No way

The car was moving through the forest with more than hundred miles per hour. Alexandra was driving like crazy, escaping the trees that appeared in front of them at the last possible moment. The road was awful and there was no marking. The girls were just following the barely visible path. The tension in the car was almost visible. No sound was made. The only thing you could hear was the engine and the noise from the broken branches on the road. They were almost outside of the forest.

Lukas was sitting in his office, dealing with the paperwork, he had neglected for the past couple of days. The stress was becoming too much. Not only he had to take care for five hundred werewolves, but also, he was responsible for his mate’s security. That and the fact that his cousin’s mate needed protection too, was becoming too much for him. Since the moment he woke up this morning, Lukas was having a terrible feeling. As he was about to take the new pile of documents, Tom knocked on the door.

-          Enter! – said Lukas with a tired voice

-          Alpha, here is the report from the morning patrol at the borders. No intruders were found. – told him Tom

-          Leave it over there. Is there something else? – Lukas asked

-          No, not for now. Luna and her friend were having lunch at the living room with Luna Dixon, before I leave the mansion. Everything seemed normal. – explained Tom

-          Okay you can go back. Watch over them. – told Lukas and dismissed hid delta

Tom headed to the mansion, right after he gave his report to the alpha. He was determined this time to take really good care of his Luna. He was almost at the front door when he heard the voice of Lukas through the mind-link.

-          There is something wrong with Alli, I can’t sense her. It’s like she isn’t here anymore. Get in the house as fast as possible Tom. – he ordered him

The delta did not hesitate, he stormed in the mansion, and started looking for Alli and Sang. He checked his alpha’s room first, bit there was no trace of Alexandra. Tom searched the entire house. Finally, the last room left was Luna Dixon’s. he entered without knocking, but there were only Samantha and Dany in there.

-          Where are Alexandra and Sang? – he asked Dixon’s mate

-          They left. – she told him – They took all of their stuff, and they left.

Tom couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

-          When? How? – he asked

-          Little after twelve o’clock. They took the spare keys for Lukas’ car. – she answered him while changing Dany’s clothes

-          Why you haven’t told any of us? – angrily asked Tom

-          Because, I felt it right. If I was on their place, I would have done the same thing. That’s why I didn’t told you. – Sam explained

Without wasting more time Tom connected with his alpha.

-          They are not here alpha. – he told him – The girls have escaped. They have taken your car right after I left the house.

-          WHAT? – Lukas asked, jumping from his chair. – Find them! As fast as possible. I can still sense her presence, that means they are not far. They still haven’t left our land. – he said angrily – I want all border patrols to watch for my car. Every inch of land to be searched! – he said through the mind-link giving the order to every wolf in his pack.

Since the alpha has ordered them, all the werewolves that were currently in the pack’s land started searching for their Luna. Lukas wasted no time, he jumped from the window of his office changing into his wolf in the air, and started tracing the scent of his mate.

Nathan was training with one of the patrol groups, when he heard the order of his friend. His face became pale, and without thinking he ran to the forest, searching for his mate. There were so many werewolves that took part in the search. Some were checking the borders, other were searching the woods. One of the youngsters, saw his alpha’s car. It was almost at the sought border of the pack’s land. Without losing time, he told his alpha the location of Alexandra and Sang. All of the members of the pack headed to the direction of the two girls.

Alli was seeing the end of the forest. Finally, they have made it. The main road was just couple of miles in front them. They were about to take the last turn, before leaving the woods, when suddenly a huge wolf appeared in front of the car.

-          The brakes, Alli. Hit the brakes! – screamed Sang

-          Holly s**t. – cursed Alli, while hitting the brakes.

The car was moving too fast and the girls couldn’t stop. Just before they hit themselves straight into the wolf, Alli made a turn and the hit one of the trees. The air bags opened instantly as the car crashed. Lukas was not moving from his place. He knew that his mate wasn’t hurt at all. Within seconds more wolfs gathered around the alpha. The pack had surrounded both girls. Nathan was standing right next to his friend. Alli opened the door of the car and tried to get out. Her food was stuck between the seat and the wheel.

-          Sang help me out. I can’t get my foot out. It stuck. – she begged her friend

-          Just a second All, - said Sang still in shock.

