SAVAGE AFFAIRS EPISODE FIVE

Eva left after being called by one of her random guys and so I was home alone for the better part of that evening. Weekends were the most boring days of my life and most of the time I stayed indoors if I was not visiting relatives. I walked to my room got a box where i put some of my collections of memories and went back to the living room, covered my feet with a blanket, and went through some of the photos I took with my parents when they were still around, see my parents died in a terrible road accident when I was in my final year at the University. Mum died on the spot as dad slipped in a comma for a week or so before he died too. Our house was sold and the money was used to settle his medication bills and funeral expenses. His car was a total wreck and what was left of it was just metal....

After my parents death, no relatives were there like when my parents were alive. No one cared to know how I was doing or where I was living after our house got sold. On my graduation no one showed up. I was called up there to take my certificate but I looked around and not a familiar face, the only person I saw was Eva who had been a source of strength through out that dark period in my life. After my graduation she took me to town bought me chips and chicken and that was pretty much it for my celebration. By then we both had no money, Eva was hustling from one salon to the other making peoples hair and doing odd jobs to make ends meet while i was just fresh out of school with nothing but my clothes. I stayed with Eva for a while before I got a job at a restaurant in town and saved enough to rent out a place of my own since i couldn't cope with Eva's life style.

As I was going through the photos I heard a knock on the door so i got off the couch and opened it. I wasn't surprised to see Eddy standing there with a box of pizza and a two litre coke and some bottle of whiskey as well..i knew Eddy was going to be trouble but it didn't feel entirely bad seeing

him..

Eddy: hey?

He had this charming smile on his face and even if I wanted to bang the door on his face, I couldn't.

Me: hey.

Eddy: is it a bad time?

He asked noticing how wet my eyes were from the tears. Thinking about my parents and remembering my dad on his death bed stirred some emotions in me. I shook my head and opened the door and allowed him in.

He noticed the photos on the couch so he put his stuff on the table and took the photos in his hands taking a look at them as I stood there watching him.

Eddy: your parents?

He asked turning and looking at me so I nodded and walked to where he was, took the little box off the seat and sat. He did too. I took the photos from him and put them back in the box then put them away.

Eddy: why were you crying?

Me: it's nothing serious.

Eddy: you can talk to me

Me: I got a number from Eva's phone. Someone called but after answering whoever it was did not say a word.

I responded totally ignoring his question.

Eddy: I meant you can talk to me about why you were crying but since you are not in the mood, I can have the number and try it out.

I got up went to my room and got the book I had written the number and handed it to him..

He dialed the number in his phone but this time the call went through but It went unanswered.

Eddy: do you think it could be venessa?

Me: who else would call and not say a word?

Eddy: i will look into it. You care for some pizza?

I nodded so he took a piece and handed it to me and I took a bite as I went to get glasses for the whiskey and coke from the kitchen..

Sean and Niki finished up eating and catching up so Niki walked Sean to the door and hugged him goodbye but just before he could get in his car, he spotted Judith who was seated by the verandah alone and it seemed like she was in deep thoughts that she never even realize Sean walk upto her until he held her shoulder and she looked up.

Judith: oh, Sean...do you need something?

Sean sat next to her and looked at her briefly rolling the car keys in his hands.

Sean: I don't need anything. I'm just worried about you. Are you okay?

Judith: yes.

She faked a smile and he was aware that she was pretending. He knew her so well.

Sean: that's a lie. You look sad, is it because of how Eddy talked to you?

Judith: I'm used to him. Eddy doesn't like me so much but I can live with that. You don't look happy yourself, is something bothering you?

Sean: business. There's so much that I'm trying to do but things are just so slow. Can I ask you something?

Judith: yes.

Sean: do you think I'm being a bad son but choosing not to support mum?

Judith: do you have a good reason for it?

Sean: I just don't want to associate myself with her campaigns and governorship. I saw what politics did to dad and I don't want her to end up like that.

Judith: you are not a bad son and you have all the rights to feel how you are feeling. Life is about taking risks and living by the consequences of our decisions. It's okay if you don't want to be involved but don't stop her from achieving what she wants.

Sean nodded then looked at her again.

Sean: you have never talked about your children, do you have any?

Judith: yeah daughter who died at just a month after birth and a son but we don't really get along. He left home when he was 25 and ever since he has not come back. I only know he is okay because of his updates on phone but we barely meet.

Sean: that's sad. You are the best mum anyone could ask for.

Judith: just that he has never seen anything good in me but I'm glad you are here, it really feels good to know someone is concerned about me. You make me believe that one day he will come around..

Sean: he will. We all somehow do..

Venessa waited up for Dru but he never showed up. Robert couldn't stop shouting in pain so she googled how to take care of a bullet wound and got a few painkillers and everything she needed from the supermarket and got back to the house at around 8:30pm..

