"Babe, I have a night shift today, so I'll be back by next evening. Would you be okay getting to the office on your own? Do you want me to come from the hospital and drop you off?" Mia asked, looking at her friend who was previously engrossed in a book.
"No, no, no, Mia. Please, don't put in so much effort, okay? I mean, just do your hospital duties perfectly. Don't disturb your routine. Trust me," Hannah replied, giving her the most assuring smile.
"I'm not disturbing anything," Mia said, glaring at her.
"Okay? Still, Mia, I can manage. I can manage, and I'm perfectly fine."
Mia's smile disappeared for a moment. She didn't want to bring up those articles again, having seen her friend suffer a few hours before. "Don't worry about me," she said.
