His anger was clearly justified as we ain’t allowed to use our special gifts on human entities, but I’m the master of my life, I live by creating my rules not following a godforsaken rule created by some demon elders. I shot Shadow a deathly glare and sent him flying. “Is that all you’ve got? This isn’t going to change anything Ryan, stop acting like a kid you’re a grown-ass nigga” he muttered as he got up from the floor. I was about to strike him again when I heard a voice from behind. “Damn! This isn’t going to end well” I froze as I was in my real form and I wasn’t ready to show myself to Audrey. Audrey’s p.o.v. I quite had a nightmare where I was attacked by a jinn, that made me pass out. Abruptly, I realized that wasn’t a nightmare but a reality when my eyes suddenly fluttered open, I was alarmed at what was before me. I was frozen on the sofa watching a man and a Shadow with a human shape fighting and conversing weirdly. Although I can understand their language, I could barely understand what they were talking about not until I heard my name. “What’s going on here, who are you?” I asked, feeling scared but I wasn’t going to show it, I’d rather act brave and prevent them from acting viciously than sit and watch them display an evil act. The two unknown people in my apartment stopped speaking and remained silent. I was even more scared that I had to get up from the sofa. “Hey! I’m speaking to you. How did you get in here?” I threw a pillow at the man before me, and slowly he turned to me with his gaze right into my eyes. I was mesmerized by the view that graced my eyes, “such a beautiful man” I uttered, feeling my mind in dismay. He has fair clear skin, a well-sculpted face like a piece of art, long legs, neatly curled hair, and perfect abs, and body. My heart melted that I’d forgotten that he broke into my house. Shortly after checking him out, my gaze landed on his eyes which were red and had a few strings of black dots. My feet instantly turned into a jelly which made me fall to the ground. I was so frightened that I couldn’t even speak out, “What’s this, some evil creature?” My mind came up with a lot of thoughts but I couldn’t put my hand on one. I gradually stepped back afraid that they might harm me. Shadow hissed and sat down on the couch, ignoring the both of us. “Hey! Don’t be scared I promise I won’t harm you” Ryan asserted as he squatted to my level. I swallowed hard, finding it hard to believe that such a person with a red-colored eye like vampires would spare me. I should have known that this neighborhood is evil since I found it a bit creepy. “Don’t come closer, stay away from me!” I pointed at him and screamed. He stopped in his strides and sighed. “Come on, what’s the matter with? I can’t believe I’m doing this” he let out with an irritated tone. He couldn’t believe that he would stoop to this level with humans, which he finds hilarious, and cursed himself inwardly. “What are you and why are you in my house?” I mustered up the courage to say. He smirked evilly and locked the distance between us. “Your house, how is it yours?” He swiftly asked with an arched brow. “I bought it and it’s mine, get lost before I call the security and report you” I threatened in a loud voice. “You won’t do that, I would suggest that you keep your voice down. You won’t want the neighbors to think you’re crazy” he asserted with a smirk. I bit my lips as I carefully sought a way to escape. He arched closer to me and slightly tried to perceive my smell, “you smell good” he uttered, his red eyes grew a shade darker as he caressed the part of my hair which is on my face. “Really Ryan! You’re going to flirt with the human girl?” Shadow inquired with disgust in his voice. Ryan drastically turned to Ryan, “stay off this and continue sitting your damn ass down!” He ordered sternly. I took that as the opportunity to escape as he was engaged in an argument with Shadow. “Help! Help!” I screamed as I aimed for the door. Ryan was fast to block my way with darkened eyes. He stared down at me, I turned my gaze away as I couldn’t afford to look at his frightful face. He hissed, placed his finger under my jaw, and raised my face, “You’ve crossed the line, Audrey, I’d already told you that I won’t hurt, what is wrong with you?” He asked in a calm deadly voice which scared me the most. I struggled to look away from him but he made me stare right into his eyes. “Don’t do that Ryan, you will bewitch her” shadow uttered and tried to stop Ryan, but he got smacked to the wall just by a wave of his hand. My mind can’t process what Shadow had said as I was stunned at how the strange man was able to know my name. “Bang!” I heard a loud thud that snapped me out of my trance, it was Shadow being slammed to the wall by Ryan. “Let me go! I promise to leave and never to show up” I uttered while breathing heavily, Ryan snarled and twirled his head in disapproval. “That’s impossible Audrey. I’m sorry to do this but I had to stop you from telling the world about us, and knowing about this could put you in danger” he mumbled and locked our gaze. Looking into his eyes, I felt my world blank, I felt a cold minty taste on my lips, slowly I gulped down the taste and immediately fell unconscious. Ryan heaved a sigh of relief and placed me on the sofa, “she would forget about everything once she’s up and would leave with no worry” he said to Shadow who ignored him. “I wonder how I got hooked with a dumbo, this is hilarious” Shadow let out after a while of silence. He couldn’t process the fact that Ryan had broken many laws guiding the demon realm in a day, bewitching a human is not acceptable but he did it without any worries.
