Chapter 20. Rushed Downstairs

1743 Words
Jessica immediately rushed downstairs to confront Dylan and the strange yellow woman that he had brought into their mansion. She didn't want to know who the yellow lady was, but after dreaming about Dylan bringing a strange woman into their marital home, Jessica feared that her dream had come to pass. Dylan walked into the living room with Rosie, and she was nervous walking into another woman's matrimonial home. Rosie gasped at the level of luxury in the living room, but her eyes fell on the two cute children on the living room couch and the young lady in the sitting room too. Florence was shocked to see Dylan arrive home with another lady, and Dylan was even holding the lady's hand closely with care, like she was his wife. Florence stood up immediately from the couch where she sat and greeted Dylan, "Good evening, sir.” "Evening, Can't you greet her too?'” Dylan questions Florence as he sees Jessica walking downstairs and into the living room. Jessica paused, and her eyes fell on Rosie irritably, who stared away from her, and on Dylan, as they both stood together like lovers and held hands too. “Good evening, ma.” Florence nervously greeted Rosie, and Rosie blinked and stared back at Florence before she responded, "Evening.” Caleb and Nina were also in the living room and awake. They stepped down from the couch and happily walked up to welcome their daddy first, hugging Dylan to his legs, and they stood aside, not knowing who Rosie was. “Florence, take Caleb and Nina to their rooms first and stay there with them,” Jessica finally said to Florence, as she hadn't greeted Dylan yet. “Okay, ma,” Florence replied, and she immediately took Caleb and Nina away to their separate bedrooms downstairs in the luxury mansion. “Babe, I am tired of standing. Can I sit down?” Rosie asked Dylan, as she was still standing so closely with Dylan and not minding Jessica's presence with them. “Sure, you can sit down,” Dylan replied to Rosie, while Jessica was still silent and staring at them as she waited for Dylan to introduce the short yellow woman to her. Dylan was nervous, as he had never returned home and felt so nervous standing in front of Jessica before. He cleared his throat and finally spoke, "Jessica... Here's my new wife, Rosie Andrew.” Jessica hadn't reacted yet. She stood speechless and stared from Rosie to Dylan, and she finally spoke, “How shameless of you, Dylan, to bring your w***e into our home? So it's true that you went to the launch ceremony with this thing?" Jessica gazed at Rosie up-and-down irritably. Dylan replied, “That's enough, Jessica. I have asked you to sign the divorce papers and leave for your family house, but you refused. Rosie, here, is pregnant for me, and she's carrying my baby too, which is why I finally brought her here to live with us.” “Ah!” Jessica gasped out in shock. She walks up to meet Dylan and lands him a hot slap, not minding Rosie sitting on the living room couch with them. Rosie was shocked, as she hadn't expected Jessica to slap Dylan, and Jessica spat, “You disgust me, Dylan! After all, I did it for you, and you dare to embarrass me this way?” Dylan was silent, as he hadn't expected the slap from Jessica. Jessica stared at Rosie irritably with burning eyes, and she spat, “And you! Before, I should blink my eyes and open them back. Take your filthy self and get out of my house before I descend on you. Now!.* “Jessica, Jessica! That's enough! Rosie is not going anywhere. Didn't you hear that she's pregnant for me?” Dylan questions out. Jessica looked from Rosie to Dylan. She ignored responding to Dylan and walked up to meet Rosie. In a single flash, she pulled Rosie up from the couch and pushed Rosie away. “Get out of my house, you prostitute! Get out!” Jessica started fighting with Rosie. She assumed that probably Dylan had considered her to be a weak woman because she was always calm and loved him, condoning his excesses. But she cannot sit back and watch Dylan bring another woman into their home, whom Dylan told her was already pregnant. “Get out!” Jessica continues to drag Rosie outside to the front, and she throws Rosie outside the house and shuts the door. She turned backward to face Dylan, who was angry at her. “Jessica! What has come over you?? I have told you that this marriage is completely over between us,” Dylan said, as he was so angry. He had never raised his hand to his wife before, and he couldn't do that either. “You cannot bring that woman into this house in the presence of our kids. No way, Dylan! You can continue to sleep with her outside this house; I don't care, but not in my home. This is my home and not hers,” Jessica barked, and Dylan was