“I DON’T WANT any trouble with the Queen,” was the first thing I said when the Alpha King entered my bedroom.
Upon hearing my words, the King threw his head back as if he was tired of everything. He rubbed the spot between his eyes before he took off his King’s robe, laying it down at the back of the chair. He didn’t approach me though. He just stood there by the chair, looking at me with his jaw pulled taut.
“Can we not talk about that right now?”
“I only want you to know that I wish no trouble with the Queen. I don’t want her to see me as a threat, or worse, the villain in her story. Truly, I know that I am not on the same level as her. She is so much more powerful than me. She has a family and she has her title. I wish no problem with that kind of person.”
