Devil vs Mermaid: War to be the God

Chapter :- 6.

Erlik was happy because his plans worked. He successfully convinced The Mermaid King Triton and Angel Queen Angelia that he's a human, not anyone dangerous. He also convinced them to give him shelter on their island. Half work of his mission is already done. Now he only has to find out the future queen and kill her. But a part of his next plan was completed by the king himself.

“Welcome to our Island King Erlik. My name's Triton, and I'm the King of the Mermaids. This is my wife Angelia, and she's the Queen of Angels. And these are our eight daughters.”

As King Triton informed him that they have eight daughters, Erlik became astonished. His only thought at that moment was, how he's going to find the one among these eight. But King Triton pointed her out to Erlik himself.

“Erlik, meet Sylviana. She's our firstborn daughter and our future Queen. We are going to crown her in the next full moon.”

King Triton introduced Sylvia to him and Erlik checked her out head to toe. He saw that their first daughter is beautiful and matured enough girl to be a queen. She has waist-length black and curly hair. Her skin color is brown and her eyes are copper-colored, similar to her father. Her height was tall and her figure was looking perfect in those small clothes she was wearing.

Erlik noticed that not only her but all the people of this land is wearing similar dresses. All the girls were wearing small clothes around their breasts to cover them from everyone's eyes. And all of them had a piece of cloth wrapped around their waist down part like a skirt. Erlik was wearing one large piece of cloth around his body, which was hanging from his one shoulder, and it was only covering the lower part while the rest of his body was visible. He realized that they wear these types of clothes to have easy access to shift into their forms but in Hell, they wear only one cloth around their whole body because they don't shift. It's strange how all of them have different abilities and different ways to use them when all of them are created by only one person.

'So this is her. This is the one I have to kill and drink blood from. The next full moon is in 20 days. So that means I have 20 days to complete my mission. I have to work hard to achieve my target now.' Erlik thought in his head.

“Hello, my future Queen. It's my pleasure to meet you.” Erlik said to Sylvia with his devilish smile.

Sylvia was checking out Erlik since she first saw him. And from the first look at him, she felt attracted to the Devil. His big muscular body and his square jawline were making her drool. His dark black eyes were calling her to get stuck on them. And his smile was attracting her to taste his thin lips. She has never seen any other young handsome man like him before. Erlik's Devil charms were working on her perfectly.

“Hello. It's nice to meet you too King Erlik.” Sylvia said to him with a flirtatious smile.

“Oh! Don't call me that. It'll be my pleasure if you call me by my name. Just Erlik is fine.” He said with a grin.

“Okay, I will. But you have to call me by my name too. You can call me just Sylvia.” Sylvia said while blushing.

“It's done then. It's nice to meet you, Sylvia.” Erlik forwarded his hand to Sylvia, and they shake each other's hands.

Everyone was standing in that place and witnessing their little flirtatious moment. The fear everyone had in their hearts for Erlik, were long gone, and now they are glad to encounter a human in their land. To top it off, he's the king of humans. Not only them but King Triton and Queen Angelia were happy to see some affection between their daughter and the human King. They wanted someone who their daughter would love to marry because she's way past her age to find a mate. Girls around her age should give birth to a child by now. And it's not proper for a Queen to rule her Kingdom without a king beside her.

Sylvia's parents don't have any problems if she wanted to mate another kind of male because King Triton and Queen Angelia are different kinds too. Despite that fact, they are both happy with each other and love each other a lot too. So if their daughter wants to marry a human, they would easily agree to that. But they don't know the truth that Erlik is not a human but a Devil. And if they knew that, they wouldn't even let him get near their daughters, let alone having any affection.

“Erlik. Maybe you should stay at our house. We have enough rooms for you and we would love to know you more. What do you think honey?” Queen Angelia asked her husband. She thought if Erlik stays nearby, Sylvia and his relationship might get more chances to grow.

“I agree with you. You're most welcome to stay in our house Erlik.” King Triton told him.

“Thank you so much for your kindness. It's my pleasure to be your guest.” Erlik said and bowed his head to the rulers of this kingdom.

Erlik became happy to think that now he would get more chances to complete his mission when he is going to live under the same roof as his enemy. He might finish it even before the end of his 20 days. Sylvia was also excited to know that her dream guy is going to live right in her house. Finally, she could get the mate she was waiting for so long.

