“You’re experiencing something known as vanishing twin syndrome, which occurs when one of the twins stops developing early in the pregnancy. In this case, the body or the surviving twin absorbs the non-developing twin. This usually happens due to genetic abnormalities or complications with the placenta, where the blood supply may not be sufficient for both twins. It's important to understand that this is not caused by anything you did or could have prevented. The condition is quite common. The positive news is that, in most cases, the surviving twin can continue to develop normally.
