1871 Words
Dylan sighed out in relief after Remy and Rex left the private ward, and he walked up to meet Jessica. Though he knew that he had told Jessica that he would divorce her, He remember the sad look on Caleb's face when he saw him arrive at their school and also heard that their mother was in the hospital. Dylan sighed and asked Jessica, “How are you feeling now?” “I'm fine. How about our kids? Have they closed from school?” Jessica asked. “Yes, I went to bring them home before coming here, but I already brought Florence back as the house is too dirty. I couldn't leave Caleb and Nina all alone at home,” Dylan replied, finally staring back at Jessica's face. Dylan could see that Jessica looked a bit unwell, and he asked her, “How are you feeling now?” “I'm fine, like I said,” Jessica stared away. Dylan asked, “Have you eaten since morning?” “Yes.” Jessica nodded her head. She looked back at Dylan and asked him, “What did the doctors say?” Dylan sighed, "Hmm. We will discuss that at home. Let me first know if you're free to go home today with me.” As Dylan wanted to walk away from the private ward, Jessica asked him, “How about the divorce papers?” Dylan looked back at Jessica's face and asked her, “Are you ready to sign it now?" Jessica shook her head and sobbed, as she couldn't believe that Dylan still wanted to divorce her. She didn't respond, and Dylan finally left the private ward. Dylan went to see the doctor in charge of Jessica's case, and the male doctor smiled as Dylan walked into his office. Dylan asked the doctor, “Doctor, How's my wife doing? Can she go home today?” "No, Mr. Robinson, Your wife has to be on admission for three days. Then later, she can go back home with you. I think on Saturday,” said the doctor. Dylan frowned as he heard the doctor's words. He couldn't protest, and he left the doctor's office to see Jessica again, as he wanted to leave for home. Dylan walked into Jessica's private ward, and Jessica looked up at his face to see what the doctor said, as she didn't also know what went wrong with her. “What did the doctor say, Dylan?” Jessica asked as Dylan walked into her private ward. “The doctor said you ain't going home today until Saturday, so I have to go home to be with the kids.” “How about the reason I fainted? You haven't told me yet what is wrong with me.” Jessica asked, and Dylan replied, “The doctor said that you're pregnant, Jessica. But for who? I cannot remember the last time that I slept with you.” Jessica's jaw dropped, and she looked at Dylan's face in shock as he told her that she was pregnant, but what shocked her the most was that he was asking her who she got pregnant for. Jessica laughed out first, after she calmed down, and informed Dylan whom was glaring at her. “You are unbelievable, Dylan, How can you be asking me such a ridiculous question? Who can I be pregnant by, if not you?” Jessica threw the question back at Dylan, and he frowned and stared away. Dylan turned to leave the private ward and paused at the exit door, as only Jessica was admitted to the private ward. Dylan said, “I am not the one that got you pregnant, Jessica. So later, we will discuss who got you pregnant, but I am going home now.” Jessica didn't say anything in response to what Dylan said. She only kept silent and watched him walk away. Jessica sat on the hospital bed, thinking about what she ever did wrong to Dylan that made him change overnight. “Dylan wasn't like this before,” Jessica murmured as she thought of what she did wrong to Dylan. “Maybe I should call his parents, but what do I tell them?” Jessica wondered as she fought the urge to sob again. Soon, a nurse walked into the ward to attend to Jessica, and she was served another meal. Jessica was quiet throughout, as she wasn't with her phone. She was a little at peace to know that Florence was in her home and not like her kids were alone. ---- Dylan left the hospital and went back home in his car. As soon as he arrived home, he got a call from Rosie again, and Rosie asked him, "Hello, babe, Ain't you coming to see me today?” "No, Rosie, I cannot. How are you and my baby doing?” Dylan replied, and Rosie answered, “Good.” “Okay, I just arrived home now from the hospital where I went to see Jessica. I am exhausted, so we talk later,” Dylan said. "Okay, babe, I know that you're stressed, but have you told Jessica that you have me now? And I am pregnant for now.” Rosie asked again, but Dylan replied, "No, Rosie... I cannot tell Jessica that now.” "So, when do you intend to tell Jessica?” Rosie asked impatiently, as she wanted to move into Dylan's house quickly and to completely have full access to him. Dylan sighed as he locked up his car door, and he turned and stared back at the mansion frontage. He said, “When Jessica comes home, we cannot discuss this in the hospital, and you know that she's