At Jake's house, Crystal is teaching Vince about his coming work as a personal assistant.
“Mom, what is a condom?” Vince asked as he suddenly remembered what Jake told him.
“Huh?!” Crystal turned quickly facing Vince.
“Ah hehehe, Jake told me to ask you 'coz he said he cannot explain it to me how to use it.” Vince nonchalantly said while scratching his head.
“That pervert!” Crystal mumbled. “Why did you suddenly ask Vince?” Though she already had an idea as Jake already told her when he called her last night, she wanted Vince to tell her.
“Ahm, I wanted to know. I found it in Jake's drawers and I thought they were balloons but he said those are condoms used by men so women can't get pregnant.” He explained then pouted his lips.
“Okay! But why do you need to know?”
“I wanted to learn things so I won't keep making mistakes as I did with those condoms.”
Crystal ruffled his hair. “Condoms used by men to put on their pets.”
“Eeehhh, you mean pets like dogs and cats?” Vince's face flashed with more confusion.
“No...no..no...like what you saw from my son. That one you saw said his pet.” Crystal tried to explain.
“Like this?” Vince pointed to his pet innocently.
“Why is this kid so innocent? What did his parents do to him?” Crystal thought. “Ahm, yes that pet.” She replied.
“How?” Vince holds the waist of his pants and peeks onto his pet as he has no idea how to put the condom on it.
“Vince, don't take off your pants. My goodness.”
Vince's eyes widened as an idea flashed in his mind.
“Hehehehe!”
“Why are you giggling Vince?” Crystal's brows furrowed as she had no idea why the innocent guy in front of her was suddenly giggling.
“Eehh, I don't want to tell. It's funny!”
“Huh! Uh okay.” Crystal just shakes her head writing some stuff that Vince needs to learn before she will go on holiday.
In Vince's mind, “so the condom must be put on the pet to cover it? Eeeeeh, but it may look ugly and funny. I don't like it to look like that.” He subconsciously looked down at his pants and he felt his pet slightly move. “Huh! Oh my...” he then ran to the toilet because he was afraid that Crystal would see what was happening to his pet.
“What happened to that kid?” Crystal was left wondering what was happening to Vince.
Vince inside the toilet pulled his pants down and looked at his pet that slightly hardened.
“What is happening to him?” He is looking at it, not able to understand as he didn't experience such a sudden reaction from his pet. He pulled his pants up but his growing bulge is poking it. “Mom will see it.” He then sat down on the toilet bowl and thought about what to do. A few moments later, he stood up as he felt that no more hard thing was in between his legs.
“Vince, are you okay?” Vince was startled as he heard Crystal knocking on the door and asking him.
“M....mo...mooommmm, I'm okay?” He answered stuttering as he is afraid she might know what is happening to him. “Haist! Why are all these things happening to me? Is this why Papa doesn't want me to come here? Don't want me to go to school? Haist!”
He fixed himself and decided to go out. He didn't find Crystal anymore outside the door. He then went back to the living room where he left her when he ran to the toilet.
“Vince, sit down. I need to talk to you.”
Vince then sit down on the couch that Crystal pointed for him.
“Vince, I know you're a good person. The first time I saw you, I already liked you working with us. But I just want you to answer me honestly when I ask you something, okay?” He nodded as Crystal started talking.
Vince's eyes flutter while listening to her but fingers fidgeting as he is not comfortable with such a serious talk.
“Don't worry, I don't ask questions that you don't like.” Crystal smiled at him as she noticed that he was not comfortable.
He smiled back.
“Vince, have you ever gone to school before?”
He nodded. “I am but only until I'm eight years old. Some kids bullied and beat me until blood flowed between my legs. My Papa and Mama said I'm sick and not able to go to school. They then started teaching me at home but later they're not able to do it because they are busy with the farm. My cousin Jules, wanted to stop too but my parents refused but he didn't finish also as my parents cannot afford anymore all the expenses. We then both helped my parents with our farm until a friend brought Jules here and I am left lonely in the province.” Vince said puckered his lips as he remembered how he was sad when Jules left to work in the city. He left with no one to play with. Sometimes he will play with their chickens and ducks, chase them until he gets tired. Talk to the other farm animals like they are his playmates.
“If ever I'll ask someone to teach you, are you willing to learn?”