She opened the door to Robert's room and when he saw her he sat up and watched her set everything on the floor before she started her not so "doctorly" operation.

Robert did not say a word the entire time as he couldn't even figure out why venessa had decided to help. She sanitized the wound before digging her hand in it tracing the bullet with her finger and because the entire process was painful Robert couldn't stop shouting and venessa did not stop until she got the bullet out.

She cleaned the wound again before tying the leg with a gauze bandage. She then helped him to the bed, gave him some painkillers and when she was done she walked out without speaking to him and locked the door with the key..

Mike drove to some place parked his car and checked around before going in some house where he headed straight to the study room where he met with a man who wore a cap, dark shades and a hoodie and also sat near a very deam light that could not reveal his identify.

Voice: it's about time you showed up.

Mike: I got held up.

Voice: I hope no one followed you here.

Mike: I'm being careful.

Voice: what do we have?

Mike: Eddy suspects there is a mole in the team. I hope we will be done before he figures out am part if his problem.

Voice: leave that to me. By the time I'm done with him, he will not have a face or a name.what do you know about the IT guy?

Mike: not much but I know he will deliver...what happened to the merchandise you took earlier the guys roughed up Dan and Dru. Do you have anything to do with Roberts arrest?

Voice: no. I'm only interested in Eddy so watch him closely and report all his moves to me until I decide otherwise.

Me: so how did you know Eddy was going to ask for an IT guy and what do you intend to do with him?

Voice: I have my own sources and as for what my intentions are, you will know when I say it's time. You may take your leave Mike....

Venessa called Dru again and when she couldn't reach him she decide to call Eva instead and when Eva didn't pick, she texted her telling her she was venessa and asked her to call her back. When Eva saw the message she called back immediately and venessa received.

Eva: this was your number?

Venessa: yes I called and someone else picked so I couldn't really talk

Eva: it was Rayna. She has been actually asking about you. She wanted to thank you for inviting her over for your party.

Venessa: no hard feelings. Can I ask you something?

Eva: sure girl go ahead.

Venessa: how do you know that someone is not into you anymore?

Eva: mostly they stop having time for you and find interest in other stuff. Wait, are you having problems with Robert?

Venessa: no girl I'm just asking. You know men can get busy at times and the woman in us just read something else into it.

Eva: is he treating you right?

Venessa: yes, Robert sure do know how to spoil me girl. I'm having the time of my life, right now he is taking a shower then he will massage me. Girl, you need to find you a millionaire.

She lied obviously wanting to paint a perfect picture and she didn't even tell Eva about Dru

Eva: I will when the time comes but I'm happy for you girl. I'm glad you called..

Eddy and I talked for a while before he left. As curious as I was about his life, i tried to find out why an mp's son would be living such a life, he was into crime, he walked around with guns, he didn't seem happy but he was really careful while talking to me. There were stuff he didn't want to open up about especially stuff about his mother and her vying for the governorship.

The following day I got a call from Eva telling me she had spoken to venessa and the number we were worried about was hers. She told me venessa was okay and there was no need to worry. We talked for a while then ended the call as I also has an incoming call from a strange number and when I picked it the caller told me he was Sean.

Me: oh hi, I've been expecting your call.

Sean: okay, so can we meet up say around 2:00pm in some restaurant in town?

Me: that's okay. Just text me the name of the restaurant and i will be there.

He did text as we were still talking then after confirming he ended the call as well.

This was one of the meetings I was looking forward to because for some reason, I was curious. What would he want from me after obviously failing the interview at his company and why wasn't the meeting be was requesting for at his meeting.

I smiled fo myself and could not help but imagine what it would be like to meet him again and this time round, no heels were going to be broken off..

Eddy's team checked in for a meeting as Mike's IT guy waited outside to meet up with Eddy after their meeting. As usual no one looked like a suspect but that did not stop Eddy from saying whatever he wanted to say and issue instructions as well.

Eddy: Johansen's guys are getting impatient and we don't have much time. There is a posiblility that they attacked Dru and Dan yesterday to send us a message.

Dru: are you sure about that, Johansen knows stealing from us and selling our stuff is waging war. He wouldn't do that with himself still locked up and in our custody.

Leo: he did not say he was sure. The guys could have panicked not knowing what to do about their bosses situation. They are looking for options just like we are.

Mike: by waging war?

Dan: I don't think it was Johansen's guys. In normal circumstances they would have taken us both plus the drugs and traded us for their boss.

Eddy: that's true Dan but it's not everytime that trade works. We need to find out who those guys were and I've got some info about Johansen's crew and their hide out. First of all we can't just go killing them. Johansen confirmed that several of his guys have flash disks with them that contain information that can hurt our boss and bring him down completely maybe even get him and us behind bars. Before we go killing anyone, we search them and retrieve the disks first.

Dru: when are we doing this?

Eddy: tonight. We attack tonight, get the disks then kill onjijo.