unwell. What if something wrong goes on with her again, coupled with the fact that she's pregnant?" “But the pregnancy isn't for you, Dylan,” Rosie nervously said, as she knew that she was the one who wasn't pregnant for Dylan. “I know, Rosie; I will talk to you later. I am tired for now, but not to worry when Jessica comes home by Saturday. I will tell her about you,” Dylan said, and Rosie didn't want to counter him. Rosie finally responded, “Okay, Dy, Take care and know that I love you very much.” Dylan replied, “I love you too, Rosie; bye.” The phone call with Rosie finally ended, and Dylan walked into the house, while Florence had already helped Caleb and Nina take their bath and put on their new clothes. They were in the living room and watching television when Dylan walked inside. Florence stood up and greeted him, “Good evening, sir.” Caleb and Nina also greeted him too, while Nina only stood up from the couch, and she walked up to meet Dylan and hugged his legs. Dylan could see that his two kids looked unhappy, and he asked Florence, “Have they eaten?” Florence replied, "Yes, sir.” Dylan carried Nina up in his arms, and Nina asked him sadly, “Daddy, where is Mummy?” Dylan smiled sadly and told Nina, “Mummy is fine, okay. She will come home on Saturday. Not to worry, we will go to see your mom tomorrow, okay?.” "Okay." Nina nodded her little head and rested her head on Dylan's shoulder, and Dylan sighed and walked back to the couch with Nina. Dylan even forgot to buy Nina and Caleb ice cream or popcorn at the roadside shops when he was returning home. He carefully put Nina back on the couch, and he told Nina, “I am coming okay. Let me go upstairs and freshen up.” Nina didn't protest, as she looked sad and was also unhappy to return home from school and not see her mother at home. Dylan looked at Caleb, who had a sad look on his face too, and he thought against his decision to divorce Jessica. Dylan finally went upstairs to his bedroom to rest and change his clothes. **** The following day, Dylan woke up in his room, walked up to his room mirror, and stared at his face. The bruise had reduced, but it was still visible a little. Dylan walked into his bathroom and bath, and he walked out and wore his black suit and shoes. He knew that his company had a launch show on Saturday, and he was supposed to attend the event with Jessica. But Jessica wasn't at home. Dylan thought about asking Rosie to accompany him to the event; Rosie is pregnant for him, and he would soon marry Rosie. Dylan finished applying his perfumes, and he stared at his reflection once again on his bedroom wall mirror. He sighed and finally went to his briefcase and carried it, as he still wanted to get to his office. Staring at his room wall clock time, Dylan saw it was 7:45 am, and he finally carried his briefcase and went downstairs. Florence had already prepared Caleb and Nina for school, and there was no driver to take Caleb and Nina to school. Florence stood in the dining room, wondering if she could go upstairs to Dylan's room and inform him about Caleb and Nina going to school. Florence saw that the mansion had changed, and there was no gardener, no driver, no assistant cook, and no domestic staff in the house except the gateman. However, Florence was wearing a blue top and a black straight skirt with her black slippers. She sees Dylan alighting the living room stairs and immediately greets him, "Good morning, sir.” Dylan was already set to leave the office, as he saw that his kids were already ready to leave for school. He had completely forgotten about his two kids going to school again, as the day was Friday. Dylan looked at Florence and responded, “Morning, Are they ready to go to school now?” "Yes, sir, but there's no driver to take them to school." Florence nervously replied, and Dylan said, ''That's fine. The driver isn't here, so I will be the one taking them to school.'' "Okay, sir,” Florence replied, and she went back and assisted Nina in alighting the dining chair. Florence took both Nina and Caleb outside the mansion, and they waited for Dylan to drive his car out to the front of the mansion. Dylan got into his car, and Caleb and Nina both sat in the back seat of the car silently. After Florence hooked their seat belt and shut the car door,. She waved goodbye to Nina and Caleb and stood aside while the security man opened the gate for Dylan to drive out. Dylan drove to his children's school first, so they wouldn't be late, and he had to step down from his car and escort both Caleb and Nina to their classes. He couldn't believe that was what Jessica had to do all day. Monday to Friday, and he had to dash Nina's teacher money to look after Nina and to buy her sweets and ice cream during Nina's lunch break. Dylan finally went to his car, and he immediately called his assistant to get a new car driver back.
