He sneered while shooting his head, “I believe you’re here to strike up a conversation. My suggestion is that you should find a good one” he uttered casually, ignoring my question. I scoffed, finding it amusing that Shadow was being mean to me. He has always been clinging to me, and now he doesn’t want to have a conversation with me. However, I wasn’t going to let him go as I needed someone to speak with because I was confused and had no idea what was wrong with Audrey or even what to do with her. I persisted and continued to speak to Shadow till he had no other choice than to respond, “you should know better when you used your hypnotic spell on her, I warned you but you chose to pick up a fight with me.” He asserted and let out a deep sigh, “well, I think the hypnosis failed and that made her fall into another world, you should reverse quickly else it would be too late” he mumbled, I arched my brow wondering what could have caused my hypnosis to fail? It has never happened before. Could it be that she is immune to my powers? I was lost in thoughts when Shadow tapped me on the shoulder. “What are you thinking? I was speaking but you weren’t responding” I breathed heavily and turned to him.

“What if she is immune to my power?” I suddenly asked. Shadow's jaw dropped as he stared at me with amazement, “is that even possible? You’re the only son of Asmodeus who has the star of becoming the demon king and no one has ever been immune to your hypnosis. So tell me, how can a human withstand your hypnosis?” He arched his brow while shooting a glare at me. Although something like this hasn’t happened I still felt like something was amidst, the hypnosis was done perfectly, but she was acting weird with fear she has for me gone, she is now obsessed with me.

“I think you should see her for yourself, maybe you can decipher what is wrong with her” I abruptly said after I couldn’t decide what happened. He nodded in agreement and followed me into the villa, Audrey was still asleep, snoring slightly. I sat down next to her, gazing at her clear skin which was like the moon. My heart skipped a bit, I took out my hand to caress her face. That was when her eyes opened frightening me. I stepped back and swallowed hard, her gaze was burning right through my skin with a sullen look that I had to think whether she had regained herself and decided to attack me.

Suddenly, she let out a smile and embraced me, “babe! Why don’t you hug me to sleep?” She inquired, the breath that I was holding suddenly relaxed. I took a glance at Shadow and shrugged, he was staring at us shocked while trying to process what was happening. Shortly after Shadow nodded at me and gestured for me to come to the bedroom. I nodded, turned to Audrey, and yawned.

“What’s the matter, are you hungry? I could make something for you” I found that as an opportunity to get away from her grip and meet up with Shadow in the bedroom.

“Yes! I’m famished” I responded with a smile, Audrey beamed and strode out of the living room.

“So, what did you come up with?” I inquired the moment I walked into the bedroom.

“I think she is lovesick, the hypnosis failed and cloned her mind into being obsessed with you. She thinks she’s in love but that’s the effect of the hypnosis”

“Just say what it is, I’m tired already” I uttered, shadow notified me that Audrey was immune to my hypnosis that was why the process was cut and reversed into love obsession. My jaw dropped, and my expressionless face soon turned into shock, “that’s impossible! Like you said no one can withstand my spell except the one with the special one” I muttered furiously, finding it hard to believe that a human could break my hypnosis.

“If you had listened to me, there wouldn't be a need for this. However, she may be the special one that possesses the special qualities” I cut him short and refused to believe that Audrey was the special one that was set to ruin me.

“Come on Ryan, I know you must have felt it. Think about it, how could you not be scared like the others? She easily got your attention without knowing unlike before, ladies sway around you fighting for your attention. These are signs of her being the special one” Shadow explained in one breath. I was about to retort when Audrey called out to me, I let out a deep breath, shot Shadow a glare, and strode down to the dining hall. I glanced around the table, pulled out a seat, and sat down.

“How do you like it? Although I didn’t know your favorite meal, I still made it to taste good.” She mumbled with a sweet grin.

“I’ll have a taste” I let out, picked up cutlery under her gaze, and scooped a spoon of chicken soup she had made and gulped it down. My eyes lightened up as the taste of the soup went down my throat, I scooped a bit more and nodded my head, “perfect! It tastes nice” I asserted excitedly and slowly ate up all the food on the table.

“I’m glad you like it, I was thinking that you would not like the taste but I’m happy you did. I would be happy to make more of it for you” she stood up from the seat and cleared the table. My mind lingers away on how to reverse the failed hypnosis.
