Chapter 3 : Whom am i meeting?

Camilla woke up early in the morning, went for her morning jog, as she came back to her apartment, she saw the man from last night in a vest standing by the elevator and wow! He looked hot! With all his muscle showing just made her feel hot
“Good morning!” Camilla greeted him standing next to him looking down feeling uncomfortable because of the sweat she had.
“Good Morning.” He said and continued playing on his phone. The elevator doors opened and Camilla got on together with him.
After they reached their floor, Camilla walked out first and went to her apartment, she opened the door and entered.
She quickly took off her clothes and went to take a shower, when she finished, she got dressed in white office pant and navy-blue chiffon blouse. She got put on her stilettos and grabbed everything walking out of the house to the parking lot.
She started her car and drove off.

“Good morning! Why’s everyone in such a hurry?” She said to Michelle as she walked in the office!
“Morning Camilla! Well it seems like the new CEO will be coming here today so everyone seems busy” Michelle replied without any panic in her voice
“And you? Why are you not doing anything?” Camilla asked
“Because I just need to be me! NO need for me to stress myself over this!” She replied sitting on one of the chairs that were in Camilla’s office
“Isn’t that great?” Camilla sarcastically replied
“Yeah!” Michelle replied playing on her phone
“So, are you going to visit your mother during your leave?” Michelle asked Camilla but she just kept quiet
“You really need to sort out your problems before they get out of hand, you haven’t spoken to her in years” Michelle said to Camilla who pretended not to hear anything
“Did you hear what I said?” Michelle asked
“Loud and clear! Now you can leave, I have something to work on” Camilla said removing her laptop from her bag.
“Fine! Don’t say I didn’t tell you to have a relationship with your mother” Michelle shrugged her shoulder and walked out of the office.

Camilla spent the whole day looking at financial reports without having any break. After lunch she received a call from Adrian to go to his office.
“Hi! You called for me?” Camilla said as she entered Adrian’s office
“Oh Yes! I need you to go for a meeting on my behalf, I was supposed to attend it but as you heard the Mr parker is coming today. Do you mind doing that?” Adrian closely looking at her
“Of course! I don’t mind. Who am I meeting and where?” Camilla asked
“I will forward the email to you. Thanks a lot Camilla” Adrian said
“Pleasure!” Camilla replied smiling at him and turning to leave the office
Adrian was like a father figure and every time he spoke, she respected him and the day he found that she had started dating Quinton he was furious but still stood by her side.
Three years ago
“What is this am hearing? You and quinton? Don’t you know the kind of man he is? Are you that desperate?” Adrian stomped in Camilla office causing her to get startled
“Adrian! What are you doing here? Where did you hear that?” Camilla said moving behind
“That doesn’t matter. How long has it been since you started dating him?” He asked Camilla
“A couple of months! And yes, I do love him” Camilla said looking down
Adrian paced around the room and looked at her. “Camilla when I met you during your internship at Williams group the first thing that came to my mind was this young lady will become something in the future not because of her parents but because of her hard work. Do you why I thought like that?” Adrian asked her and she shook her head
“Because you proved it! Now if you are going to be dating men at companies am afraid that is going to ruin your reputation or ruin your performance in all your projects” Adrian explained and Camilla seemed to be disappointed.
“Am sorry I will make sure to work hard and not to let you down” Camilla replied looking down
Adrian wanted to say something else but decided against it so he ended up walking away from Camilla’s office.
Weeks passed and it happened that Quinton and Adrian got on the same elevator lift. Quinton stood in front while Adrian was behind.
“Ahem!” Adrian coughed behind and Quinton just focused looking ahead.
“So how is it going with you and Camilla?” Adrian asked Quinton breaking the silence
“Well apart from most people thinking that am trying to ruin her career? I Think we are doing great even though we have to pretend that we are not meeting now in a relationship” Quinton replied getting off the elevator lift before Adrian could reply
Adrian looked at Quinton as the doors were shutting. While in the elevator he thought maybe he should talk to Camilla because from how Quinton looked like it was not fair for him to say something about their relationship.

“Morning Camilla. Do you a minute?” Adrian knocked going inside her office.
“Yes. Morning, how are you?” Camilla greeted Adrian stopping everything she was doing.
The two of them talked about Quinton and by the end of it all he told her he will stand by her side.
“Thank you so much.” Camilla replied.
“Don’t thank me I didn’t do anything. Just make sure you don’t make me regret it” Adrian replied looking at her smiling and she vowed never to make him regret it.

“So, you won’t be able to meet the new gentleman?” Michelle asked
“Of course. But I thought you were not happy about him coming here?” Camilla asked checking for the details of the meeting in her emails
“Of course, am not just thought it would be nice to have the company’s most competent accountant there when he comes incase, he asks a question we both know that Eva can’t really say much” Michelle asked her
“Don’t let Eva hear you say that” Camilla replied as soon as she finished checking for her mail, she shut down her laptop and packed it.
“I will see you later. Let me go ahead before the traffic builds up” Camilla said walking out of her office
“Okay. Later” Michelle said looking at Camilla as she locked the door and walked away from the office.
