I breathed in as Carl leaned forward and put his elbows on his laps, so he could let them dangle off. He watched me, a little tipsy by now with all the glasses he had drunk, and he smiled at me. "You resent me by now, don't you?" He asked. "You shouldn't have gotten involved with Brian, then." I said nothing as he slowly let himself lie down on the bed. My eyes filled up, but it's like nothing wanted to come out. Even my tears were abandoning me to face this man myself. I stayed there just watching until he fell asleep. His breaths evened and he let go of the cup he was holding. I sighed and wiped my eyes with the back of my hands, then walked out of the room. "Excuse me, Ma'am. Sir asked us not to let you go anywhere." I turned to the bodyguard who was standing in front of the room.
