Chapter 3

Jessica Light

Three months had passed, I gained friends. They are twin, Andrea and Andrew, and they were also my roommate. I have more friends but not so close like the two. 

These passed few months I learned too much. I already shifted a few months ago. My wolf has all white fur. It's like a snowflakes and I love her color. I became more stronger in physical, in human form or in wolf form. 

Sabi nila bibihira raw ang katulad namin na maaga nagsi-shift. Malakas daw kapag ganoon ang nangyari. Kaya ito kami ngayon sa gym kasi pinatawag kami ng headmistress, lalo na raw ako. Nakarating daw sa elder ang maaga kong pag-shift. Also they say, bagay raw ako sa maging warrior.  

Madali ko ring natutunan kong paano makontrol ang wolf ko, lalo na 'pag galit ito. Hindi katulad ng iba na halos kainin na sila ng wolf nila dahil mas dominante ito. 

"Jess, tara na. Pinapatawag ka na roon." Tawag sa akin ni Drew(Andrew) na tinutukoy ang kanilang banda. Nauna na rin siya maglakad kaya sumunod na lang din ako rito. Nagkakapagtataka dahil pinapunta pa ako sa ibang lugar para kausapin. Tapos, ako lang mag-isa pinatawag at 'yong iba ay pinapabalik na sa gagawin nila. May naririnig pa akong may nagsabi ng sayang at hindi nila makikita kahit isa lang sa Elder.

Kinakabahan na ako pero hindi naman ako natatakot. Parang excited pa nga ako, e. Ang wolf ko naman ay sobrang saya niya na hindi ko alam kung bakit. She was jumping inside my head. 

'Ash, please stop doing that. Nahihilo ako sayo.' Ash is my wolf's name. Nakinig din naman siya sa akin. 

Hindi ko namalayang nasa harap ng kami ng Grand Hall. Dito dinaraos lahat ng importanting okasyon. Ang laki at ang lawak nito na kayang pumuno ng limang daan katao. 

Kumatok na si Drew. Itong wolf ko na naman ay nag-umpisa na naman siyang magtatalon. Excited lang ano?

"Come in." Sabi ng boses sa loob. Alam ko ang head ng institution yon. Ilang beses ko na rin siyang nakita kasi palagi akong pinapatawag para mamonitor daw ako. My strength is not like the others and it's unusual. So here it goes, the elders.

Drew opened the door for us. There was only twelve people inside; seven who's wearing cloak so I don't see the faces, the head and her right hand, the president of all the people in the institution and it's vice, and also Drew twin Drea(Andrea). 

I sniffed the air, meron isa sa mga nakasuot ng balabal na nagpapasaya sa inner wolf ko. Not a mate, but a family. I didn't know my real family but my wolf know there smell. Maybe it's the instinct. 

I closed my eyes and followed the smell until I stopped in front of one person. When I opened my eyes, I was so shock I am in front of one of the elders. The other elders wanted to approach me to scold me but stopped by the elders in front of me. I know it's a man. 

"So, you already know me." The elder said to me. 

"Who are you? Your smell... Like I know you before... I know we hadn't meet before... Why-why... My wolf... Like it's know you. Please..." I was shuttering because of nervousness and overwhelming I feeling at the moment. 

"Who do you think I am to you?" He moved even closer to me so I could smell him clearly. "I know now why you shift so early." He paused for a while. "So who am I to you?"

I smelled him again. The color of my eyes changed, it's my wolf. "Your not my father. But your a family." I smelled him more deeply. "An uncle." 

I knew he smile kahit may nakatakip pa rin sa mukha niya. All of them gasped when I said those words. He slowly took off his cloak. 

I was so shock. It was like I'm looking in a mirror. "This is the 1st time I let people see my face. For you my child." There was a smile in his lips when he said those words. Even the Elders were surprised for the revelation. "Yes, I'm your uncle. At kung bakit magkamukha tayo, kakambal ko ang iyong ina. Dapat ang iyong ina ang nasa pwesto ko ngayon. But," may lungkot akong nakikita sa mga mata niya. "Pumanaw siya nong pinanganak ka niya. Nagpapasalamat ako ngayon na nakita na ulit kita." Sabay yakap sa akin. 

Nong niyakap niya ako, I fell like I'm already home. Walang akong naririnig na nagsalita pa. Hindi ko napigilang mapaiyak. Dahil sa lungkot na wala na ang ina ko at sa saya dahil may pamilya pa ako. 

Kumalas siya sa yakap at hinawakan ako sa balikat. Tinitigan niya ako ng matagal. Hinawakan ang mukha ko at ni yakap muli. "Pasensya at hindi kita naprotektehan---kayo ng mama mo. Pero pinahanap kita." 

Lalo akong naiyak. Niyakap niya ako na parang ama na nag-aalo ng anak. Nang mahimasmasan ako ay lumayo na rin ako. 

Bumalik na rin siya sa pwesto niya kanina. "Ngayong alam kong pamilya ka. Kukunin na kita," at tiningnan niya ang mga kaibigan ko. "At alam kong ayaw mo silang iwan dito kaya kasama natin sila. Malalakas naman sila." He paused again and looked at me. "Sorry, My Child. I can't give you back the title being an elder." He looked so sad. "I never knew that you're still alive." 

"Okay lang po. Basta gusto ko lang po maging malakas at maipagtanggol ang mahihina." I said to him. Tahimik lang ang ibang Elders. 

"Like a true alpha, ha? I can give you that if that what you want." Tumingin Ito sa isang elder. "Elder Crain, isali mo sila sa Organization. Train her with your best." Tumango lang ito. Tumingin uli siya sa akin.  "He will train you to be strong. So you can protect our people and the other supernatural creatures. The Organization ay isang organisasyong binuo ng iba't ibang uri ng nilalang. But there's one goal... to protect us all." 

He walked near me again and hugged me. "Welcome back my child."
