I left the throne room, my fists clenched as I made my way back to my quarters. Everything had happened so suddenly and I had no say in it whatsoever. Alpha Jack obviously had his mind made up, and the general was only too happy to slide in my place. There was something suspicious about this whole thing, and I couldn't be convinced otherwise.
The most disheartening thing about this whole thing was that all I had been trying to avoid was futile in the end. If I was sent to Evergreen pack, what were the chances that no one would find out I was mated? They were quite slim, and this kept my head spinning with thoughts.
