LAUREN'S POV
-----
I was exhausted but I was even delighted. I missed my family for so long, that seeing them brought me happiness. This time, I was here for a reason and a very important task.
I just hoped it was successful.
I was a lot nervous meeting everybody back at home. I wanted nothing more than the acceptance of my family. It wasn’t like my family was very traditional but I was scared to break it out.
I did have a fair share in boys and relationships, unlike Leah who never had a boyfriend in her life.
I was like a wild bird wanting to explore while Leah was like the little snail that stayed in the shell.
Even though different, we were a lot alike, too. I was most scared to break the news to Leah because she'd be the most upset of all.
She had taken a promise from that I'd share everything that happened but I didn't tell her yet.
I had planned to tell her tonight, before everyone so she could help me break it to the family.
I and Mom spent a good amount of time together. Dad was a bit sick, but he was still at the office. I'd see to it that he took care of himself. Mom was really happy, though.
I couldn't have been here without Luke's assistance. Also, I couldn't have surprised Leah. But, they both always start bickering, it was their usual self. I gave them the first-aid and exited the room and walked to mine to make a call.
"Hello, baby!" He picked up my call on the very first attempt. Hearing his voice still made me feel like butterflies. I wonder if it would ever change.
"Sean!" I called his name. I missed him so much even though I had talked to him just yesterday. I looked outside the window, at the beautiful night.
"Ren, how are you? The weather had been so bad that I was worried and you didn’t even call back again." I could sense the worry in his voice. I smiled.
"I'm so sorry. The reception was so bad. I didn't have much battery and the power was off. I barely called Luke and then my battery was low after I found the jet." I explained to him.
"I understand. I'm glad you're home and safe. I wish I could've come with you. I would've taken care of you." He stated and I felt a blush creeping up on my cheeks.
"You have to take care of me...forever, now," I said and I glanced at my finger where a diamond ring resided, which was kept in hiding now.
"Yeah, I'm so excited." He sounded happy and I flushed. I was excited, too, but I was trying to be brave.
"Sean!" I couldn't stop my big smile and my eyes filled with tears. I couldn't control it anymore. Small tears strolled down my face and I sniffled.
"Ren, are you crying? Please, baby, don't cry." He tried to soothe me. I nodded and smiled even though he wasn't present here.
"I'm fine. I just miss you so much." I wiped away my tears and looked outside the window into the calm night.
"The night feels so lonely without you. I miss you, too. I'll come soon." He let out and I nodded.
"Once, I confess everything about us to Mom and Dad, you arrive here to visit," I advised him and he hummed.
"I love you, Lauren." He said and I felt butterflies in my stomach.
"I love you, too, Sean," I said and I heard a loud screech, almost ear-piercing.
"Sean!" I heard another voice. It was Cheryl and I almost felt like I wanted to kill something.
Sean was talking to her and I heard his murmurs and I waited.
I decided to go and check on Luke and Leah if they wanted something else.
When I saw them bickering again, I yelled at them and exited the room, again walking towards my room.
Once I reached my room, I removed the boxes I had prepared for them. I was just hoping that they would like the gifts I had prepared for them.
"Lauren...Don't get mad. She just came by." He explained himself when he didn't need to. I knew how Cheryl was; he didn't have to explain.
"I know, Sean. It's okay. You don't have to worry about it. Just calm down." I told him and laughed.
"Yeah." He said in a small voice. I chuckled imagining his confused face. He was a goofball under his big and firm body and all that, only for me. I blushed as I remembered a few dirty times.
"They would appreciate the gifts? Sean said, confidently and my eyes widened in shock.
"Wait...how did you know that I was...thinking about that?" I questioned him and he chuckled. His beautiful voice made my heart flutter.
"I know everything, baby." He prided and blushed.
"You do know everything, hon." I purred in a teasing tone and he groaned.
"Did you purposely play such a dirty trick on me?" He questioned but instead of angry he sounded amused.
"What do you think? Huh? You should miss me more than I do." I warned him and he laughed.
"As if you don't understand how much I'm already missing you." He said in a small voice and I felt my heart melt at his words. I didn't want to spend the entire night talking to him because then Leah will be upset.
Since I was back home, I should spend some time with her.
"Okay...go now! I have to go and talk to Leah, or she'll be pretty pissed." I laughed and shooed him off or I could talk to him for the whole night.
"Yeah, go, and enjoy. Sleep early and take care. Bye, baby." He encouraged me.
"Yeah, talk to you later. Bye." I muttered to him and finally hung up the call. I held the phone close to my heart as I felt the flutter even after ending the call.
