10 THE BRITISH TOURThe British people from the Spanish tour went back to the manor in Essex, where they met others who would be touring the UK with them. They had a week to get all their equipment in shape and rest if they needed it after the ardours of travelling around Spain in trailers and tents. However, they were used to the life, many had been born into it, and they just took it in their stride. It was more a question of letting the animals recover from the ferry and trailer travel and checking, repairing and polishing the equipment, livery and costumes.
