their all body had mud on them. Dry leaves and sand were all stuck on both of theirs ruffled hair. They were looking like the most messy kids there ever was. Erlik laughed out to see Zene struggling to get out, some leaf that was stuck with her long hair. She was doing the cutest pout with it too. Zene saw Erlik laughing at her, and she pouted even more for that.

“Stop laughing. It’s not funny. Help me get them out.” Zene whined out and Erlik had no other choice except of helping her. After trying for a while, she still could not fix her hair and gave up on that.

“It’s not working. There’s only one way to fix it. Let's go for a swim. We can't go home like this anyway.” She said with an excited face. Swimming is her best activity not only because she's a mermaid, it’s because water gives her relaxation.

“What? No way. I’m not going.” But Erlik was completely opposite of her.

“Why? How do you expect to clean yourself if you won't go in the water?” Zene asked seeing his dramatic answer.

“I rather stay dirty then go into the water. I love my life to not risk it like this.” Erlik picked his hands up in surrender.

“Oh come on. Don't be such a baby. Nothing will happen to you. Besides, I’ll be there with you anyway.” Zene said while getting up from the sandy beach.

“What if I drown again?” Erlik asked showing no intention to get up.

“I will have a fourth chance to save you again. Come on…” Zene said forwarding her hand to help him up.

Erlik looked at zene’s face once and her once before sliding his in them. He can’t refuse his princess when she's pressuring him so much. Getting up from the ground they slowly walked towards the ocean. Zene didn't think a second time before walking into the water, while Erlik just stood on the sore, getting scared to go forward. After reaching almost her waist length water, Zene turned back to see Erlik wasn't following her.

“Don't be such a whinny baby. Come now. I promise you that we won't go far.” Zene called him again.

With a long sigh, defeated Erlik slowly walked more into the water. The cold water of the ocean started reaching up his warm body, as he kept walking towards his love. With fearful heart, Erlik finally reached near Zene.

“It's a very good chance to teach you how to swim today. Let's get started..” Zene said with a smirk on her face. Erlik couldn't decide that if it was her intention before taking him into the ocean or the idea just popped into her head to teach him swimming at that time.

“Hold my hands and let go of your body.” Zene started instructing him how to swim but Erlik was way to scared to do it.

“Are you sure it’s safe?” Erlik asked once more before following her instructions.

“You know, you're way too soft to be a Devil. You're more like a 14 years old angele, who’s learning to swim for the first time. Even they are also braver than you. I’m here with you. Don't be scared. I won't let anything happen to you. Now do as I say.”

It made Erlik a little ashamed when Zene compared him with a little kid. So couldn't say anything further and did exactly as she told. Taking her hands into his, he let go of his body to keep it floating. Zene smiled at him to see his obedience and started pulling him further into the ocean.

“Now flap your legs to push the water behind.” Erlik did exactly as she said.

After a few minutes they were in deeper water where Zene couldn't touch the sea floor anymore. Erlik was still kicking the water while Zene kept holding his hands.

“Now I’m letting you go. Try to pull water on you both sides with your hands after I leave them. It will help you go forward.” As soon as Zene told him that, Erlik's eyes got wide. He got scared to hear that she's about to let his hands go.

“No… No don’t. Don't let go of my hands. I’ll drown if you do that.” He screamed out.

“No you won’t. Do as I taught you, and you will be perfectly fine. It's the only way you can learn how to swim. I’m letting you go now. Relax your muscles.”

“No..”

Before Erlik could say something more, Zene let’s go of his hands. Immediately panicked filled Erlik's heart, and he forgot everything she taught him. As a result, he started drowning down. Before Zene can hold him again, Erlik went down the water and kicked himself further from her. The pull of the ocean was also started dragging him further into the oceans’ depth. Diving inside the water Zene started searching for him, but couldn't find him anywhere. She kept coming on the surface to check once and dive to find him in the next moment. She became horrified to think that he’s about to lose him.

Zene kept swimming here and there to search for him but couldn't find him anywhere. Until she suddenly saw a swirl in the water few meters away from her. She exactly knew what was going on in there and didn’t wait for a second to think about it again. She immediately swam to that place and tried holding the person inside the swirl to save him. Luckily she succeeded to catch hold of Erlik's hand, who was thinking at that moment that it was his last time, and pulled him up to the surface. Erlik was saved once again by the girl he loves.
