Chapter 3

The sun’s golden rays shimmered from the sky, as Emma stood outside Leo’s mansion.

She awaited Leo impatiently as she lingered around at the parking lot, one could tell how excited and happy she was.

Yet a mix of nervousness could be discerned as she mentally, and physically prepared herself to embark on this new chapter of her life.

Emma’s heart started to race again anticipatingly when she saw Leo step out of the mansion, outfitted in his black gean and black leather jacket.

He approached her with a sinfully hot smile, and a grin gracing his lips.

“Ready?” Leo asked, his voice profound yet desirable.

“Yes!” Emma nodded eagerly at him. “Honestly I can’t wait to see your pack and your people.”

“Our people,” Leo corrected. And with a playful grin, Leo opened the passenger door of his car for her.

“Thank you, mate!” She climbed in.

“Call me you're ‘Alpha’” He commanded with an aurthoritvity tone.

“Y-yes, my alpha!” Emma beamed nervously, and Leo closed the car door.

He smirked wickedly as he slid into the driver’s seat, he started the engine before driving out of the vast yard.

A few minutes later, Leo was still driving on the highway while Emma couldn’t help but stare at him.

She felt a sense of contentment watching Leo’s profile, and she couldn't help but marvel at how fate had brought them together, and a silent gratitude filled her heart.

“Hey, why staring at me?” Leo suddenly asked.

“Uh?” Emma was surprised that she was caught staring and she quickly looked away. “N-nothing!”

“I see… You seem happy?” Leo said plainly.

“Y-yes, I am,” Emma blushed, fidgeting her fingers.

“Good to hear. Let's just hope it last.” Leo muttered the last few words creepily.

Emma was taken aback, and she snapped her head at him confusingly. What does he mean by that?

Doesn't he want her to be happy?

A few hours later, Leo arrived at Silver Moon pack territory and he headed straight to the pack mansion.

The sight that greeted Emma was awe, and their arrival at the pack mansion was grand, surrounded by lush greenery that demonstrated the pack’s prosperity.

Emma’s excitement flooded as they approached, but it wasn’t just the physical surroundings that caught her attention. It was the people, the maids, the guards, and even the pack members who had gathered to welcome their Alpha.

Leo is the Alpha King of the Silver Moon pack, and his presence seemed to command respect as Emma watched as they all bowed their heads respectfully at him.

Leo stepped out of the car, and Emma expected him to help her with the door but he didn't.

She felt a pained emotion in her insides at his ignorance, but choose to brush that side aside as she hopped out.

Emma walked towards the gathering, and she stood beside Leo as she watched his interactions with his people.

As she stood by his side, she felt proud to be there with him.

However, after the gathering, Leo simply walked away without introducing her to his people or concerned about her presence.

He walked away as if she was invisible, and he had this coldness on his face as he if he didn't regard her.

Confusion and discomfort gnawed at Emma, but she quickly brushed it aside. She simply assumed he must be exhausted and needed rest.

Emma moved to follow him, but a frown formed on her face as one of the maids immediately stopped her in her tracks.

“And where do you think you’re going?” The maid hotly demanded with a condescending tone.

Emma was surprised at the maids harshness, but she still replied, “I’m with Leo. I’m his guest.”

She wanted to tell her that she is ‘His Mate and Luna’ But decided not to do that, it was in Leo’s position to introduce her properly to his people.

“Guest or not, follow me!”The maid’s gaze seemed to sweep over her dismissively.

Emma’s irritation expanded, but she stifled her urge to retort back at the maid disrespectfully.

Emma believed the maid was to take her to the guest room but instead, she led her to the pack’s kitchen.

“Wha—” Emma was about to ask as she was confused about why she was brought to the pack kitchen.

However, the maid pushed her inside with an order that left no room for negotiation: “Make sure you wash all the dirty plates and scrub the kitchen floor!”

Emma’s patience snapped, she couldn't hold it any longer as she exclaimed loudly, “What?! Why would I—”

“Shut up!” The maid’s shouted, and Emma’s eyes widened.

The maid laughed and it was tinged with mockery. “A mere Omega like you can’t possibly be our Luna!”

Emma’s eyes widened further and hurt pierced through her skin like hot blades.

She was about to retort at the maid, to firmly assert her identity when the maid’s words silenced her: “If you’re done here, have it in mind that you have a lot of work to do!”

The maid’s coldness ignited Emma’s frustration, and she desperately blurted out, “I’m not just an Omega. I’m Leo’s mate and Luna of Silver Moon pack!”

The maid busted into laughter once more, and this time it was mixed with derision.

“Oh please, spare us the fantasy, my dear. If you must know a Luna is supposed to be strong, and powerful. You’re clearly not what we expected.”

“What?” Emma’s anger flared, her heart pounding with resentment. “The alpha must hear about this, and trust me when I say you would be punished!”

Emma threatened to report the maid’s insolence to Leo, she believed the maid would come to her right sense and apologize to her.

However, Emma was shocked with the maid’s response which was unexpected and rude.

“Oh really?! I beg you to go ahead and complain! See if it changes anything.” The maid chuckled evilly.

What's happening? Emma thought in disbelief, she was confused and at the same time frustrated.

“Rubbish! Start working now!” The maid shouted, she pushed Emma before she turned and leave.

Emma felt a rush of emotions. She wanted to demand respect, to prove her worth, but the words were caught in her throat as she breathed heavily.

“I… I can't take this anymore,” Emma’s heart raced as turned and she stormed out of the kitchen.

She was determined to find find Leo. She knew she had to inform him about the rude encounter with the maid.

Her steps were hastened as she barraged through the halls of the pack mansion. She didn’t know the layout well, but she pushed forward, her instincts guiding her.

As Emma rounded a corner, she immediately spotted the guards stationed outside a door.

A sense of relief washed over her, she knew she finally found Leo’s room.

Stepping forward, she was surprised when the guards made no move to stop her. Maybe they recognized her as his guest or Mate, she thought.

However, her intent to knock on the door was halted by a sound that made her freeze in place: moans mixed with groans.

The unmistakable sound of intimate activity reached her ears, and it caused her heart to sank.

The realization hit her like a blow. Leo was not alone, and the person he was with was definitely not her!

Emma felt betrayed, her eye burned with tears as she immediately barged into the room.

“Leo!” She cried out, tears flooding her eyes like a river and her heart dropped to the floor.

But to Emma’s shock, Leo was indifferent about her sudden appearance.