“Eh?! But I don't have money to pay.”
“Don't worry about it. It's for free. I know you're a smart kid but it's just that you didn't have a proper education that's why there's a lot of things you don't know.”
“I'll ask my cousin first.” Vince meant to ask Jules's opinion. He finds Crystal as a nice person but just in a day she is being nice to him and offering him free education is too much and he starts doubting her intentions.
“Okay, it's up to you. I am willing to wait for your answer. Hoping that after I come back from holiday you have already decided.”
They then ended the day with a revision of what Crystal taught to Vince over their tea.
“Very good! I think you can do better if you start working. Just be patient with my son as he is quite grumpy sometimes.”
“Yes, mom.”
The next day Vince met his cousin Jules. He picks him up from outside Jake's house.
“Where are we going, Jules?” Vince asks when they're inside the taxi but he is looking outside with amazement to see tall buildings and lots of cars as they are stuck in traffic. It seems like a new world for him. “Wow!”
“We will go shopping,” Jules responds while observing him.
“Jules, look!” He saw a big digital billboard playing Jake's shampoo commercial. “He is my boss Jake. Why is he there? He is sleeping just now in his room.”
Jules smiled. “Vince, your boss is an actor that endorses some products like the shampoo in that advertisement.”
“Actor?” He mumbled wondering what the actor was. “You mean he is doing a movie?” He asked Jules.
“Yes, he is! And he is very popular.”
“Aaahh, so I can see how he acts then because his mom told me to work as his assistant starting next week.”
“Really?” Jules was surprised.
“Yes! Yesterday, mommy Crystal trained me.”
“Mommy?!”
“Yes! She told me to call her like that.”
“Wow! Seems that in two days you got her interest. Crystal is nice but she doesn't easily trust people but you, she told you to call her mom?” Jules planned to call Crystal when he got home.
They arrived at the mall, Jules told the taxi driver. As soon as they got down Vince immediately jumped and ran around happily.
“Whohooo...” Vince shouted happily and made Jules smile but called him as people kept looking at him.
“Oh my god, is it his first time in the city?” A lady who was almost hit by Vince said loudly.
“Vince ah stop running around just walk beside me, okay? There are some displays here that might be broken if you drop them. Remember, we don't have much money to pay for it.” Jules said to him.
Vince's lips pouted, eyes still roaming around with so much amazement. “This house is so big Jules?”
“This is not a house. This is what they called a mall. Inside there are a lot of shops that sell clothes, shoes and a lot more. Later, we will go down to the basement to shop for some of your needs. Okay?”
“But I'm hungry now.” Vince's stomach rumbling indicates he is hungry.
“I heard it.” Jules talking about his stomach. “Let's go find some food.”
“I want a hotpot.”
“Okay. I'll treat you now but if you get your salary it's your turn to treat me.”
“Salary?”
“Yes. Jake will pay you while you're working with him.”
“Aaahh...but Jules I made a lot already. Does he still need to pay me?” He asked innocently with lips pouting waiting for Jules to respond while they're queuing at a hotpot restaurant.
“What mistakes?”
“First, I burnt his bread for breakfast. Second, I blew the condoms.......” he didn't finish as Jules's eyes widened just to hear the word condom.
“What did you just say? Condoms? How come you know this kind of thing?” He bombarded Vince with questions but inside of him, he is a bit nervous for his cousin.
“Condoms, yes! I saw it in Jake's drawer and I thought they were balloons so I blew them all and hung them on his window to surprise him. To make up with him because I burnt his breakfast.”
The people next to them can't stop themselves from laughing as Vince said it a bit loud to Jules, able for them to hear it.
“Why are they laughing Jules?” Vince asked as people were looking at him while laughing.
“Just ignore them. What else did you make mistakes?”
“The day I called you but you didn't answer, Jake asked me to wash his clothes and told me to separate whites from colors but his favorite t-shirt has three colors with white so I cut them to separate the colored ones.”
Jules's mouth agape as he was shocked. People behind them continue laughing.
“What is funny, huh?” Jules turned and asked the people behind them when he recovered himself from Vince's revelations about what he said were his mistakes at work. Vince, as Jules asked him earlier to ignore them, just doesn't care as he is not aware that his mistakes are funny to other people.
Those people closed their mouths to stop themselves from laughing as Jules glared at them one by one.
