The reason

The alpha went downstairs where the others were. He had gloomy expression on his face and his eyes were empty. Even thou his mate accepted him, she made sure, he will understand that there will be nothing between them. When he entered the living room, he saw Sang sitting in Nate’s lap and Samantha feeding Dany.

-          Luke, what happened? – asked Sam. – You don’t look well.

Lukas just gave her an empty look. He said nothing. Nate moved Sang on the couch, and went to his friend.

-          Hey, buddy, what happened over there? – he asked the question again

Lukas was still silent. He didn’t want to discuss this topic right now.

-          Do you want me to tell you what happened? – asked Sang

Two heads turned on her direction. There was curiosity and wonder in their eyes.

-          Babe, how can you know? – asked her Nate

-          I know, because I know my friend perfectly. I’ve been living with her for more than ten years.  That’s why I know, that she cut him off. I bet she told you that she had done that only to save your live, and she no longer want to have anything in common with you. I can even bet, that she gave you money for renting the room. – said Sang

Lukas turned to her and looked her in eyes. Now his eyes were expressing amusement.

-          Hey Lukas, when you are finally gonna meet me with your mate? – asked Elli without noticing her brother’s mood.

-          Ell, not now. – told her Nathan

Helen then looked at her brother. He had the worst expression she ever saw on him. He was like a living creature without a soul.

-          Luke, brother, what happened? – she asked him with concern

He was still silent. No emotion on his face.

-          I’m heading to the office. I have some paperwork that need to be checked and also, I have to deal with that man. Alli wants to leave as soon as possible. … So, I can give her at least that. – he said and left the mansion

His sister was looking after him in disbelieve. She had never seen her brother like that.

-          Will someone tell me what’s going on? – she asked them

After Helen entered Alli’s room, she settled herself on the chair which was in front of a small desk.

Alli’s face got suspicious at the moment she learned who the girl was.

-          Does Lukas sent you? – she asked

-          No, he doesn’t even know I’m here. – she told Alli, - I was dying to meet you. Since the moment Lukas told me he had found his mate, I couldn’t wait to see you. You know, you became pretty famous among the pack. – Elli said

The realization hit Alexandra like a thunder. She had really fallen in love with Lukas. How, or when she had no idea, but as soon Helen told her, she knew the girl was right. Till now Alli was refusing to confess to herself that she loves Lukas.

After Helen left the room, Alli sat on the bed thinking about everything she learned about werewolves. Apparently, this was the way they were acting. Feeling much better, she decided to forgive Lukas, but not before she had tortured him a little bit. After all, she wanted to punish him for lying to her.