After they decided everything, king Triton told Erlik to follow them to their house. Soon everyone also started getting back to their works too. As the crowd moved away and only a few of the royal family was left, Erlik noticed someone from in-between them. He couldn't see that person clearly but when the royal family started walking to their house, she came into his view.

Erlik froze in his place by seeing a goddess-like beauty standing in front of him and staring right at him with angry eyes. But his mind was not in the matter of, why she was angry at him in the first place. Instead, he was mesmerized by her beauty and only checking her out. She was way gorgeous than their future Queen, with a tall and perfect hourglass-like shaped figure. She has long, black, slightly wavy hair that reaches down below her hip. Her skin was fair like the angel queen and her eyes were blue like the ocean. She has a perfect sharp nose and plumped lips that could attract any male. The way she dressed up was the reason behind her look like a goddess. She was wearing the same short dresses as the rest of them, but it was making her more exotic from the rest of them. And she was wearing some ornaments made out of seashells all over her body, which was making her unique from everyone else.

Erlik doesn't know why he was getting attracted to this girl, but he wanted to touch her desperately. Not only that, but he was feeling that he had seen her before. Unintentionally his eyes fall on her body and wrist to look for any mark. He thought for once that if she's the same girl that saved him. But he only saw that her wrist is covered with a layer of beautiful bracelet and the rest of her body was spotless. He sighed himself to think why he is checking her for that mark when he clearly remembers that the girl who saved her had white hair. But this girl in front has black hair, not white.

“Sis, come one. Let's go.” Erlik saw a younger girl pull her hand as she breaks her instance glare from him. She started walking away after looking back at Erlik one last time.

“Wait, what's your name?” Erlik stops her in middle to know her name.

“It's none of your business. Just keep remembering that my eyes will be on you.” That girl said to him and walked away.

Erlik couldn't understand what problems this girl has with him and why she was behaving strangely with him. But the voice he heard from her, send a spark through his whole body. It felt like a melody to his ears and unintentionally Erlik was falling for her which he doesn't realize himself.

On the other hand, Zene took a long deep breath to think that she's safe for now. She was worried that everyone will find out her mark on the wrist and question her about it. That's why she covered it with a few layers of bracelet despite the pain it was causing her. It was a freshly made mark for her and the edges of the seashells were hurting her too much. But she had to hide it so that nobody can see it.

She's now thankful that she wore that because she noticed how Erlik was checking her wrist to search for the mark. Maybe he had a doubt about her, but she's happy that he couldn't find his mark on Zene's body. And she also knows that she has to keep it well hidden from everyone until it completely heals.

Another worry that was eating Zene is that she noticed that her big sister was falling for this devil without knowing his real identity. It might cause her heartache in the future. Zene doesn't know how to solve this matter now. If she had better relationships with her sister, she might try to tell her the truth. But Sylvia hates her and if Zene tries to tell her anything against Erlik, she would only think that Zene's jealous of her. So there's no choice for Zene to save her sister. The only way she could do that is by keeping her eyes on Erlik's true intentions.

Zene was standing there while Erlik was feeding everyone with his lies. Zene knows his truth, so it was bothering her too much. She wanted to tell everyone about his reality but couldn't do it. That's because she doesn't know why he is on the surface. And if she reveals the truth and later finds out that he was innocent all along, there will be no place for her to hide her disappointment. She would be the reason for an innocent's death which she doesn't want to be. So she thought to keep quiet for now.

She got way beyond shocked when she heard her father invite him to live in their house. She can't believe her father was inviting danger into their house himself. Not only it will raise the danger for them, but it will also raise the chance of Sylvia falling for the devil. Zene could never let it happen. She's determined that she would save her family from any plan this Devil has. On the other hand, she was also relieved to think that, Erlik is going to stay right in front of her eyes where she can keep her eyes on him. It will be easier this way to protect her family.

Zene was glaring at Erlik to inform him that she knows his truth, and he needs to be aware of her. But instead of fear, she saw some amazement in his eye after looking at her. They both were looking at each other to understand the opposite one better until Kally came between them and broke their stare. But when they were going away, Zene couldn't believe that he tried to talk to her.

Zene thought that he might have realized the warning by now, but she got shocked when he dared to ask her name. To clear her warning to him, Zene warned Erlik to be aware of her and walked away from him. This might make him afraid now, and maybe he won't try to do anything stupid in the future. Thinking this, Zene walked back home with Erlik following them.
