Memories

 Laughter was coming from the happy family. Alexandra was giggling at her mother’s jokes. They were traveling for the little girl’s birthday. Her mother played the radio and started singing along with it. Alex was more than happy at this moment. She started copying her mother’s movement. Alexandra’s father was laughing at the two girls.

-          Mommy, can I come in front, to sit with you?

-          Baby, daddy is driving right now, and we will bother him if you come. – told Alli her mother. – Why don’t you stay there and when we stop for a break, we well ask daddy if you can come in front.

Alexandra was happy. Maybe this was one of the happiest moments in her life, but also the saddest.

They were getting close to the gas station where the family was going to get a little rest, when her mother screamed.

-          Honey, watch out! – she screamed

Her father hit the breaks and turned the wheel to it’s maximum. Alli’s mother turned around and tried reaching for her.

-          Alexandra, come here right now! – she told her with a scared voice.

The little girl was incapable of moving. Her mother tried to take her and protect her. The car crashed. Alli’s mother was thrown thought the front window, her father crashed his head at the wheel. … there was blood, … blood everywhere, … Alex opened her eyes, …

-          Mommy, … mommy, … where are you? – she started crying. – Daddy, where is mommy? – Alex was pushing her father’s shoulder, but there was no response.  - Daddy, please wake up. Daddy, mommy is not here. – she kept pushing him.

Everything was red. No word, no movement, not even the slightest noise was coming from her father. Alexandra opened her door and stepped outside of the car. She wanted to go to her father’s side, to search for her mother, but she was stopped.

-          No, let me go! – she was screaming to the hands that took her.

-          Shhhhh, you are fine. – the woman’s voice was telling her – You will be okay.

The strange woman dragged her far from the car, when the explosion came. The fire was burning everything around them. The girl was crying, while the strange woman was holding her in her arms.

-          Mommy, - Alli was calling her mother.

-          Shhhh, sweetheart, everything is going to be fine, - she was saying while patting the little girl on her head.

A man came close to the strange woman, and hugged her.

-          Are you okay, love? – he asked her

-          Yeah, I’m fine. – she said – Erik, I couldn’t save them. I had time only to take her far from the car. – she told him while her eyes were filling with tears.

-          It’s not your fault, baby. – he said – You saved this little girl, you should be proud of yourself. – he told her

-          But her parents, … they are gone. – she said with tears falling down

-          Please baby don’t cry. – he begged – There was nothing you could do. We just came too late. – he said – And if it wasn’t the screams of the little girl, we might have never stopped here. – the man told her

-          I know. – she woman said and hugged Alli even harder.

-          No, … no, … don’t go, … NO – Alexandra woke up covered in sweat.

It’s been years since the last time she had this dream. The dream of her parents’ death. Even now she still couldn’t remember the faces of her saviors. After all these years, her heart was still aching at the thought of her parents. She never found out what was the reason for the crash. No one found. She never remembered. … Alli sat on the edge of the bed, trying to calm her heart down. She stood up and just before she headed to the bathroom, Lukas entered the room with a worry in his eyes.

-          Are you okay? – he asked her – Your heart rate was out of control. Alli, baby, what happened?

-          No! – she said, - Stay away! – Alli told him while rising he hands in front of her, with the intention to create more space between them. – Don’t come any closer! – she said

Lukas was hurt. He knew that his mate won’t easily accept the truth about him, but watching her suffer and not being able to help her, to hold her in his arms, that was hurting him.

-          Alli, I won’t hurt you. – he told her – I was just worried for you. When I heard your heart rate increasing, I came as fast as possible. I thought that you were in danger. … please, Alli – he begged her

The fear in Alexandra’s eyes was disappearing. Slowly she dropped her hands, and looked in his eyes.

-          Are you really not gonna hurt me? – she asked with trembling voice.

-          Never! – he ensured her

Lukas took a step closer to her. Then another. And when he saw that she wasn’t trying to escape from him, he shortened the distance between them with a huge step and hugged her. Alli was first constrained, but then her body started to relax. She wrapped her arms around him.

-          What happened baby? – he asked her

-          I had a nightmare. – she told him

-          What kind of nightmare? The same as your others? – Lukas asked

-          No, this time it was about my parents’ death. – she told him

-          Your parents? – he asked with curiosity

-          Yes, - she said – It was the accident. … when everything went wrong …

-          I’m sorry love. It must have been hard. – Luke said.

Even thou, Alexandra still had her doubts, she was trusting Lukas. Without knowing why, she was feeling comfortable around him. She was feeling safe.

-          I want to take a shower. – Alli broke the silence – I’m covered in sweat

-          Okay, - said Lukas and released her from his embrace – I will wait for you here. After you are done, we can go downstairs and take something to eat. – he told her. – You’ve been sleeping for the last two days, and you haven’t eaten anything.

-          I’m not hungry. – Alli told him

-          I know, but you still have to eat. – Luke said

Alli looked at his eyes and saw that, no matter what she says, he will still take her downstairs and give her food. She shrugged her shoulders in a defeat.