“Jules ah, how long do we need to stand here? I'm already very hungry.” Vince whines.
“It's our turn to go inside,” Jules responded as the restaurant receptionist approached him.
Jules ordered Vince's favorite hotpot.
“I miss Papa and Mama.” Vince pouted as he remembered his parents back home. They always have a hotpot every time he requests his mother to prepare it and he will be happy to help her. It's like their bonding in the kitchen while his father is on his way back from the farm.
“Isn't it's you who insisted on coming here?” Jules told him.
“Yes but I just miss them.” He rested his chin on his hands looking at his cousin while waiting for their orders.
“After our lunch, we will go watch a movie.” Jules suddenly got the idea to cheer up his cousin. Vince's eyes beaming with happiness. His entire life he never went to the cinema. They didn't even have a new model television. They have the old model black and white which he cannot appreciate the show as he found it boring without colors.
“Jules? Yey!” He clapped his hands happily
and quickly stood up from his seat and hugged his cousin from behind. People are looking at them, some just smile as they find it sweet to see them. But those people who were laughing earlier at him, again laughed as they found his gesture funny.
Two hours later.
“Jules, hold me please I can't see,” Vince whined as they entered the cinema. The movie they're going to watch is Conjuring as that is the only movie that hasn't started yet at that time. It's about to start so all the lights are already switched OFF.
“Just hold on to me as I am looking for our seat.” Jules tagged Vince's shirt.
“It's so loud,” Vince complained as he is a bit sensitive to so much noise.
“Quiet as the movie is about to start. People don't like it when you are noisy. Here put these 3D glasses on.” Jules passes the glasses to him.
Vince put it on. “ Whoah! So nice!” He said as he look around using the 3D glasses.
“Vince, quiet, please. Later people will scold you.” Jules whispered to him. “Here, eat this.” He passed him the popcorn that they bought. Jules knows Vince loves eating so he bought popcorn for him even though they just finished their lunch. Everyone was watching quietly until.
“Wahhhh...Jules help! The.....theeee... monster is coming to me.” Vince screamed pointing in the direction where he saw what he called a monster and climbed up on the seat.
“Hey! Go home if you're scared. So stupid to choose this movie and get scared.” The guy from behind them said angrily.
“Vince ah..get down people are watching.” Jules felt embarrassed but he understands his cousin why he is acting that way.
“But I'm scared.” Vince slowly gets down sliding his backside against the seat, shaking with so much fear. His hand was on his mouth to help himself not to scream.
“Okay. Let's go out before people will scold us again.” Jules decided as he doesn't want people to scold Vince again.
“Jules?” Vince gets Jules's attention when they're outside the cinema.
“Hmm?” He responded without looking at Vince.
“My pants are wet.” He said while touching his pants from behind.
Jules abruptly held him and turned him around.
“Oh my goodness. You.....aaaahhh... hurry up. Let's go to the toilet and stay there, wait for me.” They quickly went to the toilet. Jules left him in one of the cubicles telling him not to go out until he will come back.
“Haist! Jules takes so long. I'm tired of sitting here.” He then leaned against the cubicle and slowly drifted to sleep.
While Vince is sleeping outside there are people gathered as they noticed the cubicle hasn't opened for almost an hour and they noticed that there's somebody inside. They called the security's attention.
“Maybe something bad happened to him we don't know.” A man in his forties says.
“But I heard him snoring. He might be sleeping.”
“Okay. I'll ask the assigned cleaner to open it.” The security then came out, the moment Jules also came back with a bag where inside is new underwear and a pair of pants for Vince.
“Vince ah, open this door.” He knocked on the door but Vince didn't open it.
“The security went out to look for the cleaner to open the cubicle. Do you know who is inside?” The man asked Jules.
“He is my cousin. I left him to buy a new pair of pants.” He responded to the guy. “Vince ah open the door. If you don't open it I will take a dog and get you from inside.” He knows Vince will wake up as he is scared of the dog. They then heard a soft noise from inside. The door then opened.
“Good morning, Jules,” Vince said, yawning, stretching his arms not aware that people were looking at him.
“Good morning to your face. Here take this and change.”
Vince took the bag and threw his wet pants outside for Jules to catch.
“Eeewww...” He complained as Vince's wet pants landed on his face.
