Liam checked his phone again. He had called Hannah over a hundred times, but she didn't pick up. She hadn't replied to his messages either. He felt a mixture of worry and frustration.
"Did you get those papers signed?" he asked his assistant, Jake.
"Yes, sir. I got them signed. We're good to go with this project," Jake replied.
"Okay, great. But how is she?" Liam's tone softened as he asked about Hannah.
"Well, sir, I saw her at the company she works at. She seemed fine, but she looked a little lost. As soon as she saw me, she started searching for you, I think. She was nervously looking around," Jake said.
These words brought a kind of relief to Liam. "Oh, she was looking for me," he thought. "Thank you, Jake. You can leave now," he said.
