Chapter 60

1080 Words
I was aghast at the kind of look in Audrey’s eyes, she tried many times to escape which made me feel bad, “Is this how much she loathes me? Even without knowing my identity she still felt the need to run out of my sight which pricked my heart.” I thought to myself while sizing her up. Atlas, I decided to clear her memory and make her forget about the house and me, that was the only way to end this. Unfortunately, Shadow was against my decision. He tried many times to stop me but I wasn’t going to give in, I had already decided on it. I slammed him multiple times to the wall and made a move on Audrey who was scared to death. “Come on baby girl, relax I won’t hurt you” I assured her as I caressed her face, I raised her face to my eye level and made her look deep into my eyes. We demons we’re already known for our enchanting gazes and deceitful look. We can easily make people see us in a new light, that was how I hypnotized Audrey by locking our gaze for a while, my eyes turned blood red as I went through the process, she tried very hard to break away from me which made my grip on her tighten. It wasn’t up to a minute before she collapsed in my arms and lost consciousness. I let out a deep sigh and placed her on the sofa, “rest, everything will be fine when you wake up, you would forget about everything” I asserted while tucking the strings of hair to her ear. Shadow sarcastically threw a nasty comment at me, that made my face turn gloomy. I fixed my gaze at Shadow shooting him a deathly glare, he sneered and stood up from the seat. “Don’t leave to regret this, I’d believe you will remember my warnings” he mumbled in a cold voice. I was about to retort when Audrey moaned slightly, I turned my gaze at her only to realize she was up, “so quick!” I let out with a shocked look, she was supposed to be up by tomorrow. I ran my hand through my hair confused. Audrey got up from the sofa and stretched her arm, she glanced around the living room and landed her gaze on me, and smiled. I was taken aback wondering what she was up to, she casually walked toward me and circled her hand around my neck. I’d say I was struck by lightning, I was so shocked that I couldn’t move. “Wha.. what’s the matter?” I forced out a few words as I could barely understand what was going on. Abruptly, I felt her cold lips on mine which disrupted my reasoning. I stood still for a moment struggling to regain myself as this move hit me differently. Shortly, I slowly regained myself and pulled her out of my embrace. “What the heck do you think you’re doing? Kissing me without notice” I uttered, still a bit dismayed. Although I love how she made the move on me, Audrey can never behave this way to a guy she knows nothing about. I thought, biting my upper lip. “Dear, why are you mad at me? I can’t stand your tempting lips that’s why I kissed you without thinking” Audrey let out coquettishly, this time I need no one to tell me that she was possessed or basically under a spell. “What! Don’t tell me it’s the spellbound I used on her?” I blurted immediately as the thought of how I bewitched her clicked in my mind. “Guess you’re happy now? I also believe that you’re ready to face the repercussions of your deeds” Shadow muttered and used the super speed to leave. I groaned and sat down on the sofa, “hey! What’s wrong, you no longer love me?” She inquired with a sad look that pained my heart. After a lot of contemplation, I decided to play along and leave once she was normal. “No, I still love you dearly. I’m just lost in thoughts” she beamed and curled up in my arms. This feels good and some part of me wished for it to last, however, it’s wrong to cast a love spell on a human, not that I care but for Audrey, I won’t force her to love me. I’d want her to love me with her heart. Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter, the demon elders would reject her. “You’re ignoring me babe” she breaks me out of my thoughts. “Do you want to sleep, I can sing a lullaby for you” she nodded profusely and locked her eyes with her head placed on my arms. I racked my brain thinking of a lullaby to sing for Audrey but none came, I cursed inwardly blaming myself for being impulsive. I should have just locked her in the house till she calms down. A few moments later, Audrey’s brow was wrinkled as she was becoming impatient. I quickly caressed her forehead and decided to sing a lullaby that mom used to sing for Liam when he was little. Slowly Audrey fell into a deep slumber, while breathing in relief, carefully placed her on the long couch and went out of the villa to find Shadow. I found him sitting at the beach side which was not far from the villa, “hey! Did you leave me out there to handle the mess? You’re my assistant you know” I mumbled as I sat next to him. He let out a mocking laugh and turned to me. “Wow, who would have thought that the almighty Ryan would come to his lowly assistant? I believe this is not why you’re here, quickly say it if you have any” I choke on my saliva, Shadow has totally figured me out and I really need to speak to him because I had no idea what was wrong with Audrey, could I have done it wrong? All these were running through my mind. I coughed awkwardly, “well, nothing much. Is it just that Audrey has been acting weird and I have no idea what’s wrong with her, could I have done the spell the wrong way?” I inquired curiously with an arched brow.
