CHAPTER 5

1204 Words
Five. Sunny’s POV Days have passed and yet my blood is still boiling every time I remember my encounter with that ass*ole. He is indeed getting on my nerves. I've always been a calm person, but ever since our paths crossed, I can’t damn contain my annoyance. How the hell did he make me feel this way? Ugh! I really can't stand him at all. "Hey! You’re idling again!" Jill snapped out in front of me, and that made me frown. "Is there something that you want to tell me?" she asked, her eyebrows arched. I just shrugged my head, but it seems like she's not convinced at all. I still haven’t told her about the things that have happened to me lately, especially that ass*ole Herosa. Ugh! Thinking about him is making me fuming mad. I want to kick his ass! So annoying! "You’re spacing out again! Come on, girl, just spill it out," she stated in an annoyed tone as she rolled her eyes at me. I just took a deep breath. She’s already stressed about her own issues in life, and I don’t want to give her my own issues too. I can still manage it, so I’d rather keep it for now. I don't want her to carry my burden too. "You don’t need to worry about me, it’s just that I’m so damn tired lately,” I lied as I fake a smile. She stared at me as if she’s damn questioning me right now. However, I was able to breathe lightly when she only shrugged her head. I don’t know if I was able to trick her or what, but I know her... she’s only waiting for me to tell her what's actually bugging me. I will tell her soon, but not now. This isn't a big deal at all... and for sure we won't cross paths again. Jill and I have been friends since we were in college. She was always there for me. I don’t know why she chose to be my friend even though our social status is so different. She came from an elite family, but despite of that, she never used her name to get what she wanted. She has everything I wish to have, but then Jill chooses to have a simple life. "Oh damn! Here they go again," she muttered while staring outside the coffee shop where we chose to meet to talk about her frustrations in life. She always has her security with her, and she doesn’t like it. Jill’s family is into politics; her father is a senator and her mother is a former mayor. That’s why she always has security with her for her safety. "I think you need to go home now," I said while sipping on my frappe. She frowned. She stood up with a look that seemed like she didn’t want to go home yet. "You can ride with us. We will just drop you at your house," she insisted before she took her luxurious bag. She's so nice to me that I'm not sure why she chose to be my friend. I just don’t get her. She has a lot of friends, but she always chooses to hang out with me, tells me some of her rants in life, just about everything that she can share with me. "I have some errands to do later. You can go first. I’m fine," I stated with a smile pasted on my face. She narrowed her eyes at me afterwards, and she just shrugged her head. Sometimes I’m thinking and questioning life. I don’t know why I keep thinking this way. Maybe it's because I’m on the verge of something from which I don’t even know how to escape. I sometimes can’t stop comparing myself to Jill. Yes, she’s simple, but even though she denies the fact that she was born an elite still, she’s someone that is so out of my life. Life is so miserable... or maybe only my life is the miserable one. I lost my parents when I was sixteen. I suffered a lot at such a young age... and admit that little by little, the memories I had with my parents are slowly fading, and that’s what I'm scared about to happen. "Okay, if that’s what you want. Just call me if you are already home." I just nodded as my answer. I took a deep breath. I guess reminiscing about the past is really such a bad idea. It suffocates me. “Miss Sunny Lorenzo?” I raised my head to see who was calling me. My brows immediately furrowed when I saw a not-so-tall guy wearing formal clothes standing right in front of me. He looks like a businessman, but I don’t have a business with him. "Do I know you?" I asked, still my brows furrowed. I don’t think I know him, but how the hell did he know my name? Is he a stalker? "Can I sit here?" he then asked. Even though I’m still puzzled about what is happening right now, I just let him sit in front of me. My eyes shifted to the brown envelope that he placed on the table, and I don’t know why I suddenly felt uneasy. What the hell is happening? "This won’t take long, and I will go straight to the point, Miss Sunny. I know you are familiar with the Herosa’s, especially Mr. Zeiler Herosa. " Damn it! Hearing his name is already making me shiver, at the same time making me annoyed. Ugh! What is it this time? "Miss Sunny, I know your first encounter was —" "Are you here to threaten me too?" I asked, cutting him off. He smiled at me as he shrugged his shoulders. "Then what do you want? Look! I don’t have some business to tell regarding your oh-so-called boss, and I don’t have time for your nonsense," I bluntly said as I rolled my eyes. "Mr. Herosa wants you to be his personal chef, and here’s what he can offer to you.” He slightly moved the brown envelop towards me. “Just look for the details first before you reject the offer, Miss Sunny, and much better if you look for the details first after you come up with your decision,” he added, as if he knew what I was going to say next. Oh damn it! I don’t know what they are planning to do, and I also don’t know why they are suddenly doing this despite what that ass*ole did to me days ago. I tightened my grip on my pants under the table. What? Personal chef? I thought he didn’t like the food I prepared for him, so why is he damn doing this now? “I will give you time or days to think, Miss Sunny. I will see you again," he then said before I could even utter a single word, he left leaving me in puzzled. I closed my eyes in frustration. I stood up and was about to leave without taking with me the brown envelope... I sighed. I just took it. Okay! I will just go ahead and read it! ---
