Chapter 5

1660 Words
Kaylee pov She takes a step back with me when we hear him walking closer to the door. She slowly starts to walk with me further down the hallway. My adrenaline pumps around in my body, and it has my legs to move. I feel weak, but I manage to move them when we hear him stop by the door. "What are you doing?" I hear him boom out to her, and Liana pulls me slowly with her. "On my way to see a patient, it's urgent, so if you excuse me," she says when I hear him mumble something before his footsteps walk away from the door. The door is slowly opened when she comes walking through it and heads right over to where we are. She grabs my other arm when they start to walk fast with me down the hallway and towards a back door. "We don't have much time," the woman says when we reach the door, and she opens it with a card before looking outside. I see her sniffing in the air for a moment before she pulls me out with her on the other side. "I have placed a bag behind the shed, I have already looked into the way for us to take," Liana says when we walk around the building and head for what looks like a small shed. I don't understand it all what Liana means, and I try to remember what happened. "Here, I take the bag for now, and we need to head for the borders. The guards will shift right now and head for the other end, this way of the borders will be free for a short time and that's our best chance to get you out of here," Liana says, dropping my arm before I see her pick up a bag from the ground. She puts it on and walks back to where we are. "I don't understand this," I say in a low voice when my head starts to hurt and I place my hand on my forehead. "It's common to feel disoriented and get a headache, I'm sure your memory of what happened will come back eventually. Don't force it." The woman says when they both start to walk fast with me into the forest behind the shed. "We have to go faster, can you run?" Liana asks me when they both start to pull me faster with them. I have a hard time coping with their pace and have to focus on just my breathing and getting my legs to follow their way. "I'm surprised she can keep up, it shouldn't be possible. I bet your father was someone else than a low ranked omega, with the strength you are showing without your wolf, I would guess he is of a higher rank," the woman says when I just try to take that information in as well. My head hurts worse when I try to put all the pieces together. "You think he was?" I hear Liana say to her in shock when they both suddenly stop in their tracks and start to listen closely. I try to hear anything, but not a sound is heard. "They are coming! You have to run while I try to keep them occupied," the woman says before she lets go of my arm. "Run, and I hope you get away," she says when I see her shred her clothes when she shifts and starts to run in one direction. "Come, we have to hurry," Liana says when even I hear some running. She pulls on my arm when I get my legs to move at her speed, and before I know it we have started to run. It doesn't take too long until she holds my arm and stops me. Turning towards her, I wonder why we have stopped when she takes off her bag and hands it to me. "I placed some clothes in the bag and all the money I had saved. Take it and start over somewhere else," she says, handing me the bag. I don't know why it never crossed my mind that she would be leaving me. She holds the bag out to me when I just look at her. "I can't come with you, I wish I could, but my place is here," she says, placing the bag on my back when she walks around and stops in front of me. She takes my hands in hers and looks at me with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry for what they did to you, wish it had never happened. I hope it's enough money if you want to get rid of it," she says when I see her tears well over and run down her cheeks. I have nothing to say at the moment, I feel numb. "You know I see you as my sister, and if you come to a place where you are safe, try to contact me, and maybe I can come to meet you," she says, wrapping her arms around me. She holds a hard grip around me when I hug her back. "You are my sister," I say to her ear when she sobs to my shoulder. "You have to run and get away from here, don't let anyone capture you, and stay away in a human town. And don't forget to leave the pack when you step over the borders. It's enough if you say your first name and that you are an omega, it will release you from this pack, but once the words are out you are rogue and have to run," she says, and it just dawns on me that I will be rogue when I step over the borders, and I can't go near any pack grounds out there. "They are on their way, you can't stay here any longer," she says, breaking the hug before she takes a step back. Tears are running down her cheeks when she looks over her shoulder before turning her head back, and I hear some barking a bit behind. I know it's now or never. Turning around, I step over the mark that I know shows where this pack grounds stops and turn to look at her. She holds my gaze when I say the words that release me from this pack, and I can feel the connection to this pack break. Even without me having a wolf, I feel the emptiness in my soul. I'm officially rogue. "Go! And whatever you do, stay as far away from the father to the child, he is dangerous, and no one can save you from him if he catches you!" she says to me when I see her turn around and shred her clothes and shifts before she starts to run back, just leaving me with those words. I have a hard time taking it all in when I hear a roar and it has my legs moving forward fast, and I'm too late to stop when I reach a wide river and fall right in the water and end up under the surface by the strong river. Coming up to the surface again, I spit out some water when I feel my body getting caught by the river and pulling me with it. I have to fight to keep my head over the water when I come closer to a small waterfall, and it doesn't matter if I try to swim the other way, the river is too strong. I don't know for how long I have been inside the water fighting for my life, but I'm exhausted to the point where I'm ready to give up. I take my last strength when the river gets calmer and swim over to the shore when I manage to grab a hold of a rock and pull myself out of the water. Crawling up I fall to the ground and try to catch my breath. I have no strength to move a muscle and let exhaustion take over for a while when I fall asleep, where I lay in my wet clothes. "What do we have here?" I suddenly hear a man's voice from a distance when I feel someone kick me in the side. Grunting, I try to move, but my whole body is cold and it hurts everywhere. "Well, the rogue is still alive. I thought she was dead there for a moment." I hear another man say, but I still can't move. "You know the orders, let's get her to him," I hear a man say before someone grabs my body and lifts me from the ground. "She is lighter than a feather, could break her in half with just my hand," I hear the man say that's carrying me. I have no idea who they are, but I know they aren't from my old pack at least and I have no energy left to move. I have no idea how long I have been out when I hear a voice boom out that has me jolting awake from my sleep. His voice vibrates through my body and I don't know what it is that feels familiar, I'm sure I have heard the voice before. "What is it?" He booms out when I open my eyes and see I'm still in the arms of a tall and muscular man. Turning my head slightly to see the source of the voice, my head starts to spin when my eyes land on the black haired man I feel like I have seen before. Suddenly everything comes crashing down on me at once, and I remember everything that happened. Where I know him from before, and this is the last place I should be at. He turns his head and when our eyes meet a gasp leaves my lips when I realize the truth, he's the Alpha and the man who got me pregnant.
