Rejected

Lukas was enjoying the breakfast his mate had made. He was looking at Alli, who was struggling with the food in her plate. The alpha wasn’t happy that his mate wasn’t eating enough. He heard the steps of his beta and Sang coming downstairs. Soon enough, both of them were at the kitchen. Sang went straight to her friend.

-          Sunshine, how are you? – she asked with concern

-          Fine, but I should be the one asking you. – she told her – You passed out Sang, how do you feel? And when did you wake up? – Alli asked her friend

-           About an hour ago. I was going to come straight to you, but I had more urgent conversation to make. – she explained

-          You mean? – Alli raised he eyebrow

-          I had to talk with Nate. About everything. – Sang told her

-          And I’m curious what he had told you. Because Lukas told me nothing.

-          Where should I start? – asked Sang

-          From the beginning. – Alli said

Lukas was feeling uncomfortable while Sang was telling her friend everything she had learned from Nate. He gave his friend an angry look. Nathan had told Sang everything, well almost everything. Luckily, he hadn’t told her about the rogues and of course, about that man. When Sang finished talking, Alli was looking angrily at Lukas.

-          When were you planning to tell me? – she asked – And were you even planning to tell me that you have seen me before we met at that café? – asked Alli, even more angrily.

-          I was going to tell you, just not now. – told her Lukas

-          Aha, … - she said

-          Nathan is there anything else I should know? – she asked him, unknowingly using her Luna voice.

-          There are a lot of rogue attacks, - said Nate incapable of disobeying his Luna. – and we think that the one standing beside them is the same man we saw at the mall. – he continued

-          What? … - asked Alli – And since when do you suspect him? – she was getting out of control. Even Sang wasn’t capable to stop her at that moment. Alli was furious.

-          We found about him, right after Samantha came here. – he said

Lukas was watching how his mate was getting even more furious. He knew his friend had no fault, after all, no one can disobey Luna’s orders. The same as the Alpha, the Luna had an enormous power over all of the members in the pack. Alexandra looked Lukas in the eyes and he saw sorrow and betrayal in hers.

-          So, you knew that he was alive long before he attacked us? – Alli asked him with pain in her voice.

-          Alli, love, … I … I, just wanted to protect you. – Lukas said, standing from his place

-          Stay away from me! – she said, - I don’t want you to come any closer. In a matter of fact, I don’t want to see you ever again. Get out of my sight! – she screamed and pointed him the exit of the kitchen.

Lukas’ heart was hurting. His wolf was howling in pain. His own mate rejected him. Well not completely, but still enough to break his heart into pieces. He left the room without saying anything. … Alli was trembling with anger. Sang was trying to calm her down, but nothing worked. She was angry too, but she wasn’t blaming them. The girl understood, why they never said a word about that man. She knew they only wanted to protect them.

-          Luna, please, Alli, don’t do that. Don’t reject Lukas. That is going to kill him. – Nathan begged

-          What do you mean? – Alli asked – What the hell do you mean with that Nathan?

-          If our mate rejects us, we die. We die Alli. – told her Samantha. She had heard all of their conversation.

Samantha entered the kitchen, with a gloomy expression. Even thou she loved her new friends, she couldn’t allow Alli to kill Lukas.

-          When we find our mates, we mark the. Well, the males mark the females. You have the mark too Alli. It’s on your neck. – Sam said, as Alli touched her neck. – if any of us reject the other before the marking, we feel extreme pain, but we survive. But if we get rejected by our mate after the marking, we will die. – she explained

-          s**t! – Alli cursed. She never wanted to kill Lukas. – What can I do to stop it? – she asked – I don’t want him to die, I’m just pissed at him.

-          You should tell him that you take back the rejection. – said Nathan. He knew that his alpha wasn’t going to die, because Alli never fully rejected him. But he was sure that his friend is in great pain right now.

Alli stormed out of the room and headed outside. She wasn’t sure how, but she knew Lukas was there.

-          Lukas, - she screamed – where the hell are you? … Lukas, - Alli screamed his name again.

A huge wolf appeared in front of her. She instantly knew this was Luke.

-          Listen to me very carefully, because I’m only gonna say this once. I Alexandra Wilson, take back my rejection. – she said

Lukas quickly shifted back and took step closer to his mate. His wolf was no longer in pain. As he was about to hug her, she stopped him with her arm.

-          Look, … Nathan told me what I had done when I said that. I never meant to hurt you, especially to kill you. So, I’m taking back my words, but it doesn’t mean anything. Let me tell you two things: first – I won’t share a room with you anymore, and second – forget about us being a couple. – she told him – The one thing I hate most in this world is someone lying to me. And you did that, more than once. So, both with Sang will stay here for now, but once we deal with Boss, I’m leaving. – she said

-          What? – asked Luke – You will leave? … But why does it sound like only you will leave?

-          Because it is like that. I’m not blind Lukas. And I can see that Sang is madly in love with Nate. I’m not gonna separate them, only because I wish to leave. – she said with a sad voice, - It’s gonna be hard at the beginning, because I will have to go back to Vegas alone, but I will be fine with time. – she explained

Sang heart their conversation and she felt like a traitor. And while Sang was thinking about the conversation she heard, Lukas was feeling broken again. He was so happy a moment ago. He thought he had won his mate’s forgiveness, when she told him that she will leave him once Boss is taken care of. Luke was becoming desperate. He no longer knew what to do.

Alli entered the house and headed to the room she was shearing with Lukas. He was following her in a short distance. Once there, she took her suitcase and started putting her clothes in there. When she was done, she looked at Lukas and asked hum:

-          Where can I stay, alpha? – she asked using formal language

Once he heard her, Lukas knew that his mate was more than angry at him. Now he understood that she took her rejection, only because she didn’t wanted him to die because of her.

-          There is a free room right next to Samantha’s. I will show it to you. – he said with a voice full of pain

While walking to the room, Alli’s heart was breaking. She felt the pain in his voice, she saw it in his eyes. Alexandra knew that she somehow loved this man, but he lied to her, and that was something she couldn’t forgive. … Lukas showed her the room. It was smaller, but big enough for one person.

-          Thank you, alpha. – she said – I will prepare the rent for the last ten days, and I will pay you the next one after ten more days. – Alli told him

-          Alli, you don’t need to pay any rent. This is your home. – he said

-          No, this isn’t my home. My home is in Las Vegas. And Sang may not need to pay rent, but I have to. I’m no longer connected to this place. … Now, if you excuse me alpha, I want to stay alone. – she told him coldly.

Alexandra entered her room and locked the door after her. She dropped her suitcase on the floor, as her tears started falling down. She lost it. She lost the best thing in her life, except Sang. Desperation took over her. She no longer wanted to see anyone. Alli headed to the bed and curved in ball under the covers. She cried till she fall asleep.