Dru: you mention giving us an address, do we report here or meet up there?

Eddy: meet at wabala junction at 8:30pm. Is there a question?

Everyone was silent and so the meeting was adjourned with everyone taking their leave though Eddy asked Leo to stay back as he also requested mike to invite the IT guy in.

Leo: do we have any progress on finding the boss?

Eddy: not yet but I think we might have something after we talk to the IT guy.

The IT guy walked in with a bag and had a seat after Eddy requested him too.

Eddy: you must be matasi.

Matasi: yes sir.

Eddy: call me Eddy and this is Leo. Did Mike tell you why you are here?

Matasi: yes, he mentioned a few reasons why you invited me over.

Eddy: how well do you know Mike?

Matasi: I don't know him that well, apart from yesterday when he came to see me regarding this issue, i have never seen him before.

Eddy: good. For your first job I would like you to hack into one if the communication systems and trace someone for us. There are two options.

One guy can trace this number and tell us where the owner is or you can trace this other one, pull the call log and see if you can make anything out of it.

He said giving both Roberts and venessa's phone number. Matasi put his laptop on the table and started working right there as Eddy and Leo watched.

Venessa went to see Robert again to take his breakfast and some killer and she found him still asleep so she got in put the breakfast on a small table and woke him up. He opened his eyes looked at her and turned the other way..

Venessa: you should atleast say thank you for treating your wound.

Robert: why did you do it, because you are guilty?

Venessa: not really. I did it because I still have some human like traits in me.

Robert: please get me out of here.

Venessa: not before Dru gets what he wants.

Robert: and what does he want?

Venessa was silent.

Robert: you claim to be in love with him but where is he now, where was he last night when you cried yourself to sleep or you think i didn't hear that?

She still didn't say a word.

Robert: look i know you are smart and whatever this is, we can settle it. I'm not even mad at you anymore because I know you could have been pressured in doing this. Let me go and your life will be spared as I put a bullet in Dru's head.

Venessa: you will do no such thing. If I were you, i would have that breakfast before it gets cold.

She got up and walked out.

Matasi: I think we can work with the first option. The number has been traced to an estate that is about 20 minutes to this place. I can pin the exact location because there is something like a signal jammer. Come take a look.

Leo and I got behind him and he showed us a blue line running from one point to the other.

Matasi: this is where we are and this is where whoever you are looking for is.

Leo: can you tell the name of the estate?

Matasi: yes, let me zoom in.

He did and they got the location of where venessa and their boss was.

Leo: why was it hard to use the other option?

Matasi: call logs wouldn't help much, it would take you round as you would want to find the person he spoke to last who might not even be aware of where he is.

Eddy: okay. We hope you know this information can not leave this room. The situation is delicate and should anyone else find out what we know, we might not reach the guy we are looking for.

Matasi: very much understood sir.

Eddy: so how much do you get paid for such job?

Matasi: 15k sir, it's a sure job.

Eddy: will wire that money into your account. Please write down your bank details...

He did and handed it to Eddy before he left.

Leo: finding an IT guy was a good move. Should we go to the boss's rescue?

Eddy: yes. We need to go there as discreet as possible, we will camp outside those houses until we see venessa since we couldn't get the exact house.

Leo: a signal jammer, wow that lady is smart. So do we tell the rest?

Eddy: no, remember we have a mole working for Johansen amongst us. I preffer we keep the mission to ourself.

Leo: but you already told them about the flash disks. Haven't you put your life in danger because definitely they will be curious to find out the information that is in the disks.

Eddy: once you sigh up for such a life, you have to be prepared for the outcome. Have you thought that maybe there is no flashdisk?

Leo: why would you think that?

Eddy: look at it this way, if you had a gun to your head, you would say anything to keep your enemy from pulling that trigger. Johansen could have captured our boss but there is no truth to anything about the flash disks.

Leo: but how would he know about your deeds?

Eddy: takes us back to the mole. Everyone knows about the missions we go on whether they are apart of it or not. Maybe that's how he found out about me taking out the minister.

Leo: you have a point. Let me get some bullet's for my gun, meet me in the car in a few minutes..

As Leo went to get the bullets, Eddy got into room where they had kept Johansen and walked up to him and stood there staring with both hands in the pocket.

Johansen: have you realized that holding me in here was a mistake and you have reconsidered?

Eddy: no, on the contrary, I've come to let you know that after today, you might not have a team to go back to. We are wiping everyone out.

Johansen: you forget I'm holding something against you.

Eddy: I don't care. I dare you to get that video uploaded and after that I will hunt down everyone in your linage and kill them brutally before I surrender myself to the police. I'm daring you so give it your best shot because you might never get to see tomorrow..

He walked out locked the door and issued strict warning for the guy who was guarding that door not to let anyone in under any circumstances before he left to join Leo in the car.

Leo: lets go get our boss.....

Eddy started the car and he drove off...