When she got out of the car, still dizzy, the girl headed to her friend using the car for support. She was at Alli’s side when she saw them. Her first reaction was to capture Alexandra’s hand tightly, them she screamed.

-          Aaaaaaaaaa, wo- … wol- … - she was stuttering

-          What? What happened? – asked Alli

Sang was incapable to say a word. She just pointed with her hand at the direction of the wolfs.

Alli looked at what her friend was trying to show her when she saw them. They were huge, especially the one staring at her. His golden eyes we looking right at her. She wasn’t even capable of screaming. … Alexandra grabbed Sang’s hand and tried to drag her into the car. Incapable of moving because of her leg, she was giving her best to make Sang get back into the car. The huge wolf started walking into their direction. Slowly, but with such a grace. Halfway to them, they heard cracking. It was coming from him. His paws were twisting along with hist head. The girl’s eyes were wide opened. As he was walking to them, from a wolf he transformed to a human. And not any human, he became Lukas.

Alexandra couldn’t believe her eyes. That was Lukas, the man she slept with, the man in whose house she was living. The other werewolves followed their alpha, and changed into people. Tat wasn’t possible, Alexandra thought. Sang was already in such a big shock that she turner her eyes and passed out.

Lukas was almost at the car. He never stopped looking at his mate’s eyes. He saw all the emotions running through her face.

-          I think I told you that you are not going anywhere Alli. – he told her with a very calm voice.

But she knew that she needs to be afraid exactly from that calm expression he had on his face. Anger, she could manage, fury – sometimes, but calmness – never.

-          Don’t come near me! – she said with a trembling voice. The fear was written on her face.

-          You know that I will never hurt you love. – Luke told her, as he kept walking towards the girl. – I won’t hurt you Alli. – he repeated

Lukas was right in front of her. He was feeling furious and hurt, but as soon as he saw the fear his mate felt when she saw him, he couldn’t stay angry at her. He helped Alli get her leg free, and took her out of the car. Nathan had already taken Sang from the ground and he was holding her close to him. The moment Lukas’ hands made contact with Alexandra, she tried to dodge. She was more afraid of him now, than she was from Boss. Deep inside her she knew he won’t harm her, but still …

-          Alli, look at me! – Lukas told her – I’m not gonna hurt you. I promise. – he said with hope that she won’t try to backdown again. – I just want to help you out. You have hurt your leg, and you won’t be capable of moving by yourself.

Alexandra’s eyes we still wide opened, but somehow, she managed to nod. Lukas took her in his embrace and walked away of the car.

-          What are you? – she asked

-          Not now Alli. – he told her. – Let’s get home first.

-          Home? – she questioned

-          Yes, home. Our home. The place where you will always be protected. The place where both of you will be safe. – he said

Without saying anything, Lukas gave a silent order to his pack to go back to their homes. He was caring Alli on the way back, when Tom intercepted them with the car. Without saying anything the men entered the car with their mates in hands.

They arrived in front of the mansion couple of minutes later. Apparently, there was a shorter path that the girls could have used. Lukas dismissed Tom till the end of the day. He entered the house with Alli in his hands. She was still shaking, but not as bad as before. Samantha welcomed them with Dany in her hands.

-          Welcome back – she told them

Lukas was displeased with what she made, but he decided to discuss it later with her. He headed straight to his room. Once there, Luke placed Alli carefully on the bed.

-          How is your leg? – he asked her

-          It’s good actually, but it doesn’t matter. – she told him – What are you? – Alli asked again, with fear in her voice

-          Alli, …. – Lukas tried to escape the question, but as soon as he saw the determination in her eyes, he gave up. – Werewolf – he told her

-          Wh … what? – she stuttered

-          A werewolf, Alli. We, all of us here are werewolves. – he said

-          But, … that’s not possible. Werewolves doesn’t exist. They are only in movies and fairytales. – she stated, as her eyes widened even more.

-          No, love we exist, and we are quite real. – Luke told her, as he placed his hand on her face. – But right now, you need to rest. I will be here when you wake up. – he told her

The entire emotions and the shock took over her, and Alli felt really tired. She was still afraid of him, but also, she knew, that she was safe with here, with Lukas. Without even saying anything she closed her eyes and fall asleep.