still angry as he silently glared at Jessica while Rosie was standing outside in the frontage of the duplex mansion. “Leave the door now, or else you won't like my action,” Dylan warned as he looked at Jessica angrily. “Or what? What do you intend to do, Dylan? Beat me, because of a prostitute?” Jessica questioned as she could see the anger written in Dylan's eyes. “Leave now!” Dylan pushed Jessica aside from the door, and he opened the door and went outside. Jessica was shocked that Dylan pushed her aside because of the short yellow lady that he had brought into their home. And she stood aside and stared outside at them. Rosie had already alighted the frontage stairs, and she pretended like she was already leaving the house and walking away, as she was no match to wrestle with Jessica. “Rosie… Babe.” Dylan rushed up to meet Rosie, and he stopped her from leaving his house. “I am so sorry about what happened in there. You cannot leave. Come, let's go inside,” Dylan said. “No Dy. Your ex-wife dares to push me out. I told you to divorce her before bringing me here, but you refused. I cannot go in there with you, except Jessica leaves,” Rosie said, and Dylan sighed heavily. He knew that he could not send Jessica away without properly divorcing her first. He pulled Rosie into a hug and petted her. "It is okay; I will get the divorce papers ready. You know it is because Jessica was sick, so I couldn't divorce her in that condition, but she will leave now.” Rosie smiled satisfactorily at Dylan's words, and she responded, “Okay.” Jessica was heartbroken as she stood at the door entrance and stared at Dylan and Rosie hugging each other. Dylan even raised Rosie's chin upward and kissed Rosie in her presence. “No, this cannot be happening.” Jessica broke down into sobs, and she thought against locking the entrance door as she went back upstairs to the master bedroom. Jessica paced about as she thought of what to do. “Where did I go wrong with Dylan? I did all I could to satisfy him and yet, he still went out to cheat on me" Jessica cried as she walked to the bed to sit. She couldn't believe that her nightmare had turned into her reality. She knew that Caleb and Nina hadn't eaten anything yet, So she exited the master bedroom and went downstairs. Jessica saw that Dylan had brought Rosie back into their living room. She looked at the short lady in a blue gown, but she didn't say a word to them. “DY Baby, I am hungry,” Rosie said, but Jessica didn't stop as she went away to her children's room. The duplex mansion is enormous, and Jessica arrived at Caleb and Nina's sitting room and saw them watching television there with Florence. “Mummy, I am hungry,” Caleb said, and Nina also nodded her head in hunger. Jessica didn't want her kids to see their father shamelessly bring another woman home and even romance the woman in her presence. She felt disrespected, but she smiled at Caleb and said, "Wait here. Let me get something for you and Nina to eat, okay? I am coming.” “Okay Mom” Caleb didn't protest since he saw his mother smile at him, and he waited patiently for Jessica to return with their dinner. Jessica walked out of her children's room door and blinked the teardrop away from her eyes. She turned and walked away to the living room, and she went to the kitchen. Florence had earlier prepared their dinner, but they hadn't eaten. Jessica stood beside the kitchen cabinet and opened the pot of jollof rice. She dished out enough portions for herself and her kids to eat while she thought about how to deal with Dylan and his new acclaimed wife. Dylan walked into the kitchen, expecting to see Florence, and he saw Jessica standing there and dishing out food from the big pot. The aroma of the food awakened Dylan's hunger, but he quickly asked Jessica, “Where's Florence?” Jessica finished serving out enough portions of the food into the big food flask, covered it, and turned to face Dylan. She didn't respond to him as she walked away from the kitchen and carried the food flask away with some plates to her children's room. When Jessica got to the corridor that led to her children's room, she locked the door and went to the sitting room to be with her kids. She served out their dinner and told her kids, "Daddy has a guest, so we will be staying here to eat our dinners, okay?” "Okay, Mummy,” Caleb and Nina both replied happily, and they accepted their plate of meal and ate silently. Jessica also brought an extra plate for herself and Florence. She dished out Florence's meal, and Florence was no kid not to know what was going on. But she remained silent and accepted to eat her food in the sitting room while the cartoon channel continued to display on television.