-          Okay, I will be ready in a while. – she told Lukas

She made her way to the bathroom and closed the door after herself. Alli filled the tub and entered the hot water. Her nerves slowly started to relax, and soon she was feeling much better. The memories from the day, both with Sang, tried to escape, entered her head. How was it even possible? – Alli was thinking. If she hadn’t saw it with her own eyes, she would have never believed that werewolves exist. Was she crazy? – the girl thought. How was she capable to accept this so fast?

-          There must be something wrong with me. – Alli told to herself – No normal person will act like me. … Like nothing has happened. – she kept talking to herself. I must be going crazy.

Lukas was listening to the conversation Ally was having with herself, and he couldn’t stop himself from smiling. He was glad that his mate was coming to terms with everything. Luke took some of Alli’s clothes and prepared them for her. When the girl stepped out of the bathroom, she was wearing nothing but a towel. He got aroused very quickly. His front was starting to hurt him from the arousal. Lukas tried to calm himself down. He stood up from his place, and walked himself to his mate. The man hugged Alli from behind, and buried hi face into her neck. She noticed the bumping in his pants, that was pressing at her back.

-          You have no idea how much I love you. – told her Lukas. – You are just perfect. – he said while kissing her neck

Alli turned her head on one side giving him better access to her neck. He was teasing her with kisses. A quiet moan escaped her mouth. Before Lukas has lost control of himself, he stepped back.

-          You should better get dressed love, before I lose control of myself. – he told her.

Alli’s eyes widened with surprise. She wasn’t expecting that. Still she put her clothes and when she was ready, Lukas took her arm and led her out of the room. Even when the were at the kitchen, Lukas still didn’t let go of her hand.

-          Sit here, I’m gonna make you something to eat. – he told her

-          Can you cook? – Alli asked

-          … not really, but I think I can make eggs or bacon.  – he said looking at her

-          You can’t cook and you still wish to make me something to eat? – Alli busted out laughing. Okay, let me cook. I don’t want you to burn the kitchen. – she said, and led him to the table, making him sit there and wait for her.

Alexandra was preparing pancakes and bacon, while Lukas was enjoying the view.

Sang was still sleeping. From the day she passed out, she hasn’t woken up. Nathan was always by her side. Yesterday he even called the pack doctor to check her, but he said that there was nothing he could do. Nate was becoming more worried with each minute passing. Suddenly he heard movement. Sang was moving her head like she was trying to wake up. Her eyes slowly started to open. Nathan quickly sat beside her. He was holding her arm, talking to the girl.

-          Hey, baby, wake up. You’ve been sleeping for a very long time. Come on, love, it’s time to open your eyes.

Sang was looking at the guy, with a blurry vision. That was him, the man that she wished to see. Even without seeing him clearly, she recognized his voice.

-          Nate? … Where am I? … - she asked him

-          You are home, with me. – he told her – I will never let you go again.

-          Nate, - said Sang while trying to sit in the bed – what happened after I passed out? – she asked him

-          We took you back at the house, and you’ve been sleeping since then. – he told her

Sang remembered the reason she lost consciousness. She turned her head at Nate’s direction looking at him with wonder. Even thou it was crazy, and insane, and everything, she wasn’t afraid. She was just curious.

-          Nate, why haven’t you told me earlier? –  she asked him – Why you were hiding something like this from me? – Sang questioned him.

-          It wasn’t like I wanted to hide it. I was following the orders of my alpha, and I was afraid that if I tell you, or show you who I am, you will freak out. – he explained

-          I would have probably freaked out, but that’s not a reason for you to hide it from me. – she started raising her voice

-          It is, love. It is. I don’t want to scare you. I never wanted you to be afraid of me. That’s why I hid it. – Nate said with a sad smile. – You see, baby, we, all werewolves, have mates. Soulmates given to us from the Moon Goddess. Once we find them, we can’t live without them. And you baby, you are my soulmate. … when I first saw you at the cliffs, I barely made myself stay away from you. But as you can tell, only a couple of hours later, I came to you. I found you at that café, laughing with Alli, I couldn’t stay away anymore. When you introduced yourself to me and I took your hand, I already knew that I won’t be capable to live without you.

-          But, how is that possible? – Sang asked in shock

-          The bond. – he told her – Whenever a werewolf finds his mate, the bond is created. It becomes stronger with time. I don’t really know if people feel the bond, but for werewolves, … well let’s just say that we can’t stay away from our mates, because of the bond. It allows us to hear your heartbeat, sense your feelings and know where you are all the time.

-          So, you can tell what I feel right now? – Sang asked

-          Yes, I can sense your confusion and curiosity. Also, I can tell that you are not afraid of me. – he said with a smirk.

-          Aha, - Sang said – You seem pretty satisfied with yourself. – she joked

Nathan brought Sang closer and kissed her with passion and love. She deepened the kiss and when both of them were almost out of air, Nate broke it.

-          I love kissing you baby, but I want you to have something to eat before we can continue with that. – he said with pleased look on his face.

Sang nodded, hiding her blushed face in him. She was happy right now. Even the dream she had couldn’t spoil her happiness.
