CHAPTER 8 -HER- I was bloodied, bruised, and in pain while I walked out of my dad’s office. My determination to live faltered as I climbed upstairs. I was blinking back all my tears back till then, refusing to submit to the harsh reality. I swallowed my sobs of pain and despair. I didn’t want them to come out just yet. I wanted them to fuel my resentment that I’d stored for my family and pack. I wanted them to come out of me, bursting and setting fire to everything when the time would come. For now, I dragged my body into my bedroom and climbed back into my bed before soon passing out due to exhaustion. I let my tears out only under the blankets where no one would bother to look.
